Cozy Haven: A Lakeside Cottage Near Acadia
About this house rental
Situated in Orland, this attractive house for $413 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Cozy Haven is a new year-round private cottage built in 2020, situated among evergreens just 100 feet from the Toddy Pond shore with 242 feet of frontage. It’s just 7/10 of a mile off Rte. 1, heading to Bar Harbor. Enjoy cooking fresh Maine lobster and blueberry pie in a full kitchen, or grill in the open air on a gas grill. The living room is the perfect place to sit and relax after a day of adventure in Acadia or kayaking right on the pond, while you watch your favorite program on a 55" 4K flat screen TV while streaming Sling TV. Rest comfortably upstairs on a king-sized bed in the master bedroom or a double/twin bunk bed in the 2nd bedroom, or a queen-sized sofa bed in the family room. There is a full bath with shower located upstairs and a half bath downstairs. Listening to the loon calls and watching the sunset on the lake from the dock or the screened gazebo on the deck gives a sense of tranquility any time of day. Parking for 2 vehicles is available for each cottage. Guests for our 3Havens all share private access to the dock and swim platform. We recommend that guests use water shoes while wading in the lake. Each unit has its own fire pit area and free use of 2 kayaks and a canoe (a waiver of liability must be signed for usage). We provide approved life-preservers in the bin by the kayaks. Wood for the fire pits may be purchased at Hannaford Supermarket or various roadside stands. Prices run from $5-7 per bundle. The dock goes in the lake the 2-3rd week of May and is removed the 1st week of November. We like to leave our guests to themselves but try to be available when needed. However, should you need us for anything, we live on the same property as the cottages. Our other 2 vacation rentals are: Toddy Haven, a brand new first floor apartment furnished with a full kitchen, 1 full bath, sleeping up to 5; and Rocky Haven, a home away from home with washer, dryer, and dishwasher, sleeping up to 8. You can find each of them on our website: www.3Havens.com. No animals are allowed on our properties due to family members with severe asthma issues. No exceptions.

There is so much to love about this place. So peaceful. So secure.
In addition, it is clean, feels new, and is welcoming.
Mark (owner) gave us a welcoming call on check-in to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction.
We loved our stay and left feeling refreshed. : )

The house overall is very clean and well kept with modern finishes and simple decor. Getting to and from town is relatively easy by car compared to other locations on Toddy. Access to the lake is relatively easy and not overly steep with a nice dock and swimming platform! However, parking is very tight on a steep hill and the location is difficult to navigate if any party members have mobility difficulties. We had expected a little more space from the photographs but what you see is what you get. Window units did well to cool off the upstairs rooms, but guests downstairs were a little warm on a few days. Be sure to read the contract well prior to booking as the hosts do have a few additional requirements compared to other rentals we have stayed in. Overall I do recommend this host and location and we did greatly enjoy our stay.

The cottage was nice. Very thankful we didn’t meet another vehicle on the road to get there. It was very narrow. Once there, everything in the cottage was great. I didn’t realize how close the neighbors would be, but it worked out fine. Loved that it was easy to get to Acadia for a day trip.

First vacation with the grand babies.
This property was a wonderful fit for two small children ages 3 and 1. There were four adults and two children on our trip. For a small cottage it fit 6 people very comfortably. We had everything we needed to make this an amazing first vacation for our grandchildren. We hope to visit again.

Beautiful Maine coast rental
The property was extra clean with nice amenities & thoughtful attention to comfort. It was cozy. Master bed was comfy & linens were nice. Mark was most accommodating! We highly recommend for a couple who likes a bit of space & privacy. Views of Toddy pond with kayaks & fire pits are a nice extra. BTW: Toddy Pond is a large lake!

Perfect spot to get away from it all!
Where to start….this spot is a gem! Great location for sight seeing and even better location to relax and enjoy the serene setting of the lake (pond). House is beautiful, immaculately clean with great touches like a screened in porch. The floating dock was a big hit. Thank you Fowler’s for being wonderful hosts and sharing your lovely spot with us. We will be back!

Magical
We stayed in Cozy Haven for a week - 2 adults and 2 older kids (14/11) and found it delightful. The cabin is brand new and exactly as listed. It’s extremely well-stocked (a basket of breakfast foods, full first-aid kit, lots of towels, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen). The lake is magical - it’s very quiet and the dock provides perfect swimming access. We got up early every day to head to Acadia for hikes but made it home by mid-afternoon to enjoy the lake and fire pit. We used the provided kayaks and life vests almost daily. The lakefront is shared with the neighboring cottage (same owners) but there’s plenty of room to spread out. Mark and Laurie are great hosts with clear communication. We can’t wait to come back.

Today pond was a beautiful place for a nice little get away! It’s in a nice private area and having the water right out front with the dock is so beautiful. The fire pit and benches were very nice as well, we had a bonfire two out of the 3 nights. The cabin itself was fine, beds were comfy, nice linens, things were clean, it’s a little outdated and the bathroom is off of the porch so you have to go out into the cold to use the bathroom which is not ideal. But overall it was a great experience, the owners did a good job communicating and left breakfast items/snacks which was nice. It was a beautiful location and we had a great time!!

Peaceful and Relaxing Cabin
Enjoyed Toddy Haven. Was relaxing and peaceful. Cabin was exceptionally clean. Had some trouble getting out of steep driveway so suggest parking at top if you don't have 4WD.

