About this house rental
Located in Bridgwater, this charming house for $1,319 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Model Farm is a country house consisting of an impressive Victorian front to a 17th century farmhouse and cider barn. The accommodation is all in one house, sleeping up to 27 in 11 bedrooms, 6 en-suite with 4 bathrooms. The Victorian area retains many of the original features, high ceilings with impressive cornicing, original fireplaces and stained glass windows. There are two large lounges, a dinning room and a new kitchen leading onto our Orangery function room, which can be used for dining, dancing or functions. There is also an additional kitchen/diner in the Cider Barn with table football table and just outside a large covered loggia with BBQ area suitable for outside dining. Outside there is a log fired Scandinavian style Hot Tub seating 8 people, a 25m swimming pond, an outside kitchen next to our log burning pizza oven and several patio areas, with plenty of seating throughout the grounds. There are 4 acres of glorious gardens with large selection of different plants designed around being wildlife friendly, you will find plants of interest throughout all the seasons of the year. We also have a croquet lawn, football area, lots of outdoor games and ample off road parking. We tend to specialise in large groups for the weekend normally for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday and you don't need to leave until Sunday afternoon if you wish. This is around 2/3 the price of a weeks stay. A 3 night stay or mid-week stay is also available. We are happy for all types of group to stay apart from very young adults and stag parties. We will also consider up to 3 dogs per group. We have ample car parking and a free to use electric car charger, or it is a fairly short taxi ride from Bridgwater station. Model Farm is situated in the hamlet of Perry Green only 8 minutes by car from Bridgwater, yet in the peace and quiet of the country. Junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are only 5 miles away. The Quantock Hills are a short drive away and there are plenty of footpaths in the area with some excellent walking where you can visit the many pubs in the local area for a great lunch or dinner. The village of Cannington with its pubs and gardens is a pleasant walk away and also has a golf course, horse riding, paintball/laser shooting and an adventure climbing area.

We spent New Year at Model Farm as a group of 18 friends and family. It was a wonderful experience from refreshing dips in the ‘swimming pond’, firing up the pizza oven and the hot tub, countryside walks to local pubs, as well as relaxing in the gorgeous glass roofed Orangery. The owner Dave is a gem, quick to reply to messages and on hand to give advice when needed. Highly recommended.

Beautiful house x it has everything you need and require x the gardens were very lovely although not private enjoyed the hot tub and the cold water swimming pool x we had a lovely stay in this beautiful house but maybe would of preferred a more private experience with guaranteed privacy in the gardens x

We had a great time at the house. The property is beautiful and well kept! We were welcomed with open arms and very helpful with everything. We had one person in a wheelchair and everything was taken care of. We would like to come here again!

Had an amazing time, the building is fantastic and having so many bedrooms is so helpful when having a 40th birthday party. The livingroom and kitchen are bigger than they look in the photos and easily held 18 of us.
The garden was massive and had all sorts of little areas to have a look at and sit in.
The owner (Dave) is very friendly and helpful and gave us a good tour.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to hold a gathering or some away time with the extended family.

We rented the property for a family Christmas reunion. There was plenty of space for the children to play in the grounds and the location was great for family walks. The property had plenty of crockery etc for our group of 16.

Visiting from Australia to catch up with family from all over UK and wanted to gather in a single location. With 14 adults ages 17 - 87 and 2 dogs the accommodation worked really well,
The property was clean and well serviced and Dave was incredibly helpful as unfortunately our check-in date turned out to be Queens funeral day.
The Garden was beautiful and we played Croquet, Jenga and Connect 4 on the lawn. The local village was easy to walk to and had 4 pubs (only got to 3). The BBQ area was very well equipped (even for an Aussie) and the kitchen dinner accommodated us all very well. We never used the pizza oven or hot tub in the garden as time didnt allow.
The property was also a good location for touring to places like Dunster, Taunton and the Quantocks.
The bedrooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms / en suites clean and plenty of hot water.
We all had a great time and many happy memories - thanks for the stay, really enjoyed it!

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend staying here for my sisters hendo . We are so thankful for Davies flexibility through all the covid lockdowns , it really did take the potential stress away of organising 20 people ! Check out the vineyard 3 miles away it is also brilliant

Beautiful house, perfect for a big group to get together
We had a wonderful time celebrating a 50th birthday with the family at this house. Dave was really helpful throughout our stay - we did have a few problems but Dave was really quick to fix them and was just around the corner so we had no issues getting things fixed quickly. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would recommend to anyone thinking of staying here. We imagine it would be even more amazing in the summer months!

Perfect getaway for a large group
Spent Christmas here. Dave was extremely helpful and showed us round and was very accommodating when we requested a late check out. The house is ideal for a large group and the kitchen had plenty of cutlery. Though it was quiet cold outside, the house stayed warm all the time. The showers had good pressure and there was always hot water for our large group of 20+. Even managed to use the outdoor hot tub on Boxing Day! would definitely recommend this place especially as it allows pets. The gardens are well maintained and the surrounding area is very flat and ideal for long walks. All in all we had a great stay there and would definitely go back.

Perfect For Us
Easy to book - Dave was very prompt and helpful with his responses to all our questions. The house was perfect for us, 20 hens, celebrating my daughter's upcoming wedding. The house, gardens, hot tub and location all worked so well for us. Plenty of rooms, bathrooms, linen, very clean and overall welcoming and charming. We even left with a big bag of apples from the garden. All in all 20 Happy Hens !

60th Birthday celebration with family
We stayed at the Model Farm house (family of 24 including children) Owner David was very helpful and accommodating all the way from booking to checking out . We had a fantastic time over the weekend . The Hot tub was lovely, overlooking the beautiful garden. The House is very spacious with plenty of room for a big group. David and Rose are very flexible and allowed us to check out late in the evening. I would highly recommend this place!

A perfect break...
My family had a wonderful break here at Model Farm. It is tucked out of the way in such a peaceful setting, with the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. The house is gorgeous, the photographs don’t do it justice. David was the perfect host with nothing being too much trouble. His flexibility on arriving and departing made our stay a whole lot less stressful. Thank you!!

My wife's 30th birthday for 15 guests
We had a lovely stay and made full use of the extensive beautiful gardens, hot tub and and communal areas. All of our friends were complimentary about the venue. We also visited Oatley Vineyard for a picnic and wine tasting (recommended on the website) and would highly recommend a trip there as well. Thanks David for a wonderful weekend.
