Good location and environment
Impolite senior staff's services, very old and not clean cottage, fewer amenities, not value in money. In detail, we got very poor staff's services as we've never met before. The staff expressed his anger and mad to my family, and broke into the cottage once I asked for some amenities.

The room had a great view of the lake and the Onsen had a great view of Mt Fuji. Both great factors for the hotel.
3pm Check-ins and that the hotel bus service only runs from the station in the morning and afternoon!

The location was amazing. Waking up see Mount Fuji out our window was great. Lake Kawaguchi is a beautiful place to visit with so much to see. The hotel is lovely even though it is showing its age. The breakfast is wonderful and the ladies serving were very helpful.
Could use a paint job in a few places.

Lovely staff, who welcomed us very warm. always wanted to help us. The view on the sea is beautiful and we also had the Mountain View. I can recommend everyone to book the Japanese room. This is the real experience. We loved it and we could calm down finally.☺️ The room was big enough.

The hotel is excellent. It has an old feeling (in a good way), and it is perfectly located just at one side of the lake. It is very calm, and I had the fortune to have a view to Mt Fuji from my window. Also, it has an observatory in the tower where you can take pictures from all around.
There are some areas that require some maintenance, like the movies room, and the piano in the 2nd floor hall.

Although the hotel needs some updating, our experience here was wonderful. Quiet, clean, good location, great breakfast, beautiful onsen. The staff was A-1! 2Next time we would stay longer
Like I said the hotel needs some updating, paint, carpets, etc. Also the upstairs bar area could be better.

The Hotel is situated in an ideal location overlooking the lake. It is a historic hotel and I liked the feel of faded splendour prevalent in the place. Bike hire is nearby and we would recommend hiring electric bikes to cycle round lake Kawaguchiko. The bike offers its own non-electric bikes but we didn´t try them. Don´t go further on your bike to attempt Saiko Lake as the road here is not safe for cyclists. The shuttle bus however offers a good service to visit the sites at Lake Saiko. We had hoped to swim in the Lake but apparently this is forbidden. I suspect it is because about half of the Japanese population can´t swim and it is easier just to stop everybody going into the water. We had a paddle (probably also against the rules) and the water was very warm, and would have been lovely for swimming. The Onsen in the Hotel ...at lest on the men´s side is superb with a stunning panoramic view over the lake and Mount Fuji. The ladies side is screened, presumably for modesty and sadly the views are obscured.

The location, the authenticity , the tatami mattress, pillow, blanket are are world class. I like the vintage feel and the service of the staff. I will return.
I had to leave the hotel for my Japan adventure.

The gentleman at the reception did everything he could to make our stay better and helped us send our luggage to another destination.
Honestly, it is not a 3 star hotel as it may have been in the 70s or when it was built. The equipment is really outdated, beds are so old they squeak with every move, the pillows are very uncomfortable, the bathroom was not clean and did not have the standard Japanese toilet. The water in the spa was barely warm. The breakfast is average, you can get better in many places in Japan. Considering all the above it was quite overpriced. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience, except for the receptionist who was very professional and pleasant.

The view from the bath of Mt fuji in the morning is really good, however due to privacy, the lower part of the windows are opaque so you cant see the Mt if you're in the water, you got to be standing.
Staff was so nice, even gave us a ride to the station on their way back.

Location is good as near Kawaguchiko Lake. Room can see bit of Mt. Fuji and Japanese breakfast is good. In house Onsen is a good experience.

The service was really great. Everyone in the hotel was very nice and helpful. They are able to send a car to the bus station which was very helpful. They also drove us back there early, which was amazing! The view was lovely of the lake from our room and it was in a great location!
My only complaint is the onsen. The view would have been lovely and just like the picture, but it seems they put up privacy screens after taking the picture on their site. So when I went, I found out it blocks the entire view from the bath. I would suggest a one-way privacy screen, so we can see out, but people can't see in.

Breakfast was great! The Japanese room was spacious with lake view. The room with western-style beds had Mount Fuji view. We were very happy with everything. The onsen was great.

The hotel is very authentic and full of history, could do some more maintenance and replacement to uplift customers’ experience. Room is very spacious and has a great view of the lake. The best part is the onsen which is available from 3pm to 10am next day :)

Quiet. Not crowded. View from onsen was great. Breakfast was good Japanese food.
Little out dated facilities. Sauna was not working, onsen bubble section did not work.

The view was great, the staff was friendly, we had a restful holiday here.
It is located right next to the lake, it is convenient to walk around the lake from the hotel. We had access to free play room with billiard, chess, and fussball which we enjoyed during our stay in the rainy days. The hotel offers free coffee from 8-10am, and a shuttle bus to the train station.
It was good, nothing to complain

We stayed in a Japanese-style room for two nights and we really liked our time at the hotel. Altough, we were not able to see Mt. Fuji from our futon beds (too cloudy). However, we had a lovely view on Kawaguchi lake from our room :) The staff was super helpful and welcoming. This hotel's highlight is the onsen bath on its top floor which is super relaxing and has an awesome view on the lake, town, and Mt. Fuji (if no clouds).

The view is great, they allowed us to check in earlier and prepared the onsen for us right away.
The personal were very polite. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in the hotel while we went to climb Mt. Fuji. They also have a shuttle to the bus/train station in the morning every half an hour until 10 am.
The only thing I would like to improve is that there was a bit of a smell sometimes at the corridors.

Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Very nice location.
Facility seemed pretty run down with old carpets and furniture. Bath house had visible residue on stools and mirrors indicating cleanliness level inadequate.
