About this house rental
Nestled in Wilbur-By-The-Sea, this lovely house for $581 per night is a great option for your next trip. The Reed Beach House is located in a small, quiet, residential beach town, located less than 7 miles south of the famous boardwalk in the heart of Daytona Beach! The most frequently asked question I get from perspective guests is “Is the house ON the beach? I mean, right ON the beach?” I don’t blame them, there are far too many scams out there. But thankfully, I can come back with an enthusiastic 'YES! Smack dab on top of the sand dunes! Any closer and we'd be jumping off the deck and into the ocean during high tides!' One of the very unique features of our location is that we're on a condo-free section of beach designated as a “turtle nesting area”. What that translates to for the beach-goer is: no motorized vehicles, no dogs, fewer tourists, privacy, serenity, and security. And who knows, you could be one of the lucky few to witness a mother sea turtle laboring across the sand to lay her eggs or hatch lings blindly making their way back down to the water to swim out to sea! The Reed House has all the amenities available at your fingertips to provide you with the perfect worry free vacation. The main house has central heat and a/c, 3 furnished bedrooms complete with ceiling fans, queen sized/double beds, adequate closet space and large windows with spectacular beach/ocean views. The 4th bedroom/bath is attached with a separate entrance. It is located on the southwest side of the main house, has Central AC and heat, ceiling fans and is perfect for that couple that wants a little more space and privacy. The trade out though is the lack of ocean view. We have WiFi throughout the main house and signals are strong on the deck and screened room. A WIFI booster helps to strengthen signal in the downstairs bedroom, but it's not at 100%. The large open kitchen is equipped with nearly every conceivable appliance (both large and small). The Florida room/den includes a flat screen HDTV w/ cable, smart DVD player and a blue tooth speaker. The dining room with attached breakfast bar seats up to 12 total, and offers ocean views from all vantage points. Off the east entrance is our screened enclosure providing more than enough patio furniture for lounging and/or dining in the refreshing ocean breezes while taking in the panoramic view of beach and ocean below. Located directly off the screened room is our patio/deck and barbecue area. This is my favorite spot at the end of a day. Relax right above the sand dunes by easing back into one of the comfortable chaise lounges, peer through the sea oats that dot the landscape and enjoy the miles and miles of white sandy beach! After dinner head down our private beach walkway, boat drink in hand, and enjoy a barefoot walk on the soft white sand. Truly restful vacations are so rare in our busy lives, you gotta grab them when you can! * THE REED BEACH HOUSE IS SPLIT LEVEL WITH STAIRS TO FRONT DOOR, BACK DOOR AND DOWN TO BEACH. The house is amazing, directly in the beach. Has been the most relaxing vacation and best beach house we have rented in Florida. Can’t tell you anything about the restaurants or shops because we never left the whole week. Two days we saw sea turtles swim by us in the water. One day we saw a manatee and dolphins out in the water. The best of all was toward the end of our stay, we were out in the water and a pod of four manatees swam right up to my husband and went on both sides of him. The kids were able to swim out and even touch them as they came back around. Truly amazing. We were also lucky enough to watch three launches on the beach at night from Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center. The house has literally anything you could need and more, by far the best and most stocked rental we have ever stayed in. Can’t recommend it more! We will back!

Great location. Plenty of space for the 7 in our group. Lots of beach gear and games. Love the house; it had everything we needed and was exactly as described. When the afternoon storms would blow up we gathered on the scre ned in porch and played card games.The Reeds are wonderful hosts and we appreciate being able tk enjoy their little piece of heaven!

We booked the property for the back porch and the access to the beach! We spent all day on the porch relaxing, playing games, and for all our meals. Exactly what we were looking for.
Everything needed for a vacation was provided. Owner is very gracious and responsive. You will love it!

Exceeded all expectations! I loved everything about this house, beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The ocean view is breathtaking and so close! Just a few steps down to the beach, and the sunrise over the ocean was incredible! The owner Denise was wonderful, and her attention to detail was obvious all throughout the house. Fresh flowers in the house were beautiful. Felt like home from the first day, can’t wait to go back!

