Porch was wonderful - lived out there.
Beds were comfortable.
Everything was super clean!
Beach was kept well.
View was awesome!- wanted to lose the curtains in the dining area.
The Quiet was really nice, felt very remote.
The deer, birds singing, watching water birds were all great.
The hot water heater worked very well!
The air conditioner actually worked to cool down the whole cabin for sleeping.
Smell upon entering was atrocious! Too much “cover up” can’t breath all the fumes of the “air freshener”. Realized 2 days in it was probably a dead mouse in the wall. Just awful doing dishes at the sink with the oder of dead mouse right there.
Not crazy about bolted down furniture - dining table: very uncomfortable bench.
Kitchen is laid out really poorly. Really there is only 1 20” countertop open to stand at for a workspace.
The shower was unbelievably small. Can this even be counted as a shower???
As first-timers we didn’t know what to ask for. Husband is a super city guy, not used to boating - could have used a boat rental, but realized too late. Could have used help with figuring that out. Don’t know where to start.
As a first-timer could have used a list as to what to bring….???
Kitchen towels
Bath towels
Baggies
Char coal/lighter fluid
SOS pads
Spices like salt and pepper
Cooking oil

This property actually is better than described online. The resort/cabin was quite, clean had all things you need for a quite getaway.
The owner Sue and her crew were always working around the grounds and right there if you needed anything.
The ONLY thing this place is missing is BIG Coffee cups (you can thank me later lol)
5 star all around/ would come here again any day!

This was an adorable, cozy, clean, and very well maintained cabin! Everyone was so friendly! They lent us a fishing pole for my son to try fishing and were so accommodating overall, including a slightly later check in which is very helpful when traveling with kids.
We stayed in a cabin in front of the main swimming area, but since the water level was high there wasn’t a beach so we walked down to the other beach. With little kids in tow (1 and 4 year old), I might recommend one of those cabins (1-3?) as they were closer to that beach and farther back from water. Although I will say our cabin had an incredible sunset view!
A downfall for us was that there was no bonfire pit in front of your cabin. They do have one farther away by the other beach, but with little kids, a bonfire is more of a night time adult activity, and it wasn’t an option for us to go away from the cabin while they were sleeping. Also, we are admittedly huge babies when it comes to this - but would have liked for the beach/swim area to be more raked.
The shower was small - hard to shower with the one year old, but not impossible! But otherwise cabin and screened in porch were great for family time. A pack and play did fit in one of the rooms in case anyone is wondering. And the ac coupled with big fans definitely kept the cabin nice and cool!
They had a lot of cute games and things to Pass the time like a star finder, conversation starters, etc. Lots of nice touches in the cabin. And Nisswa is an adorable town with great shopping, restaurants, a fun old fashioned historical town, and an amazing playground for the kids. When kids get older we would love to take advantage of the bike rentals and trails.
Overall, we had a great experience! Thank you!

We have stayed at Samara Point 3 or 4 times over the course of 25 years. The last 2 times have been in the channel house. I can't say enough great things about the resort and the family that runs it. It is always welcoming and quiet. They are out every day ending to the property and making sure we had everything we need. If you are looking for a great place to spend a week up north this is it!

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The cabin was nice and clean. We loved the screened in porch, but not the small shower. Our stay was very enjoyable.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating helping us find cabin in dark as well as answering ? It has a fabulous screened in porch overlooking lake and is very cozy. Bathroom a bit small for 6'6' person but adequate!

From check in to check out the people were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our only complaint really is that the check out time is at 9:30 in the morning! Little kids that have played in the lake the whole day before are not even awake by then - much less have time to eat breakfast. I understand that it takes a lot to turn a resort but I feel giving people until 1030 or 1100 to wake up, pack and load is reasonable. Move check in to 4:00 if you have to and let people enjoy their last morning on the lake with a cup of coffee.

My family and I live in Andover, MN, and Samara Point is about a two hour drive for us. This was our first visit, and we had an amazing time!! We have two children, ages 8 and 12, and this was our first cabin experience together as a family. The cabins were so cute, just what we were looking for, extremely clean, and had such special personal touches to them, including a basket of homemade chocolate chip cookies! You are steps away from Gull Lake, have the use of a fishing boat, kayaks, outdoor games, and a five minute drive to cute, little town of Nisswa. We will definitely be coming back next summer, this time for a longer stay! I just can't say enough good things about Samara Point!
