This place was relaxing from the moment we drove up the driveway. Was so lovely just watching all the animals play with the hills in the background all from the front porch of our beautifully kept cabin. The cabin was so clean and had all the facilities you need, including a spa bath and fire place.
Thanks Madison Mountain Retreat for a wonderfully relaxing weekend

Previous reviews were helpful for managing expectations. Cabins were peaceful and well maintained. The facilities such as pool and tennis court were very nice. The manager, Ann, was also helpful. However, there was no suitable place for the dog to have freedom. The Alpaca experience was great but they very easily distressed by our Dalmatian.

My 7 year old daughter, our dog and I spent an afternoon and an evening there and all 3 of us had a fabulous time. The animals are well treated and loved, including free ranging hens and peacock. The cabin was clean and the check-in effortless. The pools is long, deep and well maintained. We were also permitted to run our dog in the tennis court after everyone had finished playing, which he loved.

While the cottages are beginning to need some updates, they were clean and comfortable. My son absolutely loved the chickens and alpacas, and there was plenty there to keep an active child engaged while we took a little time to relax. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Great spot about 1:20 from the CBD. Lovely animals and they take pets. Recovering well from bush fires. Recommended

A peaceful surrounding with lots of alpacas! Our cabin was on the far end, overlooking the alpacas paddock. Our dog loved the place, he didn’t mind being stared at by the animals at all. And, we saw alpacas running when they saw our dog, and we never knew alpacas can run that fast!

My family and I spent three lovely days here. The surroundings are beautiful, the cabins are clean and comfortable and it was great that we could bring our dog with us, although he had to stay on the leash at all times when outside. The place however could benefit from an upgrade as it is a bit old and tired and the cabins are pretty pricey.
The tennis court are playable but the pool is only solar heated so not really practical in the winter months.
The alpacas and feeding them were the highlight for my children.
Overall a great stay but, if we stay in the area again, we will try something different.

Steve & Emily were wonderful hosts-very friendly and helpful-our cabin was cosy and warm with a roaring log fire all weekend to keep us toasty, along with everything we needed. In between animal feeding times and roaming around the beautiful property, kicking through all of the Autumn leaves, finding magical red toadstools on the property and enjoying each others company, we really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent!! Fun for all Ages!
We had a fantastic time at Madison's Mountain Retreat. Fun for all ages! Very friendly and accomodating. We were lucky enough to arrive as an Alpaca was being born which filled us all with Joy and Awe. It was Amazing! We were a large group and made use of the guest lounge, which fit us all comfortably and provided lots of entertainment. Cabins were very clean and comfortable. Loved the heated pool and tennis court. It was fun to be able to get involved in feeding the Alpacas and goats. Recommend it to everyone...book it!
