Kingsburg is a tiny hamlet, famous for its crashing surf, beaches and pastoral views - making it one of the most breathtaking locations on the south shore. Visit just once and you'll not want to leave. It's magical. A coastal inspired home with 3 good sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (!) and beautiful open concept kitchen and great room - giving you a birds eye view of the incredible landscape of pastoral and ocean views. This home lives large with open concept great rooms on BOTH the upper and lower levels. Modern, bright with sunshine pouring in - it’s both cozy and modern and provides jaw-dropping views at every turn. Well stocked kitchen, multiple TVs with satellite and Netflix, high speed internet, linens, towels and washer and dryer make this home an easy, restful break from everyday life. Lunenburg, with all its restaurants and attractions is a mere 20 mins away. Mahone Bay, Lahave Bakery, the cable ferry, and the town of Chester are ALL worthy and easy destinations. Because of the rural location and for security purposes, please know there is a camera at the front door with a view of the driveway and front door. It must not be disconnected. Failure to comply will mean an immediate eviction. ” This is a SMOKE FREE home. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis. With approval they are subject to a $250 pet fee. The house and area were perfect. Catherine was wonderfully communicative. We found out shortly after our arrival that we lost our dad. Although our stay wasn’t what we had hoped for, a relaxing few days from the city, it became a lovely place for us to be together as a family and grieve. It’ll always be a place close to our hearts. Thank you Catherine!

Marvellous accommodation, superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need. Would be ideal for 2 couples with children.
Located conveniently for beaches at Kingsburg, Hirtles, Rissers and crescent.
When hurricane Lee threatened to spoil our vacation, Catherine went out of her way to adjust her plans to allow us to save our holiday.

This special property is such a welcoming refuge from the concerns of busy city life.
Driving into the community we knew we had made the right choice to visit this breathtaking area of Nova Scotia. And sure enough, just entering the driveway to this delightful cottage sealed the deal — even on a grey rainy day!!
To top it off, as soon as we opened the door, we were immediately greeted with charming, cozy comfort. It is spacious, well-appointed, and designed with a gorgeous colour palette and furnishings.
The sweeping views out the large windows put on quite a show with the changing light and weather conditions throughout the day, while inside is a delightful gallery of NS folk art with thoughtful touches right down to the rope and tartan coasters.
We really enjoyed our hikes on Hirtles Beach and exploring the nearby areas, and chatting to friendly locals, but truly, just staying home in this hilltop slice of paradise was a joy. You can tell this home is treasured by the owner and it is wonderful that she shares this experience with others.
Thanks to Catherine for being such a responsive, generous and gracious host. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. We are already looking forward to returning to this magical place and will gladly recommend it to friends.

Having just spent five days at Catherine’s seaside haven we can tell you it is one of the best equipped and beautifully appointed properties that we have rented in the 20 plus years that we have been going on an annual Winter Getaway in Nova Scotia. As a host, she is Five Star on all criteria. In any season, this property and location would be perfect. We’re already planning our return next Winter.

We had a wonderful weekend recharging our batteries by doing nothing but relaxing, playing games (I highly recommend “What do you Meme?-family edition”) and walking the beaches enjoying the natural beauty of NS.
We love visiting the South Shore, and have stayed at many rentals over the years. @seahaven.kingsburg was definitely a picturesque gem 💎 that spoke to all of the things we love about NS.
Aside from the amazing location and accommodations, our host Catherine, is one of the main reasons our stay was as enjoyable as it was. She was quick to respond, helpful, thoughtful, and it’s not hard to tell she loves NS as much as we do.

Wildflowers, Salty Air and Fireflies
We just had four days of bliss at Catherine's property and can hardly wait to go back. As soon as you pull into Kingsburg you are transported into one of the most peaceful places in Nova Scotia. My husband, parents and 20 month old son came along and it was just perfection. My parents spend most of their time just taking in the beauty of the patio and on our last night spotted thousands of fireflies in the wildflower field behind the house.
If you are lucky enough to book Catherine's house you will most certainly love your time there.

Magical Kingsburg
Catherine's home in beautiful Kingsburg gave us a perfect get-away. We were there for 3 days and nights and will certainly return again. The home is spotless and beautifully decorated. The furniture is comfortable for relaxing and taking in the extraordinary view. Gorgeous Hirtle's beach is just moments away for jumping in the waves. The property is stunning. We saw countless deer sauntering through the meadow below. It's a 5 star vacation place in every way!

Long weekend getaway
We spent three days and three nights at Catherine’s cottage and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Kingsburg is the most beautifully unique sea side community with views that leave a lasting impression. The cottage is more than we expected with all of its amenities. Very kid friendly, comfortable, clean and inviting. We had two adults and two small children, but could have easily vacationed with another couple and/or family. Catherine was superior to deal with and her beautiful touches within the cottage were appreciated - you’ll have everything you need from cooking a big meal, travelling down to the beach, sightseeing and dining out (large selection of guides). Highly recommend this beautiful cottage. Thank you Catherine!

