Perfect base for us to explore the local area. Comfy beds after a 27 mile charity hike! Very cute and cosy cottage.

clean cottage with well equipped kitchen. beds comfortable and good sized bathroom
only minor snags, temperamental wi-Fi and a non functional bathroom basin plug.
Road noise can be a little intrusive in the attic bedroom

Very cosy and comfortable, good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, overall good experience
It’s not actually in Settle, it’s about 3 miles away in Long Preston. Cottage is on a busy main road, with heavy lorry traffic. Some rather quirky plumbing and internet speed very slow (although latter may be fault of location rather than set up in cottage). Watch out for nesting crows when parking your car on the hill!

Cottage was finished of nicely and there was tin foil, wading up liquid which helped.
Parking, it was up hill. To avoid birds nests and your car having 20 bird pooos on you had to park even further away.
there are signs saying not to park on the green but the neighbours do and even block the pavement to the cottage.

Great base for days out, very cosy and lovely overall.
Main road right outside but this can’t be helped. Once you have settled in you won’t even notice it.

travelled for work and as it was same price as the pub down the road ( bar a few quid) job done - whole house - settee - kitchen - just like i got at home, so it was a no brainer - road is noisy but i read the reviews so not an issue. lovely little village - should have done my home work though as the only place to do a bit of grocery shopping is the little post office so my evening meals were a bit limited but i didnt starve. have read some silly comments about parking on a hill - well assuming you have a license and drove there then i dont see what the issue is - maybe its time those guys used their bus passes
lovely cottage - comfy bed and settee - all mod cons - what more can you ask for?

Was self catering...
Long Preston is a pleasant village near a railway, view was pleasant from the main bedroom of Eastcote Cottage, it's on the main road also, so, at times, rather noisy with the traffic...
The local Pub is a good walk away and always looked closed too (the other Pub was abandoned)
No parking as in booking information, off road parking is not on site.
No wardrobe or closet (unless you are 6ft 6in+ to hang items behind curtain on the landing) as in booking information.
No Laundry Airier either...
Outdoor Dining?
Terrace?
No notification of Owner change for communication and Key Code details...
Smelt at times of a 'wet dog' (not that we're adverse)
*Cleaning, left the Cottage in a reasonable condition, however, paying £30 *extra for cleaning (as per booking) to find a 'polite' message on a Henry to 'please use before leaving'!! (bit of a joke tbh!) And no, didn't use it, sorry...

The location was important as my friend and I were partaking in the Macmillan mighty hikes marathon saturday 3rd July
Needs to be decluttered, remove the shag pile dirty rug, remove the fake flowers, very dusty and unappealing, have bedfing on the spare bed. We were rudely disturbed Sunday morning at the point of showering, by a delivery van that told us to move the car from the roadside, where we were allowed to park!!! The delivery man was disrespectful and angry.

The cottage is absolutely delightful. It is cute and so cosy. It is clean, well furnished and lovingly decorated, with well stocked cupboards in the kitchen, good WiFi and several entertainment options, for example a TV, dvd player, music sytem(which we didn't actually use), books to read, leaflets on local places to stay. There is a good sized fridge/ freezer in the kitchen, an oven (which we never used), microwave, kettle, toaster and a dishwasher, which meant no need to wash up! 😀 The double bed was so cosy. The bed in the upstairs bedroom was not made up with sheets, which was a shame, as it's a lovely room that one of us would have liked to use, to have some personal space after a day out together. Reading our booking details again (a bit late I know!) I guess this is considered the extra bed for children, which has to be arranged in advance and paid for at £10 a night. Also you have to provide your own bed linen for it! If I had read the small print more carefully, I would probably have arranged this, as the attic room is lovely and would have given us more space. The bathroom was clean and as expected. However, we had problems each morning with the toilet needing more flushing than would have thought necessary, which must be a design fault as we don't have a problem at home. We didn't have time to use the outside seating area, as we had busy day and evening plans but would have not found it very useful if we had been expecting to use it. It was a table and two chairs around the back of the cottage facing a small grassy area. In the evenings this is in the shade (not sure about the morning, I didn't take note of this) But it is away from the main road!
The main road was more busy than expected and noisy during the night and early morning. But we managed to sleep ok as we'd been out walking all day.
The location was a bit further east than we would have liked, which was our fault of course, away from the routes to climb each of the three Yorkshire peaks (one a day) and places to eat out during the evenings. But we still managed to do what we wanted, we just had a bit more driving to do than we would have liked.
I did not like having to park on the narrow, steep hilly road alongside the cottage, as I was always worried about the handbrake holding the car safely. But it all worked out fine 🙂 We always managed to get parked, always further up the road from the cottage, and the car didn't roll at all, as I always left the car in gear while parking, to help the handbrake cope.
All of the three comments above were nothing the owner of the property could do any differently and was partly due to our own choice of a place to stay. But, maybe, with this knowledge, and more careful thought on my side, I may have chosen other place to stay. However we had a good 4 night stay in the cosy, well equipped, cottage.

Comfortable place to stay.
Recommend as a short stay for family or friends who get on well with each other. Limited space but doable.
Good location - we did a circular route over the back to Langber Lane - Settle and then along the Ribble River path back to Long Preston (15 miles)
Only a couple of things to say but on the whole good.
Unfortunately there was no hot water through the taps so we had to boil the kettle for needs.
Shower worked fine.
Not that we needed the TV much but looked forward to a movie Saturday evening after a lovely meal out; Netflix was advertised as available but not accessible with no obvious instructions.

Cheap.
Lovely and warm once we figured out the heating control.
Clean. Large bathroom.
Large fridge freezer.
Rather small and cramped for four people.
Beds were too soft. Furnishings are old and mismatched and several kitchen items chipped or damaged.
Fine for a short stay but nowhere to put your clothes or bags for a longer stay.
On a fairly busy road with a tricky turn round a corner.
9.0
Wonderful cottage and a perfect location for touring the Dales and on the doorstep of Settle. Felt so comfortable here and very clean too.
