Very nice private beach. Very good snorkeling.
Comfortable rooms.
Good breakfast.
The price! A bit expensive but it’s Bora Bora!

The location was great, the bungalow was amazing, and facilities were good.
We weren’t be able to have our room before 2 pm, and the wait to access to the room was a bit long. The food wasn’t great; breakfast was basic for the price!

Beautiful beach at the hotel. Walkable to the public beach (matira beach) which is also very beautiful. I had the best dessert at the restaurant (pineapple moleaux). Walkable between 2 quickie marts for snacks, drinks and water.
Only kayak was complimentary. All other water sports activity has a fee, even SUP. That was disappointing.

Great spot
Asked to see if we could upgrade and pay for a beachfront bungalow but they were apparently full..however my cousin came from another hotel 7 hours later and got a free upgrade…we had a lot of rooms booked and we were the primary’s so was somewhat disappointed.

perfectly located on the island. very good options for dining . super friendly & helpful staff. I took a garden room for the value. had an excellent view from my private balcony - just walked across the quiet road to swim ❤️ there’s a lovely gift shop on property as well. I walked to Avis to pick up my rental & there’s a small grocery just across from them. fantastic location.

Bora Bora was beautiful. The temperature was beautiful and warm The Maitai Location was just across the road from a lovely wee beach which had lovely sand, comfy deck chairs, palm trees for shade, beautiful warm water with excellent snorkelling within metres of the beach. Snorkelling gear and beach towels available at no charge from hut near beach. And not too crowded. Our room view was incredibly beautiful and the air-con worked great when we needed it. Nice balcony for enjoying the scene.
Most of the staff were quite flippant and off handed. Regularly having conversations with other staff in their language while serving us which I found very rude i.e. while standing in front of me organising bill. Language barrier was bigger than I expected and often things ordered were not what came. I do appreciate that English is their 2nd or 3rd language and it is part of the experience of travel. A few times we were charged for the wrong things.

No WiFi in the room, only in the lobby

The bedroom with beach view is nice.
I didn’t try the food. One day we were tempted to try the breakfast but I did not feel the variety worth the cost so went to the local shops instead.
Near local shops and restaurants.
The internet was pretty good considering it is an island.
The private beach in front of the hotel is very nice for snorkeling.
In 3 days they never had beach towels for us, always “waiting for the laundry”.
The staff are not very responsive on booking, they could have confirmed things before our arrival, I sent 2x a message asking if they would be waiting for us in the ferry and they did not respond. In the end they were there, but a confirmation could have make us more settled.
I saw people trying to book excursions and spots were not available. I booked ours in advance, so if you want to make sure you have a place book in advance.

Local family run, nice beach and view, very close to restaurants etc.

Our view was perfect. Room was comfortable and spacious. The personal sun lounges were great just outside our door. Lots of shaded areas. Water activities were very well organised. Tama and Raimana we're very informative about operating boats and advice on best spots to visit around the island lagoon. Coral reef just in front of our room was teaming with fish. Food at restaurant was delicious. Locals around the area were friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved it!
Leaving!

overwater bungalows were great, location close to Moorea beach, nice beach vibes.
the originally assigned “ocean view” room had no ocean view… After 30 mins of calls a “cancellation” freed up another room which was much better than what we originally booked so not complaining but if we stayed in the original room we’d feel taken for a ride.
the reef next to the hotel is a bit deep for easy snorkeling

Breakfast

good little snorkelling beach across the road from it - little else to write home about.
the accommodation offered very little for the price it charges. the bathroom was a shocker - no soap dishes - your used soap stood on the wooden bench top - leaving white stains everywhere- no soap or shampoo holder in the shower either. You had to drop everything on the floor then bend down every time and look for it. It had two single bases that were put together to make a double bed - VERY uncomfortable to sleep as a couple. We stayed a night at the Tahiti Airport Motel and paid much less but it had a better bed and a much decent bathroom.

the location to Matira beach. the bed was comfortable!
the property is run down and the rooms are in need of an update.

Great value for money. Exceptional service for the price and the restaurant meals were delicious. The hotel also allowed us an early check in at 10am which we appreciated as we were exhausted from our overnight flight.

December is a quiet month which suits us. It's well known as a month with some rain though.
Internet frequently dropped out or failed to connect

We stayed in an ocean view room with a spectacular view of the lagoon. Loved it. Very good location. Walking distance to restaurants and markets. Room is very clean and the housekeeping is very good. Internet is slow from time to time but who cares. You are in Bora Bora. Activity office is very helpful arranging things to do for you. We did not eat breakfast in their restaurant but make our own tea and bought bread and fruit from the market.

The room was clean and spacious. The full day tour we did with Lagoonarium crew was a lot of fun, highly recommended
Typical hotel, not very personal. We stayed at Village Temanuatu as well and preferred that, smaller bungalows and more intimate atmosphere

Staff was so friendly & helpful in getting transport sorted. Even though we were on the main road it was still quiet at our room.
Not the extreme best view on the island, but the view was still spectacular.

ocean view room was fabulous
grounds were well maintained
staff was very friendly
It was a little tired. Could use some TLC

nice, silent, comfortable
everything was so expensive. no bicycles and for a glass of water you had to pay.
also back and forth from Vaitape transport was over priced. I wouldn’t go back.

Nice & Friendly Reception Desk Staff
(1) I was scolded by hot water 4 times... The water intermittently turned extremely hot without warning!!!
(2) No instructions on how to call the Front Desk (*you know, so I could call and speak to a Manager about being scolded by hot water 4 times)
(3) They took my money MONTHS in advance WAY before the no fee/free cancellation date
(4) It's kinda hard to figure out how to get the shower to work (*I have more than 1 Master's Degree from a Top University in the U.S.) as it's not really as intuitive as you would think it should be
(5) Wi-Fi is very weak and spotty at best, if you absolutely need Wi-Fi for whatever reason (*e.g., work) do not stay here...
However, if you go downstairs and sit very close to the Wi-Fi Router located in the restaurant, then you'll be able to get full and reliable internet service
(6) Americans/United Kingdom Residents and others that only speak English, there's only 1 channel that's in English and it doesn't even come in clearly - it's CNN. All of the other channels (*12 of them) are in French
(7) Shower doesn't have a shower curtain (*but apparently that's how they do it over here, because my hotel in Tahiti had the same set up in the bathroom = no shower curtain)
(8) There's a huge open area between the sleeping area and bathroom, and so there's no privacy whatsoever - which means while you're using the bathroom ALL of your bodily functions can be heard by anyone else that is in the hotel room with you :-(

Big hotel resort, with own private beach. few minutes walk to Matira public beach - which was breathtaking. rooms big and spacious, massive king size bed, very comfy. nice patio to sit and coffee making facilities. I had ocean view - over looking OWBs. free beach towels and snorkels, and activities such as kayaking. loved my stay. great value for money.
my standard ocean view room was quite a hike up a steep hill, which makes sense as wouldn’t have the view otherwise. didn’t bother me, but may not be good for elderly etc. Porter took my luggage so wasnt an issue for me I was happy with my room
7.0
The strategic location near the public beach and its own part of the beach
The beach seems dirty and not well cared

The place is good, the staff super nice, and good location.
The food was too expensive for the price, I had a family in the room beside me that has a baby who was crying a lot at night. They never offered me an upgrade since the hotel was pretty empty.

Our trip was interrupted when we tested positive for Covid. It could have been a nightmare of a vacation but Maitai Bora Bora is the only place I would ever want to quarantine for 10 days. Our over the water bungalow was the perfect place for sole R&R and the hotel staff was very accommodating to our situation .
