Hotel was quirky and artistically furnished and decorated

Room was so small we had to leave suitcases in the car. The bathroom had no privacy as door had half clear glass and was loosely fitted. No access to the lovely lounge in the evening because it is locked.

Ludovic is a wonderful host, so charming and had many suggestions regarding local places etc. And he tolerated my mistakes when speaking French! I really enjoyed my stay here, it’s a cute and quirky hotel, perfect for me for a weekend and was a great escape from the busy city. The bed was super comfortable.

Cap Ferret is wonderful and Caillebotis is in a great situation. The owner, Ludo was VERY charming and helpful. Organising bike hire, suggesting places eat every day and trips to places to see. There only appeared to be one other member of staff, who. despite her inexperience, prepared and served (very decent continental breakfast) as well as servicing housekeeping.

Four star prices for two-star facilities. Like a restaurant avec chambres, without the restaurant! Late check-in, early checkout, a new one on me. Having emailed my anticipated arrival time. Hotel was locked up and in darkness at 3.20 pm, plus it was raining! Fortunately manager at next door hotel welcomed me, contacted Caillebotis owner to allow my check-in. Hotel guests (I was paying over 220 eu per night) only permitted access to public spaces up to 11.00 am and not before 6.30ish in the evening, but always closed up for guests by 10.00 pm. Rooms needed a good dusting. I realise the last two years have been tough for everyone in hospitality but, dear Ludo, despite being very entertaining, seems to be running Caillebotis for his own convenience.

The owner/manager and staff were all very helpful, friendly. The location was good and many restaurants, shops and excursions were close by, within walking distance. The ambiance of the hotel was very pleasant. It would have been even better without the Covid restrictions.

The bathroom was a bit small.
