Come visit our Seaside Escape! OCEANFRONT & newly renovated in 2023
About this house rental
If you like beaches the way they are meant to be; quiet, serene and beautiful, then come visit our Seaside Escape in Kure Beach, NC!!! If you want a place to stay that is clean and comfortable as well as convenient... THIS is the place for you! Our three bedroom, two bath townhouse is a two-story unit overlooking the Atlantic oceanfront. This is not a high rise, just three steps in the back door and three steps out the front door to the beach. From the master bedroom you can wake up with the sunrise and gaze out through french doors at the sand and waves crashing in on the shore (right from your bed). The view is amazing! There is an additional upstairs bedroom that has two double beds. Finally there is a third bedroom with a queen size bed and second bath downstairs (great for elderly guests needing a first floor unit). You can enjoy ocean front views from the porch swing and rockers on the upstairs deck or from the first floor covered porch (loaded with benches and rockers) - either place the ocean breeze makes the climate just perfect. You may be on vacation, but you'll feel like you're at home. We offer a fully-equipped kitchen with all the major/minor appliances (ie. cable TV, VCR/DVD, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender and dishwasher). You'll be able to relax or entertain, whatever you like! When you come inside from the beach feel like you never left. A classic nautical theme can be found throughout the house. From the murals on the walls, to the waves and shells, you'll find the decor is nothing less than soothing and inviting. As for local activities, you can find much to do. Choose from the newly expanded and renovated Aquarium at Historic Fort Fisher to the Cape Fear Museum in downtown Wilmington or something as simple as taking a short 4 block stroll to see what they're catching on the Kure Beach pier. Pleasure Island puts on many local events, activities and festivals. There is always something going on here! If you tire of fishing or swimming, you are conveniently located right between the two Historic towns of Wilmington and Southport. Wilmington is just 16 miles north. There you can visit the U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship (maybe even catch an old flick on the deck one evening) or take a stroll down the beautiful waterfront streets for an endless choice of shopping and dining. There are also a lot of fun indoor activities in nearby Wilmington: Bounce House, Defy Gravity, Jungle Rapids, Mayfair Cinemas and Wilmington Children's Museum for example. Either way you are covered on those 'rainy days' with indoor activities in this area! Less than six miles south you can hop on a short ferry ride to the quaint town of Southport or Bald Head Island. You will probably recognize this town from such films as 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' 'Matlock', 'Domestic Disturbance', or the more recent 'Safe Haven'. If you're a movie buff take a tour of the local Screen Gem Studios and see where many movies have been made such as 'Iron Man III' as well as where 'Dawson's Creek' and 'Sleepy Hollow' was taped. Worried about what to do with the kids? Take them to Jungle Rapids to enjoy the water park, go-carts, and miniature golf. You will not want to miss the zoo either. A zoo at the beach you ask? You've got it... or actually we do! Tregembo's Animal Park (previously known as'Tote-em-in Zoo') has many animals ranging from the ones you'd like to pet to the ones that you know to stay away from. Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my! If you really like amusement parks; take a day trip to busy Myrtle Beach and go to the Pavilion (little more than an hour away). While you're there check out 'Pirate's Voyage,' 'Ripley's Believe It or Not,' and Broadway at the Beach, or just stroll the boardwalk... then come home to your quiet beachfront town. For those golfers in your group; you will find several local courses (some even championship) to challenge your golfing skills. Don't forget all the shopping, dining, and sightseeing! With the warmer temperatures in prime season complemented by the mild temperatures in the off season; as well as the area attractions and friendly local residents... you'll find our townhouse a great vacation spot year round! Come and stay with us at our Seaside Escape!