The best location, host and all around experience
Oh my gosh, this house was wonderful. From the time we drove up (in the middle of a rain & wind storm) we knew we in for a treat. The spectacular views of the surf crashing on the cliffs is unparalleled. Because of the storm we were able to to witness the glorious fury of the North Atlantic, but from a safe distance. On top of that the house is just as advertised: superbly stocked kitchen, huge living area, fabulous bedrooms and bathrooms. The cathedral ceiling takes full advantage of the views. There is a short walk up the road to a cliff with breathtaking views of Hirtles Beach. Do not miss it! We have been to the South Shore many times, but this was our first time in Kingsburg. What a special place. We discovered Rose Bay General Store and Bistro and went there every day. The bistro food is delicious. But really, the crowning glory was Catherine herself, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome., checked in with us several times, left snacks for us, and made sure we had everything we needed.Loved it!

Outstanding vacation rental
One could not ask for a more beautiful well appointed place to stay near Lunenburg Nova Scotia than this place.
The spaciousness, the views, the closeness to all to do and see in the area are right here. Comfortable beds and furniture , any equipment one would need, the house has it all. Plus the art work is fabulous! So glad we found this rental! And the owner was exceptionally helpful.

A lovely seaside vacation experience!
This is a beautiful location with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The neighbourhood is very quiet and the peaceful sound of waves crashing on Hirtle’s beach in the distance was music to our ears. We enjoyed rising early and experiencing spectacular sunrise scenes through the expansive living room windows. The property is close to a walking trail that leads to a secluded stony beach and for swimming, Hirtle’s beach is a 5 minute drive from the house. I rated the location as 4 instead of 5 stars because the road in to the neighbourhood is narrow and requires extra care when meeting oncoming vehicles.
We were impressed with the artistic flair with which the owner furnished and decorated the place and the many little extras that went beyond our expectations, such as books describing the fascinating culture and history of Nova Scotia’s South Shore, snacks in the cupboard and binoculars for viewing distant sights. The house was very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Our host was very kind, caring and responded promptly to our questions by text. We were 6 adults looking for a place to enjoy some family time together near the ocean and we came away very pleased with our experience.

Spectacular location, great accommodation
We spent a very enjoyable two weeks in a great house in a great location. The house is well equipped and has an unbeatable view. The location is convenient to lots of recreational activities and interesting excursions. The owner is very attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We even had a front row seat for Hurricane Dorian. The house was solid and weathertight throughout the show. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

A fabulous family vacation.
We were looking for a property to celebrate my father-in-law's 70th (he's originally from NS, and his gift was a family trip). This Kingsburg property was fabulous. We had four adults and a 5 year old. Plenty of room for all of us, and three bathrooms was a big plus! Lots of little details made the house feel like a home away from home. Beautiful decor, lots of books on NS and the local area to peruse. Catherine was great to communicate with, providing many recommendations (many of which we followed). Upon arrival there was a lovely bouquet of sunflowers, a basket of snacks, and a welcome note. Catherine also texted to let me know that the coffee maker had been acting up, she had a smaller one an a french press for our first night and a new coffee maker arrived the next morning. Little Hirtle beach at the end of the path felt like a private oasis. Would love to come back and stay again, and would highly recommend! Thanks so much once again. The Goodyer family

Best ever vancation!
Our family absolutely loved this vacation. The beach and stunning views were amazing. The house was perfect, with all amenities and a big separate family room for the kids to hang out in. Catherine was an excellent host. We will book again for next year. Grab it while you can!

Great place to stay!
We just returned from our stay in Nova Scotia. We had a great time. Home was beautiful, clean and scenery was breath taking. Catherine was great to communicate with and offered us many suggestions of places to visit or things to see while we were in Nova Scotia for the week...and we did just about all of them and had a great vacation. We would highly recommend the accommodations and working with this home owner.

Rural Paradise
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kingsburg. The house is situated in a lovely spot overlooking a natural area followed by the ocean. We watched deer and rabbits play from the deck. My kids loved the short walk to the beach down an isolated glassy trail. The house is very spacious with all the provisions you could possibly need. The host was available and willing to help with anything we needed.

Perfect south shore family vacation!
Huge thanks to Catherine for having us at her beautiful spot in Kingsburg! This location is as good as it looks - it is minutes to Hirtles beach and only a 20 minute drive into historic Lunenburg. Catherine was a great host and helped us have a wonderful stay while we were on the south shore.
The house itself was spotless and looked like it was out of a magazine. It was well stocked with spices and other basic things needed to cook. Everything about this location and our experience was perfect! I highly recommend staying at Catherine's place in Kingsburg!

