Lovely rooms and great location, with easy walks to museums and restaurants.

Stayed with friends as we had a wedding nearby. Rooms where immaculate, bathrooms where spotless. I travel for work & stay in lots of hotels, this was different there was character & both of the owners where just lovely- even asking if we needed them to drop us at the wedding venue. Nothing was a problem for them al all. Really couldn’t recommend enough, was sad to leave! Oh also, breakfast was delicious, a great bonus!
I wish I was able to spend more time in my comfortable room (room 2) but for the purpose of the stay we where only going to be sleeping there then heading home. Nothing negative to say, location is perfect for lots to do, owners are very friendly & attentive.

Room was clean and covid secure. Just right for walking into centre. Friendly, nothing too much trouble. Even booked our evening meal for us which was very welcome.

This is what you dream of when you think of a bed & breakfast, it's a warm home, a comfy bed, a great, and I mean that, a GREAT breakfast. Also, the warmest, kindest host you can imagine.

Walking distance to town
The hostess either disapproves of people who return to the B&b late (midnight) or is not tolerant of LGBTQ+
My partner and I paid for a 2 night stay and returned to the B&B on the first (and only) evening with a take away pizza. We let ourselves in quietly and started to eat our meal in the dining room as we had previously been invited to do. Within minutes, the landlady was downstairs in her dressing gown to let us know that she heard us come in. She appeared to be very unhappy that we were not in bed. No actual accusations of us waking anyone rather than treating us as an annoyance as opposed to paying guests. It was an extremely unpleasant experience, causing us to leave the premises at first light and abandoning our weekend in the town entirely. I appreciate that this establishment is very highly rated both here and elsewhere but cannot condone this very poor behaviour towards guests. Still do not understand what the landlady's issues were, leaving me to assume only that it is our lifestyle that is disapproved of.

Very nice welcome. Very comfortable bed and spacious bedroom. Exceptionally clean and well looked after. Nice neighbourhood and a short walk via the ancient Devorgilla Bridge over the River Nith to the centre of Dumfries and riverside walks.
There was nothing I didn't like.