This roomy townhouse was perfect! There is a parking spot a few feet from the front door, which made unpacking and packing a breeze. It was very clean and incredibly well-stocked. The host went above and beyond to make sure there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The decor is stylish yet cozy. The open concept kitchen/living area downstairs provides lots of gathering space. The upstairs bedroom opens to a balcony (with a swing - much to the delight of everyone in my group!) overlooking the ocean. The views are incredible! We visited during the winter and we were able to have our morning coffee in our slippers and robes watching the sunrise without getting cold and sandy on the beach. For parents with pre-teen to older kids, you cannot beat this spot. They have direct access to the beach, and you can see them on the beach from the balcony! There are sidewalks most of the way to the pier and a few cute restaurants, and it’s not a far walk. The house is about five minutes from a charming aquarium that is probably best suited for smaller kids, but it’s pretty great when considering the affordable entrance fee. It’s also a short drive to Wilmington, which is a quaint city with lots to do. We enjoyed the USS North Carolina, the riverwalk, and the botanical gardens. Robyn was a fantastic host. We travelled on a major holiday and she was super responsive and helpful from booking throughout. We appreciated her list of the best restaurants. We hope to return next year!

Beautiful property. Spacious rooms. Close to pier. Steps away from the ocean! Our only issue was we’re not able to get inside but host fixed that and let us check out late. We had a great weekend and I’d definitely rent this property again!

My aunt, cousin, sister and I rented this beautiful oceanfront property for a four-night stay. This unit was perfect for us and our group. It was a little smaller than it appeared in the picture but that did not matter to us at all. It was so well decorated. It was comfortable and cozy and the perfect place for family to reconnect. The ocean is right outside your balcony and the sun rises are gorgeous. We went to the aquarium and Fort Fisher as well as Carolina Beach. We had one dinner at Mackerel Jacks and lunch at The Spot. We love them both! The locals were so friendly and so much fun. And we had plenty of time for serene and quiet as once again the beach was right outside our back door. Robyn was the perfect host and we couldn't have asked for more! Thank you Robyn and Verbo for a wonderful vacation!!

Everything was exactly like the listing. The condo was clean and beautiful. Tropical storm Ophelia arrived while we were there and we were comfortable and safe even the power went out. The property owner was caring and helpful throughout the entire situation. I would definitely stay there again.

This is our second time renting Seaside Escape, and as before we had a great stay. First, the property is in an outstanding location. Right on the beach. Walk out the back door, across the causeway, and you're there. Walking distance to restaurants and a short drive to the USS North Carolina, aquarium, and a number of other attractions. Second, the host is fantastic. She's attentive and was concerned enough to make us aware of the riptide caused by hurricane Lee. We have a family of 7 with one of our kids being special needs. Plenty of room for all of us, and we're already planning to return next year.

We had a wonderful stay & Robin was a great host. The condo was spotlessly clean, well stocked and comfortable. Steps away from the beautiful beach that was never too crowded. We especially enjoyed hanging on the upstairs enjoying the incredible view. We will definitely book again!!

My family and I enjoyed our stay. There were things that made it uncomfortable at times. When we arrived I went to make the bed with the sheets provided and they smelled really bad like mildew.
I had to rewash and dry them. I recommend bringing your own sheets the ones provided were the cheap ones that make you sweat. Also the beds are memory foam and don’t breath so you will wake up hot. It was super cold downstairs and hot upstairs. The water pressure was super low in the shower so very hard to rinse the soap out of your hair. The place was cute and the location was lovely.

This property was perfect for our one week stay.
The view from the 2nd floor bedroom was amazing! The bedrooms were all a nice size. There are full bathrooms downstairs and upstairs. It was a great layout for our family (kids ages 11, 13, 15).
The house was less than a one minute walk to the beach. Even on 4th of July week we had plenty of space on the beach for our family to spread out and enjoy the ocean. The beach and water were perfect. Our teens bodysurfed and boogie boarded all day every day. Sand tools and chairs were provided at the house. I would recommend renting chairs and umbrellas. It was a windy beach and our umbrellas couldn’t handle the wind.
Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils. Washer and dryer were small so I would not plan to do your laundry other than small loads.
In the evening we walked to the pier (15-20 min) to watch the fishing, play in the arcade and enjoy ice cream. The prices at the pier for gear, shirts, trinkets is better than the other beach stores.

