I defenitily recommand this hostel/guesthouse

Everything was great, well organised and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly! Breakfast was perfect and enough. Furthermore, the location was perfect and I always felt comfortable. Thanks for all the staff members and the host! I had three wonderful weeks in Tunis which I will never forget.

Staff are accommodating and you can wake them up anytime especially when you arrive very early or very late.

Superb

Great place! Friendly Staff. We arrived at 2am by car and they came all the way to the street to meet us and take us into the medina.

I was travelling with family and didnt realize it was a shared bathroom, since we booked a full room. I just wouldnt recommend to go with your family, but the place is great.

Awesome location, warm staff, clean. Worth it!

Warm welcome, clean rooms and nice breakfast with some local sweets.

The towels are not provided and if you do not bring yours it is a bit of a challenge to have them regular size. The bathroom needs some maintenance but otherwise all good! Recommended

Excellent choice for those wishing to experience Medina lifestyle

Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff! We requested for airport pick up and drop off - thanks a lot to Mr. Youssef for the service. We also received great recommendations for traditional dining within the medina - this was important, especially we stayed during Christmas holiday.

Wifi didn't reach our room (not a major concern, since it's easy to connect in the common areas) If guests wish to use the fridge, they must label their bags properly. We lost some of the food we placed in the fridge. One of the guests may have thought it's food available for anyone.

Nice hostel in the Medina of Tunis

- It's a beautiful traditional house in a nice area in the Medina of Tunis. I always felt very safe walking at night back to the hostel. - Very friendly staff. All people were very nice. - Nice breakfast.

- Wifi is terrible... almost non-existing. Forget about it during your stay there. - Water in the shower was sometimes warm, sometimes hot, sometimes cold... but it was fine. It can just be an issue during the cold months.

Great cosy hotel in the Medina

Beautiful place, nice roof terrace to relax in. Good location in the centre of the old medina. Comfortable beds and spotlessly clean throughout. I would love to say again!

Despite booking months beforehand the hotel was full on the first day I arrived. However the staff went above and beyond to look after me. They arranged for me to stay at another hotel, paid for my taxi and then picked me up the next morning and brought me to Dar Ya for the rest my dates.

Good value for money

The property is nicely done and well maintained. The staff is friendly and welcoming!

Private rooms can be slightly loud as breakfast is also served on the ground floor, in the patio, where rooms are located.

The hotel is right in the Medina with traditional architecture. The staff, especially Jousef, are very helpful, friendly and at the same time professional. The breakfast is a full breakfast, not just coffee and bread. Also eggs and fruits. And it's super clean and tidy.

A bit overrated hostel in the centre of medina

Really beautiful old house in the centre of medina (although not easy to find for the first time). Kind terrace on the roof. Staff is really nice and helpful.

When we came to the hostel it appeared no towels were available... can you imagine? After all-day journey at almost 40 degrees outside you can't even wash yourself. We booked double room and got dormitory with 3 bunk beds, thanks god for private use. And a single fan wasn't efficient for such big room - really hot at night. Wi-Fi connection was very unstable and more often it didn't work than it did. Breakfast poor as in similar places - eggs, toast, cake, jam. Not the best value for money.

Very good

Cozy, authentic architecture, that gives you a perfect base for experiencing the culture of Tunisia. The rooftop is perfect for silent evenings, while overlooking the whole Medina. The staff is always friendly and try their best to help you out. We had our reservations about the shared toilets, but they are plenty and always clean. Overall a place to recommend.

The rooms had very little privacy due to the windows directly to the breakfast area in the middle of the house. Additionaly, there's no window to the outside, wich leaves with either inviting the whole house to watch you sleeping, or waking up with air thick enough to cut through.

Nice spot in the Medina

The location and quiet neighborhood. Excellent breakfast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great ambiance. No view from the room, but the rooftop terrace made up for that.

People were smoking in common areas.

The Medina experience

Picturesque, colorful house and gentle staff. Renovated area with charming cobbled streets.

The price (30euros) for a room squeezed between the corridor and the reading room which gets hot in summer is a bit over the top. Besides other guests can see through the lattice windows so that privacy isn't garanteed. Careful when coming back to the hostel through the medina in the late afternoon. The shops start closing before 18.00 and all are closed before sunset. I didn't expect that. You may then find yourself finding your way through a maze of dark deserted alleys. Having experienced it, I could feel this wasn't really safe and it was confirmed to me by locals. Also the issue is that dining options close to the hostel are very limited if you do not wish to walk through those streets. Only the Sidi Ben Arous street has a bit of activity in the evening (in summer) till 22.00. So in a word, a cool location in daytime, not in the evening.

Highly recommended

The hosts were welcoming and made you feel like family. When I ran into some trouble they went above and beyond to help me. Good breakfast, great location and beautiful courtyard. Would always come back!

Great location and better than expected.

A beautiful hostel and very clean. Amazing location. Host and hostel staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. They went above and beyond for us and made our stay here a remembebrable one. I would highly recommend and will visit again.

Superb

The design of the place and the location were great and the staff was very friendly. The airport transfer around midnight was very helpful and the driver explained a lot about the city during the drive.

The wifi did not work inside the room and the room was a tiny little bit dark.
