Situated close and within easy walking to the Junction and Township. This chalet sleeps 7 comfortably in a 1 bedroom plus mezzanine floor. Bedroom 1 furnished with a queen bed while the mezzanine floor is furnished with 1 double and 3 single beds, also a TV nook. Living area leads out onto a sunny deck. This chalet is heated with a heat pump offering instant warmth. 42' plasma Smart TV with freeview and DVD player. Drying room, washing machine and dryer plus lock up cupboard for all your ski equipment. Guests are to clean the property before leaving. If the property is not left how you found it on arrival, appropriate cleaning charges will apply and be deducted from the deposit. The property is inspected after each visit. If you want to have the property cleaned please request this service, a cleaning fee is required for this service. $240.00 Refundable Damage and Cleaning Bond Required. $160.00/ night Sunday - Thursday $260.00/ night Friday - Saturday Mardi Gras minimum 3 nights booking @ $600.00 per night plus refundable bond of $500.00 This is a great central base for all year round activities in the Central Plateau, such as: * Tongariro Alpine Crossing, Skiing/ Snowboarding * Mountain Biking, Tramping * Trout Fishing, Kayaking Special conditions: * Minimum stay 2 nights during the Winter Season * Smoking permitted Outside only * Cancellation policy applies * You are responsible for your own toiletries, soap, toilet rolls etc, cleaning products are supplied for cleaning prior to departure. * All rubbish must be removed from property on departure. NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels); remove all rubbish. PLEASE NOTE: There is a security camera operating at the property this is located on the outside of the chalet and it sole purpose is for security only.

Good spot with everything you need and close to the key spots in Ohakune. Small living area made for pretty cramped quarters when the weather didnt play ball for outside activities, especially with young kids, but thats no fault of the owner! Might suggest putting stays on the windows in the loft so they dont open all the way (especially since they open from the bottom). Thanks for having us!

Great place for our family of 5, everything we needed. Very well equipped kitchen. Opposite end of town to the main area, but it's only a 2 minute drive. Nice quiet location. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back!

We loved our stay here at the chalet, our small children had a lot of fun going up and down the stairs and loved seeing the snow for the first time. Great location to the mountain, and a short walk into town. Would love to visit again

Value for money and situated close enough to Waiouru which is where we needed to be. Close to some good restaurants and Ruapehu. My fault entirely but I didn't see that we had to bring our own sheets and towels. That said, the owners were able to organise and fix at short notice. Very helpful.

We arrived at this lovely chalet on Friday to walk the Tongariro crossing on Saturday. We stayed there for 2 nights. It was absolutely spotless and they provided everything for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Super close to Ohakune village. Thank you so much 👌

It is a beautiful cottage! Very well equipped, clean and so cute yet spacious. Located extremely well, close to town but also to trailheads and skifields. Would definitely stay again!

We skied for one day and had a second going rock climbing and doing walks as the mountain was closed. Great little place, superb location and easy walk to everywhere. Only 20min from the mountain - I'd definitely come back here and there's room for more people. Drying wet ski gear might be an issue with more parties but wasn't an issue for us, thank you Gary and Keri for having us! :)

We are very thankful to Gaz & Keri for allowing us to rebook each year as covid lockdowns hit 2020 and 2021. It was super unfortunate the snow season wasn’t at its peak, luckily our last day here we managed to take our kids for their ever first experience. Kids loved the set up of the chalet. Perfect place for a family like ours. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back!
