Location, staff very helpful
We have golf bags, car not directly reachable to concierge. Room lighting too dark, no blinds. Shower, toilet too open for friends sharing room.

Great location in the centre of Taipei. Staff were very friendly and helpful with all inquires. Rooms were serviced and cleaned to a high standard everyday. Housekeeping team were very helpful and happy to assist with request eg additional water, dental kits etc.
The lightning in the room is a bit too dark.

Would be nice to offer some nice soft bread rolls/bread.
Our room was not that good for a 5 star hotel, too small. The lighting is not that bright neither.

The property was beautifully decorated and immaculate. It was also in a great location, easy to get to the main train station and surrounded by cafes and shops.
For the price/rating, it didn’t have the amenities you’d expect in other 5 star hotels (breakfast, bar, views, etc).

Did not use breakfast.
The lights in the room would be
Activated by a motion detector. That can be quite irritating as the lights get switched on in the middle of the Night by Minor movements outside the bedframe.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very welcoming. Excellent location. Overall comforable stay
The bathroom is sectioned off by just a curtain which was a little uncomfortable as I was travelling with my teenage son

The concierge Desk on ground was wonderful! John’s service was excellent!
The check in process was a mess, I didn’t get to my room almost 4pm after I have been pushing them. They said because I was stay longer and booked the room with a view, sound like it was my fault.

The location. Just a few minutes walk from Taipei station. There are underground passages from the station to the hotel via an underground shopping mall with lots of shops on the way to keep the shopaholics busy and you don't have to worry about getting wet on a rainy day or the noisy traffic.
I actually like the dark interiors of this hotel. Your eyes adjust to the light (or lack of it)after a few minutes inside the hotel.
I requested a room on the higher floor and got a very good room on the 12th floor with a spacious bathroom, toilet, and a big bathtub. Very nice panoramas of Taipei from my room even though my room was not in the center of the hotel.
The breakfast spread was terrific with a lot of options to choose from. In fact, I skipped lunch after a heavy breakfast on every day of my stay.
There's nothing to dislike here.

The hotel location was great, very central. Various modes of transport options are just next door. Our room size was big, and there was plenty of space for our luggage and shopping. Comfortable bed ensured a good night's rest.
The room was a bit dark and some of the staff were not very friendly.
9.0
Pricing was reasonable considering the access to the lounge complimentary with the executive room.
The room itself was large and comfortable, extremely satisfied.
Staff were helpful when approached and well staffed, so we never had issues getting someone's help.
Included breakfast was alright but could be skipped since breakfast in Taiwan is easy, cheap, and can be better than what's served at the hotel.
Hotel also offered to pack meal boxes for me and my family when we informed them of our early check out on the last day, which would mean we couldn't easily get breakfast. Very courteous and generous of them. This was done with no extra charges.
The lighting in the hotel overall was below average. It's part of the aesthetic and the theme but might pose a challenge to get used to.
Location of the hotel is great but might be inconvenient to those poor mobility. The reason is that where the hotel is situated on the cross junction, there is no direct pedestrian crossing to the hotel, and you must take an overhead bridge.
We did see a pair of lifts being installed during our time there, so this might not be an issue in the future. Would still recommend this hotel if mobility is not an issue.

Palais de Chine was a great place to stay in Taiwan - very convenient to the train from the airport and the Metro and high-speed rail. The buffet breakfast was excellent as was the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant! Rooms were comfortable and luxurious.
We had a few hiccups but everything worked out, so I'm content!

Location is very good and directly opposite of Taipei Main Station which connect well to other parts of Taiwan. Front desk staffs are polite and able to assist on any question that I have. 100% I will return when I come back to Taipei... Kudos to the teams.

The interior takes you to another world, the staff were all super friendly and helpful
The breakfast, pastries were stale, bacon over cooked. Hmm I expected more from a 5 star not a basic buffet, especially when staying in executive rooms.

Super convenient location. Right next to Q Square which is one of the nicer malls in Taipei and also close to the subway and bus stations
It had an opulent but haunted mansion vibe. Lights were very dim and the decor was reminiscent of props in a Tim Burton movie with splashes of red. I hated it and felt very spooked out. There was also a weird painting in the room of a half man half lion. I couldn’t sleep and was very distressed. The hotel did agree to let me check out a day earlier without penalty.

Service was good immediately at entrance
Combine 2 single beds instead of giving a proper double bed. Ended up sleeping only on single bed. 😴

Very centrally located near the main train station.
Staff were very attentive. Had use of the executive floor which was great for pre-dinner drinks etc. Polly, which managed the executive floor is excellent. She went above her duties to help us with directions etc. she even managed to get us a table at the 3 star Michelin Le Palais at last minute notice.
Place is a little dark. Understand that they are trying to create a moody atmosphere, but just a little too dark.

Staff were pleasant and friendly but majority could not speak English and were not very attentive. No comments on breakfast as I booked rooms only. Location of hotel is okay.
The rooms were rather dark even with all the lights switched on. The hotel lobby and rooms have a rather musky smell and it looked old and worn. Instead of placing the amenities like toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. in the rooms, guests are required to pick them up from the check-in lobby which was rather inconvenient. What surprised me most was cars were not allowed to drive on to the hotel's driveway even though it was raining heavily. Our driver had to literally stopped us by the roadside in front of the hotel entrance. Our family including my 3 years old granddaughter had to make our way to the hotel entrance in the heavy rain. No one from the hotel came to offer us an umbrella! When I asked the staff why several vans were allowed to park along the driveway while we had to walk in the rain to reach the entrance, we were told these vans had applied for special permits. I am unable to comprehend this rational because we are all paying guests too!!!

Room is spacious and clean. Good location and friendly staff.
Breakfast spread can afford abit more variety on different days. Pool is not within the hotel building, need to cross over to other building along the street to use the pool. Lights cannot be fully switched off which can be disturbing for sleep.

Great location near Taipei main Station. Staff are really friendly and professional. Enviromentally friendly by providing toiletries only if you need them, less wastage.
Very clean room.
The lighting is a bit dark, you always need to have all the lights on even during the day, kind of conflicting their idea of less wastage.
At the same time, now that they have a new building in front of it although not in use yet, guests will have a privacy issue on hand because the sheer curtain would not be enough, and pulling the blinds down completely would make the room feel so claustrophobic without any natural light.
