Honestly, this place is paradise. A gorgeous, spotlessly-clean, tastefully decorated house, perfectly situated in lush acres on a deserted beach... what more could you want? Completely safe, not a soul on the beach, no one to bother you, beautiful walks. A couple of hotels nearby, when we fancied a dip in a pool, or a cocktail, but generally, we loved the safety and solitude of Khomba Beach House. Indrani, the talented cook prepared some of the most delicious SE Asian meals we’ve ever sampled and overall, we felt utterly spoiled here.

Leaving! We both admitted we had a lump in our throat as we pulled away. It was so safe and secure there and I must confess, rather difficult leaving such a beautifully cared for and special haven of tranquility. We will definitely be back.

What a place and how fortunate we were to have spent four glorious nights in complete and utter paradise! The villa itself is totally unique, stylishly designed and offers a large open plan living area with abundant areas to chill and unwind. The bedrooms are hugely spacious, vibrantly fresh and incredibly comfortable with wonderful outdoor showers. Each room enjoys stunning views across the lush flower garden, teeming with birdlife and native trees. A pre-breakfast dip in the Sea on Khomba's private beach was a great way to kickstart the day.. Unlike Galle, the Sea off Khomba is tranquil in comparison, allowing for fantastic swimming and calm snorkelling. The team of four, led by husband and wife duo of Sisira and Indrani, made the stay all the more enjoyable. Nothing was ever too much hassle for Sisira. Our final morning, was spent on a private boat which whisked us out to the Dolphin feeding grounds, only 1km or so off the beach. Vast pods of 1000 + playful Dolphins were seen from the boat. This remarkable wildlife encounter was certainly one of the many highlights that will stay with us from our time spent at Khomba. Indrani’s cooking is second to none and incredibly diverse. The food itself trumped every other well-heeled establishment we were fortunate enough to have dined at during our 10 day trip of Sri Lanka. The vibe is relaxed, unstuffy and wholeheartedly genuine. The Fruit, Veg and Herb garden at Khomba provides the finest seasonal produce, whilst the fertile waters supply the kitchen with a bounty of fresh Fish, Prawns and delicious Crab. The magic is then left to Indrani, who consistently fed us like kings and created flavours we didn’t even know existed! Never was one dish the same and the variety without a doubt epitomized the very best of Sri Lankan cuisine. Khomba triumphed more than we could have imagined. The property is even more wonderful than the photos imply. The beach is fantastic and the swimming ditto.