Amazing house and location, we’ve been many places NC beaches this place was one of the best, Robyn was a great host.

The property was clean and comfortable. Robyn was amazing and was very communicative. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

We had an excellent beach getaway after a busy school year, and Robyn's place was the central hub of our long weekend. The recent renovations were a delightful surprise, and it was superbly clean. Plus, it was plenty spacious, comfortably housing my wife and me, our two boys (4 and 1yo), her parents, and a family friend. However, the best feature by far was the two porches (one upper and one lower level) with direct beach access (~100 ft walk). It was a wonderful property that helped us make many memories!

We had an amazing stay. The condo was clean and recently updated. There were even sand toys and chairs for the beach which we were pleasantly surprised by.

Robyn, our host, was excellent at communicating with us. Had a wonderful stay. Especially enjoyed the upper deck overlooking the water. Plenty of beach chairs. We’ll go back again.

It was newly remodeled and we loved it! Great home and location for our family.

Loved the location and access to the beach. The property needs a lot of maintenance and updating but we spent most of our time outside on the decks and on the beach and enjoyed our week

The host was super nice and very helpful. The property is smaller than I expected but as everyone knows, photos now can make things look 10x larger than they are.
There's very little room for "hang out space", but you're at the beach and so I assume you'd be out there and not inside- but if it rains be aware that the living area is small. There's very little space for cooking and prep work. Additionally there is NO space for storage of food- not to the owners fault since there's plenty of plates and cookware. But if you're coming prepared to cook 3 meals a day for a couple days- you'll have nowhere to store food except for the table or the frig.
Your balcony off the upstairs master is somewhat private and you can see the ocean from it. The porch downstairs is not private at all and you are unable to see the ocean due to the dunes.
You're able to walk right out to the beach but it's a nice little walk.
I'm not going to comment on the cleanliness since my husband says I am not "normal" in what I expect for cleaning.
Overall a good stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Plenty of room for 4 adults and 1 child. Property met all of our needs. Grandparents, parents, and 4 year old were entertained entire time. The highlight for us was the ocean view from the balcony off the master bedroom. Absolutely beautiful!

We enjoyed the house and it is close to stores and major things we needed. Love the beach!

We wanted a place at the beach right on the ocean that would accommodate eight people ages 84 to 12. This property answered our needs and had amenities that were satisfactory. The town was a quiet town perfect for the size and ages of our family. We celebrated 5 July birthdays. We were disappointed that grills were not permitted by the town but we made due. We visited the Aquarium at Ft Fisher, had dinners in Kure Beach, Southport and Wilmington all within driving distances of half hour or less. One member of our family is gluten intolerant and all restaurants had offerings to meet her needs.

We really enjoyed the availability to beach access and easy parking. This property was perfect for the adults staying. Clean, perfectly sized for us to stage from the other party’s rental. Loved having coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise.
We would love to rent again.

I stayed for spring break with my high schoolers. The property is right off the beach. Hearing the sounds of the ocean and seeing the morning sunsets was incredible! Great restaurant recommendations from Robyn.

We had a great stay with our kids in Kure Beach. They loved the independence of being able to walk ahead of us right over the dunes to the beach, and the proximity meant we didn't have to worry if we forgot something, because it was easy to run back. The house was clean and comfortable.

This house was fantastic. You physically cannot get closer to the beach if you tried. The sunrises (from the bedroom and balcony) are breathtaking. The rooms are bigger than they appear in the photos. The host is awesome!

The beach was very accessible. Loved the outdoor shower. Balcony on top floor was wonderful for late evening refreshments before dinner. All beds comfortable and linens delivered. It was a very comfortable and relaxing rental. I would highly recommend.

Great place to stay

The main improvement needed to ever consider staying at this condo again is for the air conditioner to be fixed. The coolest the place ever reached was 79 degrees which is not satisfactory to us. Although the owners were notified and a repair man came out, it was never fixed and there was no offer to refund any money at all to compensate for the lack of air conditioning in the condo. This was disappointing

This was our second time staying at this property. We love the location. Robyn is great to communicate with. As long as the size of our party fits, we'll probably book for next year!

