Nice and personal style with the little "extra". Friendly and very uncomplicated.

The place is a little noisy as the walls are thin and the floor is made by wood. Not such a big thing but nothing for very sensitive persons.

Location was great, owner was very nice. Had a nice little rooftop deck to sit outside. Perfect for a younger couple.

Stairway was very narrow, no room on either side of beds. We should have asked for a ground floor room, so partly our bad.

We stayed in the third floor room at La Chatelaine. The view is lovely, the room itself is charming and comfortable. We loved the decor, and the kitchen was well supplied and easy to clean up after ourselves. It was a quick walk to the beach, (and there's brushes to clean off the sand when you get back). It's also close to the main street, with shopping and food. We drove a car to Egmond an Zee and were able to park not too far from the house. Lovely spot and the owner speaks excellent English!

The stairs are very steep. Don't rent the upstairs rooms if you have balance problems or bad knees.

After 1,5 year working from home, I needed another environment for a couple of days to work from. This very cozy and clean apartment near the sea, was perfect for some deep focus work and strategy-thinking while making long beach-walks. very nice host and good WiFi in living room for work.
