L’emplacement est super avec une vue magnifique ainsi que les propriétaires qui sont extrêmement gentils et bienveillants ! La nourriture cuisinée par Madame est exceptionnelle et les repas sont très copieux ! Je conseille le rafting j’ai passé une journée incroyable et le propriétaire m’a aidé à organiser la journée ! Es war alles perfekt . Sehr nette Gastgeber Familie perfektes Frühstück perfektes Abendessen usw. Der Hotelchef war bei allem behilflich und hat uns Abends noch schöne Geschichten über sein Leben erzählt und dabei Raki ausgegeben. Reichhaltiges Frühstück alles wird frisch zubereitet gleiches gilt fürs Abendessen. Für uns das beste was wir in Sri Lanka erlebt haben. 100 Prozent weiterempfehlung.

We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The room was very nice with a beautiful view and private balcony. The family hosts are incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka so far!

A very friendly and personal welcoming
for us. We were collected by tuk-tuk and driven there with no extra charge. Then we were served tea from our balcony that had a breathtaking wiew. The home made dinner was magnificent and we even got a birthdaycake.The walk in the teaplantages was lovely. We will absolutely come back to this nice family

Everything was perfect! The location is beautiful, the food was amazing and the hosts were very very very friendly and welcoming!! They helped out with everything and arranged for us a beautiful tuk tuk drive around hatton and the climb to adams peak! Thank you so much, wish you all the best! ❤️❤️

Very nice and spacious apartment with private balcony and a beautiful view. Host and hostess were lovely. Their English is good and they are willing to help with anything. The curries were varied and exceptional, possibly the most tasty curries we had during our holiday. We also used the laundry service which was very good. We went to Adam’s Peak from here and they arranged a taxi to bring us and pick us up. Perfect place for recovery afterwards.
There is not much to do in Dickoya itself. It’s a short drive to Hatton though and the location is good if you want to climb Adams Peak.
Although we didn’t drive a tuktuk, we could imagine it being tough to drive uphill to the apartment.
There is a mosque in the area which is very loud, 2-3 times a day (also +/- 5:00 am) for 30-60 min. During the day you’ll get used to it, but you will need earplugs for the night.

Myself and my husband had a wonderful stay at Princess Dickoya. Saman, Simela and their family are the kindest people you will ever meet. Their home is beautiful, looking out over the stunning Hatton hills. Simela's food is THE best food we had on our trip. Absolutely delicious! Saman organised a 2 day itineray for us and gave so much amazing local advice about the area. They packed us a breakfast for our sunrise hike to Adams Peak and helped us get our tuk tuk started in the morning. 😂It was such a pleasure to stay here. We didn't want to leave!

We loved staying at Princess of Dickoya. The homestay is immaculate. Our room was fresh and clean with a lovely terrace to sit on and enjoy our breakfast or afternoon tea and overlook the hills. The whole family that owns and runs this property are so genuine and caring. We met everyone from Saman and Semila plus their 3 very courteous and helpful children, Handi, Nethu and Vihanga.
Nothing was too much to ask. Saman graciously would offer to drive us down into town, Semila and her girls in the kitchen would cook us up the most amazing dinners and breakfasts. We never bothered to eat anywhere else. Semila even went out of her way to cook a very special meal for my husband.
You would be crazy to stay anywhere else. If its a taste of the real Sri Lanka hospitality this homestay has it, plus more.
Thank you for looking after us, you are remembered very fondly.

We were supposed to stay only one night, but shortly after we arrived we have decided to prolong our stay. Firstly the room looked absolutely amazing and the views from the terrace were breathtaking! Then we also found out that the owners are the best, very nice people and they will help you to arrange anything you need. We rented a scooter from them. Saman makes everything happen and on top of that his wife is an amazing cook. We have spent a little over two weeks travelling across Sri Lanka and this was for sure our favourite place! Would definitely come back for longer to this place.

Ein wunderschönes Homestay in Mitten der Teeplantagen. Wir wurden mit dem TukTuk am Bahnhof in Hatton abgeholt. Dies sogar kostenlos. Anschliessend sind wir im Homestay herzlichst mit Tee und Keksen begrüsst worden. Das Zimmer ist einfach aber funktional eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die kleine private Terrasse direkt vor dem Zimmer war unglaublich schön, besonders um das super leckere Frühstück nach den Aufstieg auf den Adams Peak zu geniessen. Auch das Abendessen ist sehr lecker! Der Fahrer zum Adams Peak hat Saman für uns organisiert und wir haben sogar noch Sandwiches erhalten. Das Homestay ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für den Adams Peak und ich würde zwei Nächte empfehlen um auch die wunderschönen Teeplantagen direkt in der Umgebung zu besichtigen. Vielen liebe Dank an Saman und seiner Familie für den unvergesslichen Aufenthalt!

Everything! It was totally bliss - some of the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka, with the most lovely and kind family! Saman sorted everything for me, including journeys to the station and a sunrise hike of Adam’s Peak. It was simply gorgeous, even with rain!

