Very nice condo. Super easy to access. Convenient location. My only suggestion would be to update some of the furniture and clean floors and dust. Otherwise very satisfied for the price.

You can’t beat the price, location, and the amenities with this place! It may be a little older in decor, but it is so clean and comfortable for my family that this was our second stay! Everything was easy too - the communication, check in/check out, and the starter packs that were left. Thanks for everything - again!!

This is just what we needed for our getaway. Nothing super fancy but a nice location with multiple pools. Would stay again!

Everything was clean and provided. The whole family enjoyed our stay and will definitely look at renting here in the future. The lock on the back door was a little janky but we made it work. Great distance to the beach and pool. It was a great vacation.

Decor is older but really appreciated how clean everything was inside. Kudos to the staff.
It would be helpful if some of the kitchen items were updated. The knives were dangerously dull and there was no cutting board. Also, the right front burner on the stove doesn't seem to get very hot…like it wouldn't boil water.

We would certainly stay here again. 5 minute walk to the beach and 3 pools, which the kids loved. I’d like to see a better equipped kitchen, but overall my family really enjoyed it. Very comfortable beds as well which is so needed after a long drive into town.

Badly needs bathroom and kitchen renovations. Other than that a good room for the price

Solid place, for the money
Overall, for the money, a great place for a family on a budget. The only negative being the place desperately needs a remodel (but then I'm sure prices would be much higher). So it's pick your poison. But most everything looks easily 30+ years old. Overall nice place, for the money

This was our first time renting through VRBO. Process turned out to be surprisingly easy. Property was in a great location. Could use some updates but for the price was acceptable. One thing not acceptable was the lock on the front door. Check in instructions said to enter the unlock code and to jiggle door knob so lock could open. It sometimes took 4 or 5 tries to unlock the door. Putting this info in the check in instructions indicates you are aware this is an issue so why not just fix it? Other than that we had no real issues with the property.

Disappointed
We've been coming to Hibiscus for several years and this was the first time we've been so disappointed.
Floors were dirty! Upon arrival I swept up so much dirt/dust/sand from under tables, chairs and beds. Wiped up some water off kitchen floor and my napkin was black from when I did. A pair of underwear from previous vacationers were left in a drawer which tells me this unit wasn't cleaned as well as they say it's supposed to be.
Piles of mulch/dirt/debris is all over the 3 pool areas. Pool bathrooms were disgusting! Men's had human feces on the floor and the women's had so many dead bugs and dirt all over floor that we wouldn't even walk in to use it. A resident said it had been like that for several days and finally called to have it cleaned.
The greenery is beautiful but way too overgrown through the walkways. Couldn't even walk through without ducking or getting hit with branches.
A lot of the boardwalk through the property and our patio was half deteriorated. The wood is splintered and nail heads are sticking up so we didn't dare walk around barefoot.
On previous visits we used to see a couple friendly maintenance men continually working the property keeping it up but the only time we saw a maintenance man this time was when he barged right into our unit, WITHOUT KNOCKING. He just said “oh sorry, I didn't know you were in here. I'm just here to change your door lock batteries”. The next day, an outside company knocked on our door to change the furnace filter. That's fine, but yet another invasion of privacy and interruption to our vacation. After the maintenance man entered without knocking, we didn't feel 100% safe so we barricaded the front door for the rest of our stay.
We appreciated the ease of checking in and out but probably won't be coming back to Hibiscus anymore.

The condo was nice and had a good location. Parking was marked and each unit had a reserved spot. Pools were clean and well maintained. The unit had VCR/DVD player, but some of the cases that housed the movies were empty. The patio sliding door could use a screen to let in the ocean breeze without having to worry about bugs and local wildlife.
Other than that it was an enjoyable week and we would probably stay there again if the need arises.

We were very pleased with the experience. Although the condo is older, it’s been updated on main things like sinks, fridge, floors, etc. so don’t let this place scare you by hearing the word vintage or old. It’s affordable and right by beach!