Lovely spot on Toddy Pond
Our family enjoyed a few days at Toddy Haven over Labor Day weekend. It was a peaceful spot to retreat to after exploring Acadia National Park. The rental is a classic 1930s cabin with updated amenities. We look forward to renting again!

Beautiful spot on the pond
We had a great time at the house and pond. The location was perfect. Close to lots of restaurants and hiking spots. It’s about an hour drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Great pond mountain is a few minutes away. It was a nice hike and beautiful view. The house came with a full kitchen, kayaks, canoes and fire pit. Don’t be discouraged by the term pond. The pond was pretty large. We look forward to a future trip here!

Perfect week at Toddy
It was a great week at Toddy Pond! Toddy Haven has everything we needed and more. Super clean and plenty of room. Such a great location, close to everything, but quiet and relaxing too. Plenty of fishing and swimming all day and sounds of the loons every night! We could not have for a better week! Highly recommend Toddy Haven!

Summer Oasis
I wish we had a longer vacation to enjoy this lovely getaway spot on Toddy Pond. The swimming was great, the loons were friendly and so were the fish. The cabin in a quintessential lake home but with many upgrades and very well equipped. The kids are ready to go back ASAP.

Everything a "5 Star" per our 5 yr old
We loved our stay at Toddy Haven! Everything from the power outage (caused by a big storm) to the little personal touches made this experience an extremely memorable one for us. Mark came out to check on us and while we were chatting, the lights came on! (My 5yr old thought he performed magic). Both our girls loved the bunkhouse and my husband got to build a fire two nights in a row, which he thoroughly enjoyed! We would recommend this house and property for anyone looking for a place of solace, beauty, and inspiration, especially in the fall! Thank you, Fowler's!

Wonderful cottage on a beautiful Maine lake
Our second year at this location. It's a great spot on a beautiful crystal clear lake in Maine. Cottage is exactly as described by listing, very quiet and peaceful. Easy day trip to Acadia for day hikes and great walks along the rocky shores of Bar Harbor. Owner's are friendly and responsive to any questions or requests.

What an incredible trip! The house was perfect. Attention to detail was second to none. We had a great time fishing, kayaking and swimming in the lake. Having the kayaks available to use along with fishing gear was awesome. Mark and Laurie were the perfect hosts. Linens and towels were provided and the kitchen was well stocked with the essentials needed to cook. Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Highly recommend this great getaway.

Two weeks at Toddy Haven.
My kids and I spent two weeks at Toddy Haven. We found the camp clean and we'll supplied. The location is absolutely beautiful! The kids spent days swimming in the lake and enjoyed boating on it as well. I've been vacation in Maine for the last 15 years and have stayed in many camps but I'd have to say Toddy Haven in the quintessential Maine camp! The owner Mark called twice to check on us. He asked if everything was ok and gave a few recommendations on places to eat. He also made it clear if we needed anything or if there was a problem that he was 15 minutes away and to give him a call. All in all, we had a great vacation and would recommend Toddy Haven to anyone that is looking for a camp on Toddy pond!

Fabulous Place!
Over the years my husband and I have stayed in several very nice cottage rentals on Toddy Pond and Patton Pond but we both agree that Toddy Haven is at the top of our list. As a former Bar Harbor innkeeper, I appreciate attention to detail in our accommodations and Mark and Laurie have surpassed my expectations. They truly understand the meaning of hospitality. The cottage is very clean, kitchen is well stocked, soft linens and thirsty towels are abundant. The waterfront was wonderful for swimming and the private doc is excellent for fishing and watching the sunset. We paddled kayaks and fished for hours (all the gear is provide). Evenings were spent by the lakeside fire snacking on somemor’s (Oh - yum). Many, Many thanks to Mark and Laurie for setting the stage for a fantastic vacation filled with happy memories. Looking forward to returning to this magical spot!

Wonderful family Get Away that provided long lasting memories
Our family (4 adults and 2 children) spent several days at Toddy Haven and had a wonderful time! Although it rained for the first day or so, it did not stop us from catching lots of fish off the dock, enjoying the snacks Laurie and Mark left for us and reading in the warm and cozy living room. Toddy Haven was clean and well stocked with dishes, towels and soft bedding. The Bunk House was a favorite for our son and grandson with a heater and comfortable bunkbeds. The property is only a few steps from crystal clear Toddy Pond and can we were able to sit on the dock and see the children while we sat on the enclosed porch. Fishing gear and life jackets were ready for us to use and the four kayaks made fishing easy and the sunset off both the dock and from the kayaks were fantastic! We would love to return again to this almost magical place and make even more memories. Thank you Mark and Laurie for sharing Toddy Haven with us!

We had a great time at Toddy Haven. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. The lake is very clean and warm. We stayed 9 days and made day trips to Acadia and Schodic peninsula 4 or 5 times. Kayaks were great! We enjoyed wild blueberries and bagels that Mark and Laurie gave us upon our arrival! Thank you Mark and Laurie!

Kayaks were so much fun. We passed the time kayaking, laying in the hammock and swimming. The sunsets are amazing! We hope to return again.

The locations was perfect for all the places we wanted to visit. Almost equal distance from Bar Harbor, Belfast, and Bangor. Also close to Sandy Beach and Lincolnville Beach, which our young kids loved. Toddy Pond is tranquil and beautiful. We did some kayaking and fished off our little private beach area.
The camp was very clean with all new furniture, a big TV and our bed was comfortable. We were happy with everything and plan to stay again. Thank you!
