Ik ben erg te spreken over Pukyo bed and breakfast Belgian / Lao. Let wel: dit is een guesthouse. Geen hotel. De prijs / kwaliteit verhouding van het aangebodene (ontbijt, koffie zijn prima, het guesthouse en de kamer zijn schoon en het ziet er netjes uit) is uitstekend, de prijzen van de tours en de aangeboden tours zijn prima, en wat me extra bevallen is, is de persoonlijke benadering en vriendelijkheid van de eigenaar en zijn vrouw, plus het feit dat zijn vrouw de tours doet, want omdat zij niet alleen een prima tour guide is die oprecht geïnteresseerd is in het gebodene, maar ook goed Engels spreekt, is dat erg fijn. Dat heb ik in Laos wel eens anders meegemaakt. Tenslotte is het altijd chique als ik als Nederlander in het buitenland gewoon in mijn eigen taal kan praten met iemand die echt in de lokale samenleving zit, dit geeft echt extra diepte aan het verblijf.

Phosavan is een bestemming voor liefhebbers. Je komt naar Phosavan vanwege de Plain of Jars, of om een 'authentieke ervaring te hebben', en in contact te komen met de lokale bevolking, en dat lukt hier uitstekend. Ik kom hier zeker terug! en raad dit verblijf van harte aan. Tip: Je kunt hier gewoon met Euro's betalen, en dat is wel zo mooi. Scheelt weer kosten.

David, the owner, will tell you to make it your home and that’s exactly how it felt! It was a cozy stay that we looked forward to returning to at the end of the day. But the best thing about the place is the owners and their hospitality. David went above and beyond for us, ensuring that we had onward travel sorted, took us to an atm (twice), showed us around the best restaurants. We actually ended up eating with him and the other guests both nights. He actually uses his own van too. He ensured we had a trip to the plain of jars for a fair price and using his van again with an English speaking tour guide. Overall we cannot recommend this place enough. The owner of the guest house is a professional guide who is knowledgeable about the prehistoric sites with her perfect English. Her hospitality and kindness made our trip a memorable one. The rooms are clean and breakfast especially the croissants are freshly baked and delicious 😋

This was my first time in Xieng Khouang but 3rd time in Laos so I feel like I'm familiar with what is usually available when it comes to guest houses, hostels, and hotels. Staying at this guest house was the best choice because David and Sakhone were very helpful in getting around the city, learning about places to eat, and really helpful with choosing the right city tour to attend. Extra bonus was getting helping in searching for the Lao instrument khaen. They helped me find one of the few people in Xieng Khouang that specialize in making and playing the khaen and I'll be forever thankful that I got my very own from the province. The room was really big and very peaceful. The breakfast was baguettes, croissants, yogurt, fruit juice, and coffee. Would highly recommend your stay here! I hope to come back and stay here again.

I don't have much to say here because I enjoyed my stay. I got a chance to cook with Sakhone which was wonderful so I hope they create future services of Lao cooking classes for their guests.

Very welcoming, clean and comfortable with a delicious breakfast in the morning. David is a brilliant host who is so helpful and goes the extra mile for all his guests.

David & his wife were very helpful. They picked me up at train station & took us into town for meals. organized our tour to Plain of Jars. Room was spacious. It was cold at night but still nice in room. Breakfast was nice with real bread & eggs. You could refill your water bottle downstairs which I liked.
