The position is excellent. The terrace is a great size.

The apartment is very tired. Wall paper peeling off the walls. The soft furnishings smell bad and are dirty. Low budget beds and pillows. And don't bother trying to get a car into the parking space underneath, its for a motorbike....

Location of the property excellent for walking around the centre of Roses. Plenty of shops and restaurants open even at the end of October. We didn’t use the car for a few days because there is enough to do on foot. Property is a good size for 3-4 people. Pool was still open on the site but we went in the sea.

Some of the kitchen crockery is a bit tired and could be replaced. The apartment is behind other apartment buildings so the amount of sun onto the terrace is limited so on the off season it could a bit cool on the terrace. In high season it would be a benefit. As per other reviews the parking is tricky in the apartment car park and the internet is on and off, but if you know about this in advance it is not a problem.

The flat, apartment, or room, whatever they want to call what they rent as a hotel room, was in very bad condition. My first impression was the smell of chemical detergent that I felt when I opened the door that I had to open the three windows to ventilate the whole place, that mixed with the high smell of humidity that was clearly felt behind the strong smell of disinfectants, an odor that it was more palpable when I opened the cabinets to remove a pot or silverware. Let me tell you that this is terrible for anyone's lungs, but since I had no other way out and did not want after 9 hours of driving by car to get into discussions with their employees, I left it like that. The walls of the lower floor of the apartment, where the living room and kitchen are located, were in very bad condition, the paint was peeling off the walls, which means I was also breathing in all that dust and chemicals that were coming off the walls. The WIFI worked very badly, to the point that I had to use my WIFI because the signal was very weak and it was cut off all the time. They told they will fix it and they never did. The parking space is not a parking space, that ramp was designed to exit the upper level of the outdoor parking lot, it is not a parking space, you have invented that, I was not going to leave the car on that slope, with the wheel stuck to the wall, the parking brake and in a gear, so I parked outside all week.

The apartment is near the beach and as it is ground floor it is easy to access the pool The kitchen was well equipped compared to some rental properties There are TV channels in Spanish, French and a couple in German. We had plenty of space.

When we arrived it felt like the apartment was in need of a freshen up. The surfaces felt greasy, there were other people’s hairs all over the floor and the oven top was grimy- obviously hygiene and cleanliness during times of Covid 19 infection are a concern and this should be a rental priority during a pandemic. Some of the lights didn’t work, the air conditioning smelt musty, we had to search for the sheets and make the beds ourselves. The internet was poor. I did email to ask for assistance as I had a work zoom call one day and couldn’t connect but my request wasn’t answered. We did ask the next morning after arrival if we could have a refund and move out, especially as the noise levels from neighbours in the block and groups of youths in the street was very loud until 1 am and we couldn’t sleep, but we’re told it wasn’t possible to have our money back. The immo company did send cleaners though and a workman to fix the lights and service the air conditioning the next day. The parking space wasn’t big enough to fit our car in so we had to park on the street. I did ask the immo company for a possible other space but all they suggested was that we park in someone else’s space with an apology note left on the windscreen which wasn’t settling. We left the apartment 10 times cleaner (and disinfected throughout) than how we had found it the night we checked in- so if anyone moved in the next day they would have had a cleaner experience. A new lick of paint, some curtains in the lounge and bedroom and a thorough clean would be a great idea to spruce the place up. Little things like the panel missing on the washing machine, broken furniture stashed in the wash room, the fridge storage boxes being cracked, the wall paper peeling off and the walls half painted around the TV unit add to the overall feeling of the place being a little tired and frayed around the edges.
