A pocket of awesomeness on earth

A pocket of awesomeness on Earth I wanted a cabana on the beach and that is exactly what I got. A place to stay for 4 weeks , in a home from home environment and it was utter bliss . No five star needed . A Cabana, with air con, a bed , a shower , and a fridge . It is the only way to stay , in a place like Ambergris . Socialising like a local, hitching lifts in go carts , walking along the beach to restaurants , It was an amazing 4 week stay made all the better by Christina ( who runs the hotel ) and her trusted Assistant Grisella . Christina was a source of valuable information , having lived here for many years and nothing was too much trouble for her . She was an outstanding hostess who became a friend . There is a daily cleaning service, change of towels , a laundry service , on site cafe providing americanos and juice . If he started making pizza’s it would be a winner ! There is a security guard from around 7-12 am every night . Christina makes sure security lets her know is anyone doesn’t come home . I thought this was fab as a solo traveller . Really reassuring to know that someone had my back. Hotel de Rio is located just north of the town . it is utterly charming , a place of tranquility and peace . Opposite tranquil waters and some of the best swimming locally , I really could ask for nothing more . Like most of the beach , the beaches throughout AC have a problem with some form of harmless weed . There is an effort across the island to clean it up but it is fairly impossible . Therefore the best swimming is usually off a deck such as Hurricanes . There is also deck opposite the hotel - with steps leading into the sea and this is lovely ( and avoids the seaweed). In terms of restaurants and shops - see my TA review but it is no more than a 12 minute walk along the beach into the main town where there are plenty of restaurants and banks ! Separate reviews available ! Check out Google and TA for further detail !

There is some residual noise from Wayo’s - most nights it is barely audible but occasionally they have a band playing.

Muy buena ubicación, personal muy amable y atento, resuelve inquietudes con mucha eficiencia. La cabaña es muy confortable y segura. Equipada adecuadamente. Limpieza impecable. Trato excelente. Muy recomendable

Great place to stay for those who like to chill and have a quiet time-off in the island

Entire place was really nice, has a chill vibe, always well-tended. Hotel staff are super nice and helpful, always made sure I had what I needed, and offers good recommendations for activities and places to see and eat. Location was also great, next door to Wayo's and has an on-site coffee shop that has great service, a good selection of coffee and pastries for a light breakfast. The room has just enough space, towels are always fresh, has enough toiletries for guests. I really like the small sitting area outside my room where I can just chillout and watch movies while checking out what goes around. They also have a cool cabana and lounge chairs for other guests to sit outside. I love the big umbrella tree at the entrance of Hotel Del Rio, which gives it a little bit of a homey feel. It is also pet friendly so a couple of neighbourhood dogs can come visit and play with guests.

A bit pricey but they offer Belize resident discounts

Cooles Team im super Lage von San Pedro

Die Lage, ein bisschen außerhalb des Trubels in San Pedro. Das Personal war super nett, und hat alle unsere Fragen schnell und kompetent beantwortet. vielen Dank auch an Gracela, genau das unseren Geschmack empfohlen. Es gab von unseren Zimmern insgesamt vier Sitzmöglichkeiten, so dass wir alle gemeinsam in Apartment frühstücken konnten.

Eigentlich nichts - es gab in Apartment keine Klimaanlage, das hätte uns zunächst verwundert, es war aber tatsächlich abends möglich, mit dem Ventilatoren im Zimmer zu schlafen.

I loved the island of San Pedro the people the food everything was wonderful

The location couldn’t have been any better. The staff became like friends. It was a wonderful experience.

Friendly, social and super helpful. We had a blast ☀️

Everyone was super welcoming and friendly. The staff helped me arrange a surprise cake and balloons for my mother’s birthday and also helped us book a great snorkelling tour. A million thanks for all the help!

The only thing we regret is not staying longer, we did not want to leave ☺️

Would definitely stay again

Fantastic location on the beach front, we were in the rooms at the back. We found it quiet Wayo’s across is a loud pub but we had no problems at all slept like a log Fantastic power shower and HOT just why was needed after a day on the water Owner couldn’t do enough even let me do my washing which was fabulous

Room on the small side but we just had to be tidy ! Not a problem

Superb guest service - they are incredible

Christine & Gricela made my stay completely unforgettable. They know perfectly how to treat their guests. I only have good words for them: they advise me with the transportation before reaching the hotel, they help me to book several snorkeling activities (not easy being just one person) and much more small details (local spots, room upgrade, beach towel provided, complimentary water...). Always with a smile in their faces, and leaving whatever they were doing to attend me. I felt like being a home, treated as a king

Perfect place to stay in San Pedro

I loved this property! The owner and staff went above and beyond for us for my boyfriends birthday. The cabana was so clean and so cute, right on the beach. We had a wonderful time

The staff is awesome beautiful location right in the middle of town. You don’t need a golf cart you can walk to many local spots.

Perfect little getaway for a nice price.

The people were super helpful and friendly. The hammocks were perfectly located. The hotel animals were adorable and friendly. Laundry services on site was so convenient.

The Manager, Christine, is very knowledgeable and helpful. The employees of the hotel are very nice. The cleaning ladies had put flowers every day in our room. Thank you very much! We enjoyed very much. Sue

The smell! One side of the sea shore is filled up with the sea grass. The sea grass was cumulated alone the sea shore and fermented, which made terrible smell. It was impossible to swim. I was told this bad smell started in 2015 and it getting worse. I really hope they could get rid of this terrible smell. Sue

We stayed a few different places during our visit to San Pedro and this was our favorite spot. We liked this location the best and the room/general areas were nice. We definitely recommend it.

Such a great place to stay! Staff was welcoming and friendly. Great folks to talk to. I loved how close it was to the water. Best of all was the fact that even though it was only a very short distance away, it was so much less congested than "downtown." Added bonus--bakery, Roadrunner and Arabella's right around the corner.

Fantastic Spot!

The staff here are amazing! They went out of their way to help us out. Great location. Nice, comfortable and clean facilities. Perfect view of the sunrise/sunset! Loved it.

Lovely location within walking distance of beachfront bars & restaurants. Staff were really helpful with recommendations of where to snorkel, hiring golf carts etc. We got upgraded to a bigger bedroom with full kitchen which was great.
