Comfortable, Accessible, Vacation Home in Lake Michigan Beachtown
About this house rental
Nestled in South Haven, this lovely house for $324 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Close to Downtown South Haven - 1 Mile from South Beach This comfortable, very accessible home sleeps 6 comfortably, or 8 with a queen-size inflatable mattress (provided). The home includes three bedrooms and 1.5 baths. There is a master bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed and large closet. Upstairs are a large bedroom with two twin beds and a small bedroom with a full bed. The upstairs bathroom has a shower. The house has been remodeled so all the essentials are on the first floor, making the main floor very accessible. There is stair-free access to the back door entrance with a ramp from the garage to the backyard deck. The kitchen has a wide corridor; at one end is a breakfast nook with a bay window overlooking a ravine and a slider leading out to the deck. This is our favorite gathering spot in the house, and we often have 4 or 5 people sitting at the table while another 3 sit by the bay window. The living room is light and airy with picture windows overlooking the ravine and the front yard. The main floor bathroom is large with a shower and a separate tub great for bathing children after a trip to the beach, and a heated tile floor that's great on chilly mornings. A laundry room adjoins the downstairs bathroom. The backyard deck has a wooded feel and is perfect for entertaining 8-10 people. The main entrance is in the back and there is lots of parking for up to 5 vehicles. The yard is small and landscaped with a variety of gardens and plants. There isn't a lot of room to play, enough to fit in a game of bean bag toss or horse shoes. However, there is a small park just a hundred yards away (Hartman Park) with grassy areas for playing ball or frisbee, grills and picnic tables. The home is very conveniently located in a quiet residential neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown; far enough from the beach to avoid the noise and traffic, but still close - it's a short walk to downtown and the Kal-Haven Trail is just a mile away, perfect for runners and cyclists. The South Beach is also one mile away. We drive there with our 5 and 7-year-old girls; adults and older children can walk (or bike) there in 15-20 minutes. My wife and I grew up in South Haven, and now we love sharing it with our children and our guests. Lonely Planet recognized the fun and beauty of the Lake Michigan shore: 'A mere 30 miles away (from Grand Rapids) sprawls Lake Michigan’s Gold Coast, perhaps the USA’s most unexpected beach getaway. Some argue that these shores rival Hawaii’s and Southern California’s. Along 300 miles of seemingly endless beaches lie sugar-white dunes, wineries, antiquing, U-pick orchards and berry farms, cider houses, Hemingway haunts – you can even go surfing. In Michigan! So if you never thought you could head to the Midwest for a Cape Cod-esque beach vacation, think again.'

This property was everything we hoped it would be - cozy, clean, great location, tons of amenities! There are lots of little touches that made our stay outstanding. There's a fully stocked kitchen, fans in all the bedrooms, ice maker, all the little things that make a house home-y. We walked into downtown a few times and drove to the beach every day. We would definitely stay again!

Clean, comfortable, very well furnished
Very satisfied with our stay at this property. The house had everything we needed for cooking, grilling, and exploring South Haven. Communication with the owner was clear and quick. The downstairs bed and bathroom was great for my older father, and the kids enjoyed having their own space upstairs with me. I would definitely recommend this property.

Great location, great price!
Everything you need to enjoy a South Haven getaway. Kitchen and laundry well stocked with essentials. Large bathroom/laundry on first floor. Upstairs rooms are quintessential Michigan cabin vibe. Quick walk to shops, restaurants, farmer's market. Ample parking. Worked well for our family girls weekend. Would rent again, especially at this price.

Nice house and good location
The property and house were very nice and most of South Haven's attractions were within walking or biking distance.

