It was all great

Everything was top notch. Mick and Irene are phenomenal hosts. Kind and attentive with great suggestions for activities to do in Coober Pedy. The accommodation itself is spectacular and very unique: a home dug into the side of a hill is not something you see every day!
The interior is really something. It's incredibly spacious and dug directly into the rock. You can see veins of gypsum and opal running along the walls, as well as a mine tunnel above. There are holes for explosives and also holes drilled into the rock that serve as stashes for wine bottles. The furniture is almost all hand made as well. The rooms are kept at a very comfortable 20-22 degrees c, owing to the nature of the dugout. Mick and Irene have put a lot of thought and effort into the whole experience and it shows.
There is a full kitchen and a fridge stocked with fresh bread, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, milk, juice, and water as well as butter and margarine. There is an honor bar with beer and wine with reasonable payment suggestions as well as complimentary port - a nice touch.
Also if you don't want to deal with car rental from the airport, they have at least one 4x4 that they will loan out for very reasonable price. Location is also very convenient, about 6 minutes drive from the main street as well as to the airport.
There are also some roos that like to hang out on the property! They're quite used to people and can be seen on the ridge right by the parking area every morning.
I think the dug out b&b is an excellent choice for anyone visiting coober pedy, whether it's a family holiday, romantic getaway, or a road trip with friends. Do make sure you check out the night sky and sunrise/set while you're there. They are breathtaking.
PS: i don't have any pictures of the interior because i made a huge video and i can't grab screenshots right now. It's truly beautiful and honestly photos don't do it justice.
I literally cannot find fault with the dug out. The hosts are wonderful people and the property is awesome.

The Dug Out B&B has been thoughtfully designed as a luxe but practical B&B. It has everything for a beautiful and peaceful stay out of town.

The time and effort put into creating such a beautiful place shines through completely. Such attention to detail throughout the B&B, very impressive. Extremely clean and homely and the owners were friendly and informative, ensuring our stay was perfect. Great place to stay if you're wanting the underground feeling which is Coober Pedy. Highly recommend!
Absolutely nothing.

Splendid location. We were welcomed by Irene and Mike who showed us around and gave us good advice on sightseeing. The house was large and airy and well-designed and if you want the full Coober Pedy experience of underground living, this is a perfect example. It is just outside town, so you get an amazing view of the Breakaways. We could literally dance under the stars and this is the most amazing sky in the daytime and at even more so at night. The breakfast was left in the fridge and cupboards for us and was very nice too.

The breakfast provided was very European. Hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, bread etc.. cereal and yoghurt. There was something that everyone could eat but I think a couple of uncooked eggs and some bacon would be good so guests could choose to make bacon and eggs for breakfast if they wanted to. Having said that it was a nice change for me to have ham and cheese on toast and yoghurt for breakfast.
The location is a little out of town but if you want to stay underground it seems that you have to be out of town. We drove to town both nights of our stay and even though there are no street lights it was still pretty easy to find our way back to the B&B. It was peaceful and being out of town made stargazing really easy. The sunrise was also pretty spectacular.
There's a bench seat overlooking the desert which is great to watch the sunrise from but it was a little uncomfortable and a bit wonky, but we got our own camp chairs out of our campervan and we were fine. That's really the only thing I could think of to change. It was also a little pricey but it's a once in a lifetime experience so I felt like the expense was worth it.

Irene & Mick are wonderful hosts, they are great ambasadors for the region and provide comprehensive details on what is open and available to visit. They are slightly out of town, but dont let that disuade you, is not far and provides a very unique & beautiful accomodation location. The rooms are spacious, with a comfy bed, good facilities - bath, shower, full kitchen & lounge. They have put a lot of thought into the small details of what they provide for visitors to make their stay as comfortable as possible in the vast remoteness of Coober Pedy. Breakfast was plentiful & good quality. Would happily stay again.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The room was quite large. I appreciated that we could park our car under cover so that it wouldn't get too hot. The breakfast selection was good, we didn't eat all of it as there was quite a bit. The towels were Sheridan which was lovely, and all the furniture was so pretty. The kitchen was well set up, they had oil, salt, pepper and butter for cooking which was good. I liked that they had wine, beer and port available, we didn't use any but it was a nice idea.
There wasn't really anything I didn't like, everything was truly wonderful.

Everything from start to finish was amazing! I was pretty apprehensive about staying in a Dug Out because I thought it would be claustrophobic 30ft underground, but it wasn't. It was light and airy. Clean and fresh. Plenty to choose from for breakfast and fresh. It was just absolutely relaxing, peaceful and just perfect.
The sunset could have been a bit better! 🤣 But I did get some fantastic shots anyway! Honestly, there was nothing to complain about it was a fantastic place to stay, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Staying at Dugout B&B allowed us to feel what it might be like to live in Coober Pedy: a light cave with all modcons and a window to the outside. Irene and Mick are lovely people. Thank you for giving us so much information and also for the yummy continental breakfast supplies.

everything we hoped for in an underground stay, from the Mad Max-like drive out there to all the little touches. that made the stay just that much more enjoyable.
could have used another blanket on the bed- maybe there was one one somewhere?

Over the top great every think was so very good, so clean and the breakfast was fantastic and all the special thing that the owner did makes your stay were incredible I would highly recommend any to stay
There was nothing I did not like everything was fantastic no complaints at all

Breakfast was excellent - bolled eggs, ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, toast, jams, orange juice - all perfect and great choices.
Location was also excellent - liked not being in the centre of town. Easy to find and distance into town about 7 minutes -not a problem.
Observation - the shower areas are quite large and the tiles can be a bit slippery even with a mat in place. Hand rails in the shower area would be an added safety bonus.
