Almost perfect!!

Everything was fine, kitchen and common areas are cozy and comfortable. Location is perfect. Good vibes, good pancacjes for breakfast.

Some kitchen utensils should be replaced, like pans and tea towels, normal because of the use but they should be renovated. And the hot water tub was not as clean as it should be.

Персонал не знал, что доступ на ледник закрыт хотя мы об этом спрашивали.

Free soup, breakfast (pancakes, waffle... Just amazing!) and free spa, this place is perfect!

The breakfast really surprised us. Warm and comfortable stay, highly recommended.

Hot veg soup in the evening and full set of breakfast( waffle, pancakes, cereal, etc)

The shower box is a bit small for big size person.

Okay but could have been really nice.

There was a good selection of food options for breakfast, and I really appreciated it.

There were spider webs in different areas of my room, such as the windows and the panels overhanging the bed, on which the nightlights were mounted. Also, the toilet bowl in my room didn’t look particularly inviting. It had brown stains at the bottom and its cover had a non removable grey patch on it. Lastly, the area connecting the reception and the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years.

Best Backpackers in new-Zealand so far

The tenant was adorable, he gives good advices on the hikes around and he is really concern with your needs (I needed a gluten free breakfast and he even propose a gluten free toaster to be sure there will not be contamination). The beds are really comfy, with curtains for more privacy and the blankets are pretty warm so perfect for cold nights.

Chris runs this place by himself and is very friendly. My kids loved the waffles for breakfast. The beds were more comfortable than expected.

The room could have been cleaner (quite dusty), but it was good enough because the sheets and bathroom were clean.

This place has it all ... even free pancakes for breakfast! Our family room was large had ensuite bathroom.

Pleasant

The place is fine but frankly speaking worn down a lot. No one invested a single dollar in this motel in years which is frankly speaking a little bit sad as the vibe, the location and the foundation is there or would be there. The staff (Chris) is a one man show. I have no idea how he does it but he is doing an awesome job. Take care of the mosquitos and sandflies at Franz Josef - nights can be tough otherwise.

A friendly atmosphere with lots of extras to make you stay enjoyable.

Chris was a great manager and very friendly. he takes his time with everyone and provides so much value to the guests. The free pancake breakfast was awesome as was free soup at night.

The cleaness of the room was Ok but the entire setting was not tidy. No screens on the window and mosquitoes were annoying at night.

Great location fab waffles!

Great location, friendly and informative staff. loved the breakfast in particular the waffles. Dorm room has privacy curtain and a good mattress so I got a good nights sleep!

Carpet in dorm room could do with a good regular sweep as collected dust/ rubble from days activities.