Saman und seine Frau sind total herzliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber, komfortabel ausgestattet und mit herrlichen Blick auf die Berge. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und super lecker, ebenso das Abendessen.
Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für eine Wanderung auf den Adam‘s Peak (ca. 1 bis 1,5 Stunden Fahrzeit einkalkulieren) oder zu den Aberdeen Falls. Spaziergänge durch die Teeplantagen können direkt von der Unterkunft aus gestartet werden. Saman organisiert jederzeit gerne Transfers und hilft bei der Planung von Ausflügen.

The hosts - Mr and Mrs Saman are amazingly warm people. Food was so good, we ate so much. Being a vegetarian we were not sure how much food and variet we can get but we loved each and eevry meal there. SO much so that we looked forward to the next meal. View from room is breathtaking. You can just simply sit in your balcony and view sunset and sunrise (if you feel lazy). Saman even arraged me a train ticket to go to Ella when I could not book it online from my country. Highly Reccommended.

The Saman family are so nice, willing and honest people that you can easily feel like another member of the family.
Not to forget, madame is also a brilliant cook so definitely dont miss a chance to have a dinner here. If you are lucky, Saman will prepare a supertasty fruit salad by himself, which my wife rated as the best fruit salad she ever had.
Saman can also manage a tuktuk ride or even a day trip that meets your plans and wishes, both for reasonable prices.
The rooms are absolutely clean and it basicly meets european standards in every aspect.
What you may dont like is quite noisy muslim and buddhist chants played from the respective temples early (I mean early, between 4:45-5:15 am) in the morning. As the Saman house is uphill and just like other SriLankan houses have those fixed open spaces above windows, it really get noisy here and probably will interrupt your sleep. Of course it is not fault of the owners but I find it fair to notice this possible disadvantage of this place.

Die Unterkunft liegt ganz in der Nähe von Hatton auf einem kleinen Berg. Dadurch hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick. Die Zimmer, sowie der kleine Garten, sind sehr sauber und gepflegt. Man merkt auch in dem Umgang mit den Gastgebern wieviel Mühe sie sich geben dem Gast ein tolles und entspanntes Erlebnis zu bereiten. Sie sind super freundlich, zuvorkommend aber nicht aufdringlich. Das Frühstück war sehr üppig und total lecker.

Our stay here was amazing! The views from the balcony where gorgeous and the food was the best we’ve had so far after 3 weeks Sri Lanka! Both breakfast and dinner were insanely good!! The room was clean and the beds were super comfy. The family who runs this homestay is also very friendly and helpful. Honestly, the best place!! ❤️

Best experience in Sri Lanka! Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the hospitality. We enjoyed our stay very much and wished we could stay more than one night. The room was perfect and the bed was very comfy. Also the view from the balcony was amazing. It was so nice to come back here after the climb to adams peak. Thank you for the all great food and the sandwiches for adams peak. They helpt us a lot. Would 100% recommend to stay here.

We didnt have plans to visit Hattan but when we read the reviews for this place we decided to and it did not disappoint. We had a stunning 4 days here.
Saman gave us lots of ideas everyday for hikes and waterfalls. We visited 2 stunning waterfalls.
The food all cooked by his wonderful wife Salima, was just sensational. We ate every meal here. She even prepared us breakfast picnics to take with us on the days we left early. On the days we were there to eat breakfast and lunch it was served on our balcony overlooking stunning views.
The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature.There is a beautiful walk through a tea plantation behind the property.
Our hosts could not have done more for us, showing us sunrise from the rooftop, offering us tea and coffee, cleaning our room, offering to do our laundry etc.

Things we didnt like: its good to be aware that the property is up some steep hills so be prepared if you have a tuk tuk but it was very manageable and so worth it for the views.

Whatever I say, I have not said enough about the unique experience I had in this little paradise, with the beautiful people who are the owners of this paradise. They made my trip to Sri Lanka a memorable one. Saman and his wife are two sweet people who welcome their guests with all their heart... They would wake up early in the morning with us and make sandwiches for us to go out. I will always remember the food, the amazing breakfast, the clean rooms and the comfortable bed. With generosity and kindness, Saman took me to all the interesting and scenic spots in the region and patiently spent time with me. I travel alone, and being with a family that makes you feel safe and at home is one of the most beautiful things about traveling alone...
I want to go back to Sri Lanka and visit this beautiful family directly. And this will be one of the most important reasons to think again in my travels to Sri Lanka. The location of the house is excellent, you will be in the middle of the tea plantation with a five-minute walk, and you can reach the lake near the house with a fifteen-minute walk.

This was without any doubt the best stay we have had for whole month traveling through the country. The owners are perfect, room, food and everything around is just amazing! :) We were joking why we did not stay for the whole month here :) we rented a scooter which was the best decision and opportunity how to discover some places freely.

Warm welcome, everything went very smooth from the beginning and whatever we needed it was taken care of for a very reasonable price or at no cost at all. We did a few tours which we would all recommend. Also the food was delicious.
