About this cottage rental
**No taxes for stays 32+ nights!** Peaceful and modern 4-season lakefront cottage on small non-motorized lake. Built in a hill in a mature forest, this place is suited for people who want to relax in nature. Two bedrooms, 1 bath, sleeps 6. Fully equipped kitchen, bbq, wi-fi, large 800 sf deck with seating overlooks the forest and lake. Suitable for couples, small families, and mature quiet groups. Concrete floor with radiant heat stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The cottage is on a hilly dead-end road (great for going for walks) and provides a quiet environment for those looking for a nature escape. In winter, snowshoe and cross-country ski on the 2-acre property. 15 minutes to ski Morin Heights, 25 minutes to ski Saint Sauveur. 4km to snowmobile trail. And then warm up by the woodstove. In summer, access to the lake is a 100 metre walk down a sloped forest path to the private dock. The waterfront is left in its natural state with shrubs and plant to preserve the ecological nature of the lake. A 1-seat kayak is available for your use. There is no beach and the bottom of the lake is very mucky. If you want to swim, it's best to start swimming as soon as getting off ladder at the end of the dock (where water is about waist deep) and avoid touching the bottom and sinking in the muck. 45 minutes from Montreal and 1.5 hours from Ottawa. Located between Lachute and Morin Heights (15 minutes to each) and 25 minutes to Saint Sauveur. Accessibility note: There are 25 wood steps to get down to the cottage from the parking area and the paths in the forest are on a slope with some natural roots/rocks. Not suitable for individuals with limited mobility. Included: - Wifi internet (~50 MBps). -TV (no cable/satellite) HDMI cable to connect to your own device and watch your own streaming service. - Board games. - Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge, stove, propane BBQ, drip coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, kettle, popcorn maker, slow cooker. - Washer and dryer. - Parking for two vehicles. - Well behaved leashed dog is welcome upon approval at additional cost of $50. - Sleeping arrangements: Bedroom 1: queen bed, Bedroom 2: double bed and twin bunk beds. Linens provided. - Bath towels provided. - Small fire pit for summer campfires (when there are no firebans). - You must provide your own swim towels and kids life jackets. - In winter, you must shovel the stairs; driveway is plowed by service.

This cottage is beautiful, comfortable, well laid out, well equipped to cook. The many large windows allowed us to really experience the benefit of the surrounding forest even when inside the cottage. The gazebo allowed us to work on our computers "outside" while being protected from the elements. Julie gave us access to her kayak so we could enjoy the small lake. We had a really peaceful and regenerating time. We miss it already!

The house looks beautiful in the listing, but it is so much more lovely in person. Property is nestled in a mature forest, the house is perfectly laid out and feels comfortable even with 6 people and a dog. An Oasis of calm & nature. Julie has thought of everything and she is the consummate host!

Beautiful cottage with a lot of privacy
My partner and I wanted a nice getaway for us and our dog. Julie’s cottage was perfect. We had a couple days of rainy weather, and still found it relaxing to lounge inside… and on nice days we enjoyed all the sitting areas around the property!

The weather was beautiful which added to our experience but the fact is it could have pour rain, dropped 12” of snow on us, or been cold as a witches… well you get the picture. This cottage isn’t large but makes use of its space so well you NEVER feel like the place is to small. The deck space and out door dining area just make it feel that much bigger still. The short walk down to the lake brings you to a wonderful spot to fish, swim or just sit and enjoy the sun. This place is perfect for us, and likely you. Treat yourselves to a stay at this property, just don’t book the weekends we want to go! ;)

The cottage has everything you could need for a peaceful and comfortable stay. Appreciated that the kitchen was well equipped with quality tools for cooking. The owners took care to nestle this little gem into its natural environment, as if it was always meant to be there.

Perfect place to get away from the maddening crowds. Excellent hiking trails close by. A small lake to swim in and an modern carefree home to enjoy. Close to towns for groceries, restaurants and activities. Very accommodating and helpful owner for even the smallest information.

Lovely cottage!
The cottage was exceptionally clean, homey and well designed. The pictures do not do it justice! Beautiful large windows overlooking the lake. We especially loved the large patio space. Julie was easy to deal with and responsive to our queries.

Perfect Lake House

Thanks for a wonderful weekend, your cottage exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful time swimming, relaxing on the deck or porch outside, and even when the weather turned sour, we were totally at peace to get comfy inside what felt like a tree house! Hope to come back one day :)

Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Snowshoed on the property. The ice on the lake was starting to melt so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy that. There’s a snowmobile trail nearby (pros and cons). Enjoyed cross-country skiing in Morin Heights. Would have liked to have explored the Pionniers trail nearby but didn’t get the chance. The property is quite sloped and the steps make unloading/loading a bit of a workout but the relaxation, view, and wood stove made up for it! Would go again. The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed (baking and slow cooker for example!)