Absolutely Wonderful!
Everything from booking, communication with the owner and the area to the house itself...the whole experience was just wonderful. The house is beautiful and clean, with everything you could want and more just waiting for you. We slept so well in the very comfortable beds! It is clear that the owner loves the house, and wants her guests to feel welcome. My friend and I felt lucky to be able to enjoy it, if only for a few days. I will not hesitate to book here again when I am able...and I will not hesitate to recommend it to others as well!

Seaside Retreat
Catherine’s property is exactly as described on the website. It’s a lovely, well-equipped, comfortable space with lots of room for a family or group of friends. There are a couple of large communal spaces and lots of space to hide away if you prefer. The deck overlooks the small town of Kingsburg and was lovely, though it was too cold when we were there to spend any real time outside. Walking around the neighbourhood is easy and the views are really breathtaking. Everything you need for a quiet break is right there. Would love to go back !

Kings burg, a place to relax, renew, and restore.
Catherine’s home is absolutely beautiful, direct from a magazine. Spacious and cozy at the same time. I enjoyed cooking in the open kitchen, lots of space. The beds are very comfortable, amazing mattresses. The front of the house has a beautiful view of the ocean. When you step outside, you hear the ocean, birds, and peeper frogs in the spring. Hirtle beach is only a few minutes away. A spectacular beach to walk and collect rocks and shells. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to return again.

Absolute perfection
Our stay in this beautiful Kingsburg property was absolutely perfect. From the wonderful kitchen to the spacious living room to the amazingly comfortable bedroom, this location has it all. Spectacular views from all sides, and the surrounding area is so truly peaceful and quiet. Relaxing mornings were spent reading in the light filled living room. Our kind hostess Catherine was in great communication the entire time, and had everything ready upon our arrival. The wonderful Hirtle's Beach is a lovely walk, and you might be lucky to see a bald eagle fly close by as we did! We look forward to returning very soon, this is a perfect 5-star location. Beautiful property with great ocean views and access to the beach is a short walk.
the property was very nice. Large clean rooms with open kitchen and sitting areas on two floors. The home is in a great location with access to picturesque Lunenburg and other small harbors. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of room for five adults. Excellent wifi speed for those who might need to do some remote work... Our host was very gracious and provided a lot of information on local stores and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the small country store and pub, both within 5 minutes drive time.
The weather was what you'd likely expect from the North Atlantic in October. Tons of photo opportunities.
We would heartily recommend this location to anyone interested.

A beautiful home away from home!
This was our group's second visit and it was just as wonderful as the first. The house is so inviting and cozy and everything guests would need was right at our fingertips. The house is spotlessly clean and we really enjoyed the artwork and the whimsical touches of the decor. We would have no reservations about going there again or recommending it to others. We had a great stay in Kingsburg! The house is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, exactly as described. Catherine couldn't have been more helpful or responsive! The house is within easy walking distance to the small secret part of Hirtle's Beach, but also close to the main part as well (longer walk or 2 minute drive). Twenty minutes in to Lunenburg or La Have, so easy to enjoy all the great local restaurants and farmer's markets. Also loved the kayaking expedition out of Blue Rocks with Pleasant Paddling. We would absolutely stay here again!

We loved our stay at the cottage, so peaceful yet conveniently located near to the villages and only one hour thirty minutes from Halifax airport.
Definitely well catered in every way, beautiful bedding, clean, and comfortable for the six of us. The walks to the ocean each morning and evening were amazing, and we really got to enjoy the Nova Scotia way of life, we will be coming back again, thanks Catherine for such a wonderful holiday.

We truly enjoyed our week in Kingsburg! Catherine was most helpful throughout the entire process. We loved the home & the setting. Everything we needed was already there. She thought of everything!
The home sits with Kingsburg Beach hidden in front of you & waves crashing from the hill behind you on Hirtle's Beach. The area was very quiet & peaceful. It was everything we had hoped for. We spent two days traveling from NH to spend the week & it was worth all the effort. We especially loved exploring the two nearby beaches, The LaHave Islands, The Ovens Sea Cliff Walk & Mahone Bay. The General Store down the street is also a treasure. I would not hesitate to spend another week at this home in the future. We hope to do just that. I highly recommend this property.

What a beautiful home in a beautiful area! We were there for a week and wish it could have been much longer. The house was spotlessly clean. It is within walking distance to a small beach and about a 5-10 minute drive to two other beaches (Kingsburg & Hirtles). The view from the main areas of the home and deck are truly inspiring and the surroundings are so peaceful. It is also close to various tourist destinations (e.g. 20-30 minutes to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, LaHave Ferry). Catherine has taken care of providing everything a person could need to make one's stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, and she always responds VERY promptly if you run into any issues. (We just had a couple questions about the recycling rules in the area and she was very quick to get back to us with the information). We did have a bit of a challenge finding the house initially due to a detour sign and a GPS that led us astray, so our suggestion would be that you try and arrive before dark because the location can be a bit tricky to find the first time if you're unfamiliar with the area. We have no hesitation recommending this property and would love to return someday.