Good -Nice condo unit but no tennis courts as advertised
The unit was very nice. It was clean and comfortable and roomy. The grounds were in excellent shape except the advertised tennis courts were in such bad shape they were unplayable. Having tennis courts was why I chose Hibiscus, so we were very disappointed and felt the condo did not have all the amenities that were advertised.

The condo was very nice, clean, roomy, very comfortable. There were 3 well kept swimming pools, barbeque areas, and a short walk to the ocean. Our only complaint was that they advertised tennis courts. However, their court was in terrible condition and could not be used. The tennis court was the main reason we selected this condo.

Hibiscus
Overall the condo was what we expected. There was some kind of water damage that took place before our arrival so the floor was completely warped in every room. Also, the sheets needed to be washed because they were full of sand and visibly dirty. The towels in the bathroom that were hanging were dirty as well with makeup or dirt on them.

We loved the Ocean Hibiscus resort. The location, the pools and hot tubs were wonderful. Check in was easy and office staff were pleasant & helpful.
As for the condo: it was clean but the floors felt dirty, the linens were clean but could use updating, the dishes in cabinets were not clean, there were very limited provisions/amenities provided. It would be nice to have at least coffee filters, trash bags, a few basic spices provided.

Easter weekend at the beach
This was the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend at the beach. The condo was comfortable and clean and provided easy access to the pool. There was lots of space, great kitchen for cooking and the grills at the pool were a bonus. The pools and hot tubs topped off a relaxing vacation! Will definitely come back!

H204
We recently stayed in condo H204 and were pleased for the most part. The place was clean and the price was even better. The only reason we didn't give it a 5th star is because the beds were not comfortable.

Nice condo
the condo was in good shape. It smelled a little musty but it could have been closed up for a while. The outside of the buildings could have been marked better. We came in about 1:00 AM and had trouble finding the right building

Excellent as always however, check in time should be an hour or two earlier OR check out time should be an hour or two later.

Run down condo
My family has been spending a week or two at Hibiscus every summer for the last 8 years. This was the most run down condo unit we have ever stayed in. The utility closet is missing random wooden slots so you can see what's Inside. Every closet door is broken, so they don't stay on the tracks when you open and close them. The living room has water damage down the wall and all the paint is peeling. There is mold in the bathroom. The kitchen faucet doesn't turn off, so it drips the entire time. The condo unit does not have enough silverware for 6 people. There is no laundry basket. It is lacking basic necessities like a cutting board. It is very outdated, and was diet upon entering it. Would never stay in this unit again.

Great Condo!
I came to St. Augustine for my son's graduation from Flagler College. This condo was the perfect place to stay! It was clean, spacious, well equipped and a very convenient location. I would definitely stay here again.

👍🏻
We had a very nice experience. The condo was perfect for our little family vacation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The walk to the beach did not talk long at all. The actual location of the condo was within short driving distance to historic St. Augustine. This was definitely a vacation to remember!!

Very clean place beds comfortable
I didn't give it a five star for a few reasons. Yes the place was super clean and beds were memory foam. It had enough utensils to cook for six people but no tuberwere to store in the fridge. I was electricuted bye the living room power strip. So we could t use the living room at all, tv cable or DVD. Not enough plugs and after getting shocked I didn't want to risk it. I went to the office and gave them the power strip and informed her what happen and all she said was ok. No offer to give me replacement so we can watch tv, nor a apology for getting shocked. DVD and tv or really outdated. I rented a Redbox for my girls to watch in the bedroom but the DVD system will not take blue ray. After returning movie and getting a DVD I still could not use it because there is no remote. We learned what the difference is between cockroaches and palmettos bugs are. We had two run across our feet in the bedroom and living room, so we looked it up. Just a heads up it should be a requirement to let renters know if there is construction going on next to them. I loved waking up everyday at 7:55 to the sound of banging and drilling, with Spanish words shouted occasionally. Who wants to sleep in on vacation anyway. Besides these bad customer service choices it's a cheep place to lay your head. The pools were great and clean six feet deep. Clean grounds and pretty flowers.

Clean condo that is close to the beach.
This was a great place to stay. It is close to the beach as well as stores and restaurants. The wifi wasn't working but we weren't on vacation to use the internet.