House was nice the location was good. Unfortunately the weather was not good all week with rain and cool. Sunday night when we got there the electricity went off for eight hours. We had no phone service. There were no flashlights that worked in the house. We were using our cell phones for flashlights but all our cell phones were running low on power. There was a tornado in the area but we did not know that since we had no way of communicating with anyone.🙁

South Haven Oasis
There is so much good I could say about this property - and even more so about the owners.
My husband, parents and I had planned a 2 week vacation in Michigan and ended up needing to stay much longer due to a (non COVID) medical issue. 4 weeks and 3 rentals into our extended stay, I was alerted I needed to stay even longer! The day I found out, I saw Timothy’s property and he was more than happy to book us last minute. In addition, he offered me a place to stay in the house before check in time in case I wasn’t feeling well from my surgery.
He allowed us to check in a few hours early and even gave us a tour of the property which he said normally he isn’t able to. It really added to the feel of the place. I met his wife and daughters and they were equally as kind.
Throughout the week, we enjoyed the downtown area of South Haven as well as the beach. We grilled and made fire pits in the yard. This house is ideal for relaxing in privacy and nature and also has easy access to the downtown area.
Tim even offered up his own family’s vacation time at the house if we needed to stay longer because of doctor’s orders - which we did. After we did depart, his family reached out to send me well-wishes in my recovery.
This home is clean, comfortable, warm, cozy, organized, welcoming, and PRIVATE - all while a stone’s throw away from sun and fun when desired. The beds are comfortable, there’s plenty of room (my husband even used one bedroom as a home office), the towels are so soft, and the yard is magical - right off of the woods and a ravine.
I cannot positivity rate - or thank- this host enough. We will definitely be back, even though we usually vacation in Saugatuck. We are sold on this property!

South Haven Delight
The property was located in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood within walking distance to downtown and a short drive to the beach. The property was clean, comfortable and the layout worked very well for our family. The outdoor living space added to our enjoyment. The owner was very responsive and helpful the few times we contacted him .
We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

Our group loved this cozy home. The location was perfect, and we loved relaxing on the patio when we weren’t exploring South Haven. There were personal touches everywhere, and the homeowners were helpful, responsive, and thoughtful.

Great House
We just stayed at the Rosemary Alan Dale house and loved it. We have 3 kids and the layout was perfect for us. Having the bath/shower/laundry combination on the first floor was very helpful. They have set the house up well for bringing kids by having lots of puzzles, games, books, DVDs, and coloring supplies. It's a very short, easy walk to downtown, and it's in a nice and quiet area of South Haven. We look forward to staying at this house again in the future.

A quaint secluded home for relaxing
The home was very suitable for our needs...even tho the weather was not! Rained all day Friday... however we did get out and make the best of it. The house was stocked with games and plenty of room to enjoy a rainy day family gathering. Saturday was much better, so since the property is within walking distance of downtown, we took full advantage of it. The deck outside was a very cozy place to sit & enjoy each other's company. All amenities we're at our disposal and when we arrived were greeted with a gracious note, a bottle of wine, and a gift certificate to a local creamery. Tim & Ana were super to deal with and very understanding of any questions we may have had. A quick concern: since we did get a lot of rain over the weekend, did notice a water stain in upstairs bedroom & outside of bathroom. There is a tarp on the roof, but just wanted to make you aware so the ceiling doesn't get in worse shape. No leaks were evident, just an fyi😊! On the whole a very enjoyable stay in one of our favorite places.

A peaceful get-a-way
My husband and I rented the property in mid-October. The fall colors could be enjoyed looking right out their window!
The owner answered all of our questions and wanted to make our stay a nice one. When we arrived, a bottle of wine was waiting for us along with a gift card to one of the shops in town.
The property is conveniently located to the town's shops and restaurants.
We felt very "at home".

AWESOME Yet Again!
We have stayed in this rental several years in a row now and the owners couldn't be more accommodating. The house itself is always super clean and the amenities provided are above and beyond other houses we have rented for vacations. My family and I would highly recommend this rental!

Amazing house, amazing location and amazing service!
We rented the house with 5 adults and a toddler and it was hard to tell who enjoyed it the most. The patio outside was a perfect spot to reflect on day spent wandering around town and enjoying the perfect beach down the street. The toddler had a blast playing inside and outside the house. Besides staying at this house, I highly recommend checking out the farmer’s market too!

