Each cabin has AC units to help you cool down as well as cove heat if you are visiting in the cooler months. All linens and towels are provided along with basic soaps. Outside Space Cool off in the shared back yard with gentle log swing and seating area all under our huge willow tree. Or stretch your legs and let the kids burn some energy off in the two shared large front yards! There is a swing set for the kiddos, and 2 firepits for evening enjoyment. From check-in to check-out, our stay was perfect. Our cabin was immaculate, 100% as advertised and such a welcome sight as we arrived. We found the location to be quiet and offering easy access to all the places of interest both inside the city of Custer, the state park and in the surrounding area. The owner and property manage, Crystal, was delightful to work with as our dates of stay were adjusted slightly due to a change in our itinerary! After exchanging messages online, we were so happy to have a chance in-person introduction to her one morning as we enjoyed breakfast on our patio. (We cooked several meals and enjoyed having the top quality grilling area available!) We are so happy we chose Ponderosa Place for this trip. We're repeat visitors to Custer and found Ponderosa Place to rank among the very best accommodations we've enjoyed during these travels! Thank you so much!

This is the place to stay in Custer! The canine was adorable and had everything and more we needed. Loved how close to downtown and amenities it was. It was very clean and well taken care of. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the heart of Custer!

The property and cabin was just as advertised. Never did speak with the host due to everything was ready and very simple. Fire pit and grill were clean and stocked. Location to town was so close! We will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa Place. Our time in Custer was brief, but we really enjoyed the close proximity to shops, restaurants, and the main attractions we were there to see. Our family of five was very comfortable in the cabin. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The property was clean and had everything we needed. Nice charcoal grille outside for grilling. Excellent location to access Custer state park. There is a neat little park behind the property that has several overlooks that is worth hiking -- check on all-trails.

Had a great stay with my family. Beds where all comfortable, place was clean and cabin provided everything we needed, including well stocked kitchen cooking supplies, bedding and even a spare toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, etc… Checkin and checkout process was easy.

Our stay in the Buffalo Room was great with some added fun features. Chrystal provided a great binder that answered all possible questions and each room has an outside grill and it was peaceful sitting by the fire pit during the evening hours. We stopped in after a long day of traveling and getting to the room and into was easy. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty room for the kids to sleep on the futon and pullout sofa. The facility was clean, organized, and well stocked with amenities.

Everything was really good except trying to get around the extra large Queen sized bed frame. It would be workable for younger people but difficult for seniors. The check out time was surprisingly early at 10:00 am. The property manager/owner was especially helpful.

Overall, the cabin exceeded our expectations & ideal location to enable us to daily do hikes/excursions in the area. We used the futon for our open suitcase as limited room in bedroom. Quiet neighborhood. So enjoyed our South Dakota vacation!

We really enjoyed cabin #5 and it was wonderful to come back from a busy day of sightseeing to cook on the grill. Crystal was a fabulous host. We highly recommend renting one of these cute cabins.

We enjoyed having a place to stay in Custer away from the main road. This place felt a bit more like a hotel because it is all connected together. It felt like a house because you can cook and grill (charcoal) and have a living room to relax in. All was clean and comfortable.

This was a perfect home-base location for enjoying all the sites in the area. The Buffalo cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything the two of us needed. The bedroom and shower were a bit tight, but nevertheless, worked just fine for us. We loved the town of Custer .

The cabin was located close to town with all the amenities needed. It was within walking distance but make sure you want to hike up the hill back to the cabin. Lol. Not our taste but would be great for anyone that it is. We loved staying there and would stay again if ever in area again. Thank you

Very cute, decorated really nicely. Maybe a little tight for the 5 of us, but it worked well as we just needed a landing spot at night. Lots of great day trips very close to the area.

Owner does a great job maintaining the property. It is small inside the unit, but the outside area is nice for the kids. Air conditioning units worked well. We didn’t use it but there’s a cool fire pit outside. Make sure you drive the wildlife loop… 100s of bison!

This is such a cute property, and Crystal does so many little touches to make the stay even better - wonderful towels and washcloths, extra toothpaste, toothbrush, and razor, and a cute little note with her contact info. The place was decorated adorably. It was our kids' favorite place to stay on our 11 day road trip!

Good experience. Property owner was great about answering any questions. The property was as described and clean upon check in with whatever we needed. The play area in the front yard was a bonus for my kids as well! I would suggest black out curtains in the future as the unit would heat up during the afternoon sun and my kiddos would wake up at the morning light. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. This is good for a small family or couple.

We enjoyed our stay so much! The cabin was clean and the perfect location. We stayed over the 4th of July and enjoyed the fire pit in the front yard while watching the fireworks. We’d love to come back and stay again!

This was our first VRBO experience and I was pleasantly surprised everything went as a planned. The cottage was very conveniently located to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We had a great burger lunch at Burger and Bun with an ice cream treat at Horacio’s. No disappointments! We look forward to coming back to continue to explore more of the area and will stay here again.

We loved our 4 day stay here! It provided the perfect place to comfortably settle and explore the area. We were within a few minutes of Custer State Park and half day trips to Devil’s Tower, Spearfish Canyon, Mount Rushmore, etc. We appreciated having a comfortable & clean place to cook a few meals, rest, and access a few minutes of Wi-Fi.