Spacious, Clean and Comfortable
Nice place for a family vacation. The condo itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. We prepared all of our meals and found the kitchen to be equipped with plenty of pots, pans, silverware, knives etc. Beds comfortable, towels good (not plush, but not threadbare or scratchy either). Soap, shampoo, conditioner and even hand lotion provided in each bathrooms -- similar to what you would get if staying in a hotel. No beach/pool towels provided so bring your own. Also, no beach chairs or umbrellas provided so again, come prepared or rent some.
There is a pool adjacent to the condo which is very convenient. The walk to the beach from the condo is quite a hike especially when toting beach chairs, umbrellas, toys for the kids, etc. Recommend you have a cart to help you out. You have to walk through the complex and then be prepared to walk a distance on the sandy beach to setup. If your vehicle is 4-wheel or all-wheel drive, you can drive to a beach ramp and then drive down to the beach with all of your stuff and setup. Yes, driving on the beach is permitted, for a fee. Don't know what the fee is since we couldn't take advantage of that with our vehicle. But those that did sure had an easy time of getting all their stuff to the beach!
The location of the complex is really nice as it's far enough away from the nearest public beach that the beach was never crowded. It's close to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, tacky tourist shops and a Starbucks to go to if you need WiFi because it's completely non-existent w/in the condo or throughout the complex. Getting to the historic section of St. Augustine was about a 15 minute drive.
As other reviewers have stated, the condo complex is older and could use a sprucing up, however the unit itself was clean and in good working order. WI-FI NON EXISTENT. When I inquired about it at the office I was told it had been a problem for years -- that was not a good answer. Don't advertise free WiFi when it can't be used. Don't plan on having it, go to the Starbucks if you need to get online. Lastly, if you have kids be careful with the sliding glass doors. There weren't any decals on the doors and after going in and out to the patio and back inside our 7-year old didn't realize the door had been closed again and slammed nose first into it. I asked the office to consider putting decals on the glass doors to prevent other kids from doing that but don't know if it's been taken care of.

If you like to party, this is the place for you!
I am surprised by the two four star reviews. It makes me think that we happened to visit at the wrong time. Still, I would never recommend this property to anyone. I have to first say that the management was extremely nice and helpful, and helped us relocate to a place that was ten times better. The biggest reason that I can't give the room more than 1 star, is that we couldn't get any sleep due to noise. I believe that every sheet rocked surface in the place is paper thin, and that even in the best circumstances you can hear every step, squeak, and toilet flush that goes on around you. While we were there however, it seemed as though the entire building was one big party. Try sleeping through what sounds like people stomping, falling, jumping, yelling, slamming doors, and otherwise making any loud sound possible, above you and next to you all night long. Some other negatives: while cockroaches are part of life in the south, I have stayed in many vacation rentals in the area and not seen a single cockroach in the room. At the Hibiscus I battled with several. The room itself had the basics, but nothing more. Not even a beach towel or coffee filters. The office does have some beach items people have left behind like broken umbrellas and buckets that you can borrow. As for the kitchen, it only has the bare essentials. Not the kind of place you would want to try and cook dinner, but fine for breakfast and lunch (even though we did make a trip to the dollar store for some coffee mugs.) Water pressure was next to nothing. Once when I was showering the water literally stopped coming out of the faucet for a time. WiFi never connected. As for amenities...I wouldn't call the fitness room a fitness room, I'd call it a couple of broken down weight sets in a dirty, stench ridden room. The positives: very close proximity to the beach, beds were comfortable (at least you can be comfortable as you lie awake listening to Jimmy Buffett through the walls), plenty of bath towels. The unit was clean enough. You could tell it had been cleaned, but that it had been a while since it had been deep cleaned with dust on the ceiling fans and dust bunnies in every corner. I had booked the room for 8 nights, but could only stay 3. Again I have to compliment the management for their kindness. Obviously I stumbled into the wrong place. I wanted a quiet, restful beach escape, but my neighbors had other plans. Just for the record, I have stayed in many VRBOs that I loved.
