The breakfast was exceptional. There was an attractive and tasty variety of fruit/yoghurt/cereal dishes. We had home-made bread with Barrow House honey made by Barrow House bees. Barrow House hens also kindly donated the eggs for the hearty Irish breakfast.
Breakfast was communal around a large square table which provided an opportunity to meet and speak with other guests. The conversation was always interesting as they were from all different parts of the world.
The property's location is idyllic, right by the water's edge, where we had daily visits from a variety of wading birds and had wonderful views of the distant mountains. It was quiet and peaceful. A truly relaxing place to stay.
Our bedroom was large, tastefully decorated and furnished with an en-suite luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower.
There is a fabulous long sandy beach within short walking distance and the scenery is stunning.
Daragh, our host gave us a warm friendly welcome on our arrival. She was always helpful and was ready to provide us with information and advice during our stay. (She even came to help me find my mobile phone which I had lost during a walk along the beach - and with the help of her two sniffer dogs, managed to find it!)
There just wasn't anything to dislike!

Beautiful location we really enjoyed our stay, in particular the breakfast where the guests sit around a large table and enjoy a good chat in the morning before heading off on their separate ways. Well done Daragh keep up the good work.

Amazing. I mean it when I say it exceeded all expectations. The house is stunning, but more than that you can feel that this guest house is Daragh's passion. Every detail thought out. So charming and elegant. Quite like I've rarely experienced. Beautiful location. Exceptional breakfast (best brown bread I've ever had! With homemade honey, no less). So peaceful and gorgeous. I can't wait to come back.
For me personally, everything was perfect. Perhaps if you expect to conduct remote business while here you should know that reception (as is typical in rural Ireland) can be testy, so bring specialized equipment if you require A+ connection. But this is not a reflection on Barrow House as this will be the case anywhere in the Irish country. For me, if anything, it adds to the country charm.

You arrive with a view of Barrow House which is across the water and honestly it’s beautiful. We were greeted by Darragh, owner and host. She is delightful! Warn, welcoming and friendly. We are in Cormorant on the top floor, a large bedroom. Kind size bed, view of the sea and really nice bathroom. “ Would you like a pot of tea?” Says Darragh and up it comes.
The eight room house is really five star luxury. Each room is thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. The view, location and house make you want to stay and stay and come back.
Breakfast is a treat. Hotel breakfasts are so samey and these days, buffets with terrible food. This is freshly cooked to order with a delicious vegetarian option featuring halloumi cheese which my wife assured me was fabulous. Home made breads, jam and freshly squeezed orange juice.
It’s not cheap but worth every penny. Would love to come back for Priscilla’s big birthday, take the whole house and bring my family.
Give yourself a real treat and go, you won’t regret it. You can see across Tralee Bay to the Dingle Peninsula. Tralee Golf Club is a stones throw away and sea food restaurants abound.
A deck out from the garden would enable easier access to the water.