We were three couples over the age of 50. Denise was spot on with her description of the property. It was during Bike Week and Denise was gracious enough to let us park our bikes in the garage. As we are not the partyers, the location from downtown Daytona was perfect. The backyard and beach access made for great days to relax.

What a wonderful week! The house was clean and the location is Great! My grandchildren Loved the beach and the house. The screened dining are was perfect for lunches, and wet swimsuits. The beds were very comfortable. It is a great place to spend a week at the beach. Very quite, peaceful beach. I highly recommend this place.

Our host, Denise, was open and honest about local conditions in the aftermath & cleanup of hurricane Ian and Nicole in Sept. & Nov '22. She put our worries to rest with pictures of her property and recovery efforts. It wasn't until we walked the beach that we were awestruck by the power of nature.
We are truly impressed with her investment in constructing and maintaining her (higher than average?) sturdy seawall. Walking in 2-miles in either direction, hers is one of less than a half-dozen properties that still have a functioning access to the ocean beach.
Check in process was simple and easy. We were greeted with a bowl of chocolates and fresh flowers. The view of the ocean from the screen porch and upper patio and deck about the sea wall is AMAZING!
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the equipment, spices and oils one could ask for. The grill was in great condition, in an accessible location with extra propane on standby.
Recreational equipment (bikes, boogie boards, corn hole games), full size laundry (with supplies) was easily accessible in the basement / garage walk-out.
Denise provided a thoughtful suggestion to take a walk along the beach north of her VRBO where an 80-foot long skeleton of a shipwreck from the 1800's was unearthed in the beach during post-Nicole wave action in early December. Unfortunately by the time we arrived 3-weeks later, the sea and sand had reclaimed the shipwreck, once again burying it from view.
Denise's property is an amazing getaway. We hope to be able to return again (although if we write too positive of a review, it may be too booked for us to return....so disregard everything we said about her property :) )!!

Very clean supplied with all we needed for a wonderful time husband and I in 60s, daughter soninlaw and son,. 2 and 3 yr old.
Denise very accommodating. Note: upper bedroom with bath is open to den with only shutters for separation.
We would have preferred a piece of glass. All said.. only wish we had discovered years ago. We do plan a return visit. The beach is very private . Plenty of parking. All the comforts and conveniences of home.

Excellent location!
This is the perfect beach house for 6 to 8 people. 4 nice bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and covered patio that leads straight to the beach, which is just steps from the back patio.
Our family loved this section of Daytona Beach. It was not super busy, the waves were perfect for playing in (boogie boards, etc), and you are within walking distance of two restaurants.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Reed Beach House. The screened in porch was our favorite part of the house, we spent every morning and night out there. The walk down to the beach was perfect. Denise was very easy to get ahold of and very attentive if we had a question. We enjoyed both Crabby Joe’s and Boondocks restaurant, both within walking range! If we ever come back to the area we would definitely check if this beach house was open!

Location, location, location
Right on the beach! Just some steps down and you’re there. We had a semi-private beach experience with the closest group 20 yards away. We had everything we needed, Denise was very responsive. The only issue we encountered was the water pressure could be better in the house, and be careful around the corner of the beds. I didn’t know the bed frame stuck out and was wood. My shin hurt all week.
I don’t know if the limited beach goers was due to Covid-19 or not but we really enjoyed being able to spread out on the beach.

This beach house exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate and throughly clean upon our arrival. We were warmly greeted by the host. And we lived every minute. The beach was quiet and uncrowded and beautiful.

We had a great experience here. We have rented a few homes in this area over the years, and this was the best. The owners provide everything you need. The location is great, and you can’t beat the view of the beach. The screened in porch is the best! We would gladly come back and stay again.

FAMILY TIME
We really enjoyed our stay and we thought the location was great. Denise was wonderful to deal with and the communication was great. The house was spotless and really fit our needs. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. A lot of thoughtful touches. We enjoyed being close enough to walk to some restaurants and loved that we felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Would definitely visit this place again. Thank you Denise!!