Great location, very clean, kitchen well equipped.
This property was great - only a few blocks from the cute downtown area and waterfront. We walked to the waterfront every night and felt the neighborhoood was safe and friendly. The house was very, very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked breakfast and dinner at the house every day without any issues. It's also just down the road from a Meijer so it's convenient to pick up groceries. We had a young child with us and only had to do some minimal child proofing. Otherwise the house seemed very child friendly with lots of games and books. The only downside is that one of the mattresses was very uncomfortable. The master bedroom had a very comfortable mattress but one of the secondary bedrooms upstairs had a mattress that sagged quite a bit on one side, so much that it felt like you would roll off the bed if it hadn't been against a wall. That was really the only drawback. Otherwise it was a great vacation house.

Great stay
This is our 3rd year to stay at Rosemary Alan Dale House. It is a home away from home; clean, cozy, and has everything you need for your stay. Our grandsons, ages 3 and 5, love staying there. You are able to walk everywhere from the beach and a huge nearby park to shopping, the farmers market, and always a stop at one of the ice cream shops. Favorite place to eat is Clementine's. The owner provided great customer service always responding quickly to our emails and calls. Highly recommend it for a fun stay in South Haven.

Family-oriented gem in beautiful South Haven
Our family had a perfect few days at Ana and Tim's beautiful home. The dining areas (in both the kitchen and the outside patio) were surrounded by trees and lovely flowers. The kitchen was equipped with anything you might need. (We loved the electric griddle and the vintage Corelle Ware collection!) The upstairs has a summer cottage feel, with pine paneling in the bedrooms. The house is cozy, comfortable, and in a lovely neighborhood. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood, strolling and dining downtown, swimming at the beach, and beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan. South Haven was a gem that we had not known before, and what a treat it was! Tim and Ana were wonderful hosts! Tim graciously and helpfully answered questions and offered suggestions before and during our stay. Meijer is three minutes away, and there is a wonderful farm market on the corner near Meijer. We stocked up on high quality meat at an award winning meat processor, Bob's Meats, a few miles south of town. South Haven offers most anything you could need.

This home is lovely, well maintained and clean. It has a nicely landscaped yard overlooking a ravine and feels very private. It is comfortable inside and easily accommodated our group of 5 adults, a 3 year old and an infant. We enjoyed going to the beach, watching sunsets, exploring South Haven and the surrounding area, and playing games at the kitchen table. Our 3 year old granddaughter loved Kids' Corner and Sherman's Ice Cream.

We spent a week at this vacation home. The home was very nice and fit our needs quite nicely. The home was well stocked with just about anything you might have forgotten. The setting was very nice with a very sweet and quiet yard. We really enjoyed the view from each room. The location was very convenient not only to town but back to the major highway as we were out each day to visit Grand Haven, Holland, Saugatuck and New Buffalo. Tim was very nice to work with and was pleased to have our feedback.

This was our first vacation as a family of 4 - we have 2 little ones, aged 4 and 18 months. The house was perfect for us. It was very clean and convenient, with one bedroom downstairs and 2 upstairs. It was a perfect distance from both town and the beach, and we were able to take little walks around the neighborhood as well. There was a crib as well as beds, and we were impressed that there seemed to be other amenities as well (magnifying glasses, a shower bar, etc.) for people who might need these. There are also lots of toys, games, and DVDs in the house that we and our kids really appreciated! The welcome gift and card were so thoughtful, and the owners were *extremely* timely in their responses and very kind and accommodating. Thank you so much! We hope to stay here again!

This house was wonderful for our girls' weekend getaway. We had seven ladies and a baby staying, and there was more than enough room for us to stay and feel comfortable. The owners were very thoughtful with a welcome gift and were available throughout the weekend to answer any questions we had. We were there during the blueberry festival, and the location provided a quiet escape from the activity in town. We were able to walk to downtown and the beach, and we did so multiple times during our stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
