Super hostel for socializing and close to the beach. Lockers in the room. Enough toilets and showers

Some plump water was going through the main area which often had a weird smell. Also the hot air stuck on the dorm rooms which smelled bad and they turn on the AC at 11 pm and stop it at 9 am so you actually can only stay in the room around this time otherwise it's too hot.

The staff and atmosphere is great tho, nice to meet people. If you are looking for party definitely a good choice.

The smell in front of the room was disgusting and also the overall cleanliness of the hostel is far from spotless.

Best hostel we have stayed at for meeting friends and socialising. Great vibe and great friendly staff in Nikko and Benji. Would recommend to anyone coming to Montanita who likes partying and socialising.

Such a nice vibe to meet fellow travelers! If you like partying, Montanita is perfect, and the hostel has a bar and activities most nights :) still, it’s not too loud at night if you wanna sleep. The owner and all the staff were so nice.

The rain flooded some rooms (but the ppl sleeping there didn’t get charged for that night), and the bathrooms were dirty or the shower sometimes just didnt work…

It’s just a short walk to the beach and the city centre! My Little House has great staff and cool events! The lounge area is great for hanging out and getting to know people!

The only negative thing is that while the dorm beds are comfortable, they are very shaky!

You get what you pay for, i would definitely recommend the place. Anyway -2 points because the wifi was not working on the second floor, there is no power supplies so it’s difficult to charge your phone and there is a lot of mosquitoes at the common area. Owner and volunteers are very nice and welcoming

The vibes at this place are AMAZING! The cool swinging chairs and hammocks add to the chill vibe and make it really appealing to sit there and meet people. There’s a real sense of community here because lots of people stay for a week or two. It’s so nice to see some familiar faces as a solo traveler!! The owner is so friendly and accommodating (and his daughter is adorable). He prioritizes the guests over everything and addresses problems right away! He also stops the music at a reasonable hour if you are one of the odd ones here who goes to bed early ;)

The kitchen and bathrooms were a bit unkempt/smelly but anytime there was an issue it was addressed pronto.

it’s a decent location to go to the clubs.

wet bed sheets, almost fish like smelling rooms and dusty stinky mosquito nets which touch you when lying in bed - very damp, if you have asthma etc don’t go here. the owners and their friends are consistently high. when going there for an open bar night, we were approached instantly by many drug dealers which didn’t make for a very safe atmosphere. to top it off, the owner supposedly writes their own reviews (this would not surprise anybody who stays and sees it is completely different). further, he is very rude to everyone who is writing their honest experience in reviews (if you read any response to reviews on Hostelworld and perhaps this review, will have to wait and see).

This is a party hostel so if you want to meet people and have a great time then this is for you. The owner is super friendly and welcoming and has ruled about not making noise after a certain time which is appreciated if you need to get some sleep. Seriously the best possible place to meet other travellers in Montanita, I wished I had gone there sooner.

The rooms are maybe a little chaotic with stuff everywhere at times but I dont know how much you can control other people.

They have a kitchen. It's close to town and the beach but far enough from the crazy party noise

My bed in the dorm was super small, couldn't sit on it without hitting the upper bed, but I have to be fair and admit that it was just mine, all the others in the room where proper size. Not enough space in the room to move around, but I don't really care about it. The real problem is the common area, it's nice but way too small for the place, if the hostel is full you don't have place to sit, forget about eating. The vibe could be nice but again, for me a backpacker hostel without enough space in the common area doesn't have sense to exist. There are other hostels nearby for the same price with better facilities and massive common area. If the hostel is less than half full maybe could be a nice place to stay
