I came from Mumbai to Addis Ababa, then took a bus from Addis to Bahir Dar. This hostel was a gem with the value you pay. I asked them to buy the return bus ticket, pick up to the bus station in the early morning and they happily did. The best part was they helped me get an excellent tour package of the Lake Tana and the Blue Niles Waterfall, with very good price for one day, as I was tight with my schedule. The tour went very well with excellent and safe vehicles (car and boat), great guides, and all important places.
The room I got has a queen size bed, shower and toilet attached, with good privacy and cleanliness. I stayed two nights and will do it again when I have a chance. Please support this property as well as the Bahir Dar. They are waiting and very happy to serve you to the best of their abilities.

You can't beat the price and location. Great budget option. The staff are wonderful. Nati met us at the airport and helped coordinate all our tours in Bahir Dar. He even took us out to a delicious fish meal by the lake. I highly recommend organizing tours with him and if you are tight on budget staying at this place. It has all the basics that you need. Only one room's hot water shower works, so don't count on having that. But that's a small price to pay for all the other benefits.
Wish more showers had hot water

Honestly, I can't think of anything.
Another post covid hostel that perhaps isn't ready to be open. Was bummed that I had booked 3 nights. If I hadn't booked....I wouldn't have stayed.

Very clean, hard working
Some rooms have hot water, some not. But they are working very hard to renovate & improve.

Good value for money plus I met some great people there. The hostel can organise tours on the lake Tana and the monasteries. The room was clean.
There are only 2 shares toilets in the premises, and only one of them has the standard, western style toilet seat. The water wasn't always hot.

the owner is nice and organised all the tours and provided a good itinerary. This all worked fine along the way, however the big question mark remains as to where the large prices you pay go, when at each tour the guides and scouts tell you they dont get paid anything. Very top down model where your money doesnt get divided up amongst everyone involved, but then you need to tip along the way. For example at the danakil, you are going to stare at some people while they mine salt under the sun, and have tourists staring and taking photos of them like a zoo, and they are not getting a cent from these tour organisers. Anyway, compared to the market price and what other people paid, the offer you get from Nati is very very good and generally good service.
The room itself and the bathroom needs a good clean!
