All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and very helpful.

The Higher Buck is a lovely pub in a great location.

You need maintenance to look at slow emptying shower waste (tray fills up )

All food we had here was to a really great level, locally sourced and of a good quantity

Lovely room, clean and comfortable.
Arrived at the property wanting lunch but were informed that the chef had finished till 5.30pm - spent the next 45 minutes ringing around trying to find a pub that was still serving food.
We went out that evening and on our return went into the pub for a drink as we noted people outside still drinking. We we informed that the bar was closed at 10.25pm even to residents.
So apart from breakfast we never had the opportunity to eat or drink there which was a disappointment.

All the staff were so friendly and accommodating and the rooms were so nice with a large comfy bed. Could not fault our stay it was exceptional!

The staff was the best, everyone was so so so lovely and caring - the food was good too :) Loved that it was dog friendly!
Hair in the bathroom, dust on the showerhead and behind TV (you have the option to move the TV so that's how we noticed, not because we were being fussy)

Staff very friendly and food was great if pricey. Good breakfast
The room ( Fallow) was at the rear, over the kitchen and we were woken at 6.30am every morning by the kitchen staff coming into work. They were moving kitchen equipment around and then turned on a radio and a very noisy, large extractor fan which was turned off about 10.00pm. Didn't expect a a view of the flat kitchen roof on our Golden Wedding day.

Higher buck was exceptional very friendly,rooms brilliant,the staff where. Friendly,very accomodating,will go back again.the only person I didn’t much care for was the owners brother,I thought was not polite,everyone else was terrific.

Beautiful location . Wonderful attentive staff . Excellent food ( one of top 50 gastro in uk ) . Immaculate . Really have no area to offer development . Can’t wait to go back .

The room was well furnished, clean and comfortable
We booked a superior room but there were fans and air conditioning units running all night on the ground floor which we could hear in the room so couldn't get a good night's sleep. The manager has said he will refund the cost of our stay.