The family had a great time. We liked the cute beachy vibe to the unit and that Kure Pier and restaurants were within walking distance.

When we booked the stay we read a few of the reviews and decided to still give it a try. Overall the rental was mediocre except for the location. When we arrived the place seemed clean but after being there for a few mins we started to notice dirty floors, dirty rugs, and a general lack of attention to basic cleaning.
We always wash the dishes that we intend to use once we arrive to any rental. It's a good thing we do because the "clean" plates had food still stuck to them when we pulled them from the cabinet. After unpacking I went to the freezer to get some ice from the ice maker, no joy. The rental listed an ice maker but their wasn't one. The kids tracked in some sand from their walk on the baech and we wanted clean it up. We looked but there wasn't a broom or vacuum cleaner. There was a dust pan and a swiffer but the swiffer sheets were dry.
That night for dinner my wife cooked and that was a challenge. The main burner had one heat setting, hell. Even on low it was too hot to cook on one side. Dont even get me going on the frying pan. So off to the store we go to get a ice, a broom, and a decent frying pan.
After my store run for supplies I decided to go out on the porch. There were two rocking chairs and I used one which ended up scratching me due to a popped up nail. The chairs needed a little tlc and some paint to say the least. At this point our teenagers were looking to get on the internet so we followed the instructions we were sent. I texted Robyn and after a few very responsive texts we got online. The instructions she emailed for check in were not correct.
Now parking is an issue if you have 2 cars. The ad states there are 3 guest spaces, there is only one. We got lucky and locked up the only guest spot. So if you have 2 cars you will chance paying big dollars to park during your stay. Now the next parking issue is not an issue with the owner but an issue with the towns of Carolina and Kure Beach. Be prepared to pay to park to enjoy the shops and restaurants. Carolina Beach is paid parking April to October and runs from 8am to 10 pm and many of their meters do not work. They force you to download a parking app to pay to park. Kure Beach has basically the same deal but their paid parking hours are 8am to 5pm. This alone is the reason we will never visit this area again.
On the bright side, the rental was in a great location and was really convenient to walk right out on the beach but some little fixes would go along way.

Beautiful view. The home had what was needed for the stay to use the kitchen and it was clean.

We had a great time! We loved the location being right on the sand so we wouldn’t have to drag so many things back and forth to the beach. They provided chairs and toys for the kids. Great food close by and quiet.

Clean, cozy and right on the beach. Very quiet but close enough to Carolina Beach and Wilmington in case you decide you need a change of scenery.

The location was perfect! Literally just steps from the beach. The unit was very comfortable and there is a great view from the second-floor deck. Our only complaint is that it wasn't as clean as we have come to expect with other VRBO rentals. It seems she may have forgotten we were coming and did not have much time to prepare for our arrival, but otherwise we had a great time.

The townhouse was very nice and clean.. Well stocked: dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Loved the baloney. Weather good, Only bad thing about our visit: FISH WASN'T BITING..LOL

Our September trip was the perfect get-away. Walk down off the porch and you're on the beach! What could be better? The home itself was comfortable. I loved the extra throws to snuggle up in when it got cool at night! It had some maintenance issues and needs a little TLC. The owner was easy to work with and very responsive. Nice neighbors. Overall, I'd stay again.

We had a wonderful time this past week staying at this property despite a bit of rain and wind! The townhouse had a great location and getting to and from the beach with young kids was super easy. It was nice having the back porch to store beach supplies and clean off with the shower. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck upstairs off of the master bedroom - great for star gazing! Wifi worked great and helped for our remote learner to do schoolwork while we were there. Communication with the owner was great. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues which the owner was aware and sounded like were in process of fixing. Overall we were pretty pleased with the rental and it made for a great get-away! Thank you!
