Iconic hotel, filled with history old world charm, and all the details of exotic India, that we love and cherish. Fantastic floral displays, well appointed rooms that look to be recently remodeled, an excellent Moroccan cuisine at the rooftop restaurant called.Souk.
For the handsome amount of money, I spent on a room for two nights, I would’ve expected there to be peace and quiet in the evening. However, both nights there was pounding vibrating, very loud, disco music emanating up from the ground floor to the third floor where we stayed. It was so loud that at 11:30 in the evening I called the duty manager and asked that they, figure out the source and put the kibosh on it. Neighbors next-door also extremely loud and noisy. To my chagrin, the next night was the same story. On top of that, the hotel was very busy, packed crowded, and difficult to walk through. It took me three hours to get my room registered because there was so many people, checking in and checking out. I’ve stayed here before, and it was always a grand and glorious experience. Now this time it made me feel less than enamored. I think I’ll save my money and stay elsewhere. Next time I visit Bombay.

Hospitality, shows the great Indian hospitality in its entirety.
All people are treated the same, and the basis on what the hotel was built of treating people equally was a great foundation.
Everything was good.

Beautiful place.
Noise. I stayed in the Towers part where they were either testing the sound setup for functions, or hosting functions, which made my room tremble. I got shifted to another room - in itself a hassle - where the noise was somewhat less but the base tremble was still there. On top of that, there was a loud function at the Gateway of India - not just tourists etc (which is fine) but very loud music. I am not a very sensitive person to sound, or a light sleeper. But the experience was bad.
On another note: staff means well but is extremely procedural and has to get through cumbersome IT systems. Printing a single A4 takes a minute and producing a bill takes two minutes. Both seem to require many many keyboard actions. Never seen it like that. Poor staff.

One cannot help but love this iconic hotel. Our room in the palace wing was spacious and very well appointed.
Staff service is impeccable. Breakfast is outstanding, with a huge choice. Morning views over harbour were perfect.

Welcoming, helpful and nice staff.
Rooms are clean and well equipped.
The Hotel is all in all not worth the price.
Fells like a trainstation as crowded as it is. Too many visitors from outside.
The rooms were badly isolated so even on the fifth floor you felt like standing in the middle of the street.
Also not everyone staying at the hotel gets a chance to have breakfast in a nice and peaceful atmosphere as sealounge. We were packed into the crystal room and it felt like a canteen breakfast, although the food was pretty good. Even as a hotel guest you had a hard time getting a seat at “high tea”. The staff got pretty much overwhelmed by the lack of good structures which is needed to handle this mess of customers.
We felt really disappointed especially visiting hotels like the “Taj Lake Palace” in Udaipur before and can not recommend staying at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel for this amount of money.

Filled with heritage in the architecture and great places to check out outside of the hotel too. Wonderfully located to explore key sights and a nice running route too. Had extensive food options - do check out the Mediterranean restaurant (Souk) on a high level with great view of the sea and the lamb kebab dish was out of the world!

I think service from this property matched only one other property which is Atlantis Dubai. There is nothing bad about this, everything is what you expect from a five star property and even more
I really did not find any, I think at least once if you can you should try this property

Staying at "The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai" is an experience for a lifetime. Everything about this place speaks volumes about the rich history. The staff is exceptionally courteous and well behaved which is missng in most of the places these days.
I can feel the genuinity even in the smallest of things or as we call it "the Tajness". I am going to book more of "Taj" for my upcoming trips.
There could be some guide books to operate some equipments like the iron board, opening the window etc.

Words fall short to describe how truly wonderful our stay at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai was, but here is my attempt. I can focus on a myriad of things in this review- from the history of this 120yo monument, the glorious art and artefacts carefully curated by the Tatas, to the countless personas who have walked the storied halls of this institution. But what I would like to truly call out is the awe-inspiring and often times, downright jaw-dropping hospitality of this hotel.
Right from check-in, where the front-desk staff added little extras to our stay to make it special, to the housekeeping staff who decorated our room for our anniversary during evening turndown. Special thanks to Sandeep Ghuge, Housekeeping Ambassador for even going the extra mile and bringing us a huge chocolate cake to celebrate! And when is one cake ever enough? Another delicious cake was in store for us at High Tea at the Sea Lounge, when Azeem got wind of the news. He even made sure we got a lovely table by the window with a view of the Gateway!
The star of our show however, was Mr. Lalit from the Butlers Department. When he came by to bring our drinks in the room, he made us an offer (made possible by Dhananjay- Asst Restaurant Mgr and Tushar- Deputy Housekeeper) we literally couldn't refuse- a private 3-course dinner specially curated for us in one of the only three signature suites of the hotel! Though last minute, the team worked insanely hard to not only cook us this meal, but even decorate the suite for us with balloons, flowers and candles. Because we initially had plans to go to a seafood restaurant, Chef Joshi even incorporated seafood on the menu (specially printed scrolls, wrapped in Taj ribbon!). Lalit-ji even took pictures for us and framed them within the course of the dinner, so we'd have a lasting memory of the night- not that we needed it, because this one will be etched in our memories forever.
I will only leave you with this- truly, the people make the Taj!

Helpful and knowledgable staff. Perfect location. Great informative tour of the Palace and relaxing yoga in the morning were enjoyable.
Greater attention to detail regarding cleanliness would have been expected and appreciated in such a hotel.
The cocktails in the hotel bar could use some work.

Very polite staff, old world vibe with modern facilities
They gave us a room which didn’t have a bathtub although we had booked and paid for it. It took two phone calls before they moved us into a new room.

The rooms were beautiful and the staff were friendly.
There were too many people around in the lobby. It felt like I was in a busy mall. It was not relaxing. I had to wait 10 minutes to get a table for breakfast every day. I also had to wait nearly half an hour to check out.
