Excellent stay!

The Westin is a luxurious hotel providing all the amenities expected of a good 5-star hotel. I am not sure why but maybe because it is off-season in Kolta, but I thought the Westin was excellent value for money. It is probably more expensive in peak season. My room was spacious with an excellent desk and chair. The room has a huge bathtub and the shower is uite spacious. The special Bengali New Year's buffet dinner at Seasonal Tastes on the 10th floor was absolutely superb. I have not had so many excellent and exquisite dishes for a long time. They had live music during the dinner and I was entertaining people I wanted to chat with. We were promptly relocated to another part of the music where is was quieter and one could chat more easily. The gym is well-equipped and the swimming pool is also quite enticing. A special shout-out to the exceptional and helpful staff especially Mr Pranab Banerjee, Jr Sous Chef, who goes out of his way to attend to residents during breakfast, as well as Rinky and Tamal at Seasonal Tasters. The breakfast spread is exceptional. The only other place where the breakfast spread exceeds that offered at The Westin is the ITC Royal Bengal (in my opinion). All in all, I will certainly consider the Westin the next time I am in Kolkata.

This is nothing against the Westin and I chose it since I like the quietude and greenery of New Town Kolkata but those with business in the central city need to bear in mind that the Westin is a bit of a hike. It was already hot in April and my travels to places like IIM Joka and ISI Kolkata were strenuous. But Eco Park is literally right across the street and Mother's Wax Museum and other attractions are close by. So, it depends on what one is in town for. But for unwinding at the end of a long day, the Westin is excellent. One evening, I called for in-room dining and told them it had been a long day and I was tired. The chef promised to expedite my order and did so since the food arrived much before the promised 30 minutes. I have nothing negative to say about the Westin.

Good stay for the weekend

The breakfast spread was excellent. The staff are very helpful. The room, with a bathtub, was excellent. The swimming pool was very comfortable.

In room service need more accountability. I needed to make a follow up call every time ordered something.

Good place to stay between flights.

The main restaurant and the food. What a great variety of Indian regional specialties. Well done to Chef Sudakshina for her recommendations and Customer care.

comfortable and amazing stay! would love to visit again

honestly, there’s no complaints regarding Westin and their services. everything was very adroitly done, managers were really cooperative and helpful.

we ordered dinner. prawn thai green curry and jasmine rice. the food was super bad, the quality of the prawn was very stale. told the receptionist the same as well. i expected better from them.

enjoy the urban view

we liked the cityview from our room at 23rd floor. we also had a nice view from the bathtub and wc area. the central atrium is the most interesting space. guests get a nice view of the restaurant while using the elevators.

the swimming pool could have a shallow area for kids.

Exceptional

Our stay was quite comfortable. Every staff member was courteous and polite. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay. I would like to give a special mention to Chef Shriya and Chef Ashmita who went the extra mile and took care of our needs of the palate and sent amazing recommendations our way. They put up a wonderful gesture of bidding adieu to us with a delicious chocolate pastry! I would rate them both 20 out of 10. :) Both my partner and I loved the way they made us feel special and we hope to visit again soon to be welcomed and treated the same way! ❤️

The temperature in the room could not be brought down to one which would provide enough comfort. Overnight, it felt a little uncomfortable. Just something to look into. But, otherwise it was an amazing stay :)
