Excellent stay.

Great location (5 mins walk to Old Village and 10 mins to seafront), free parking, excellent service and nice breakfasts. The host really made an effort to make sure our stay was pleasant. Would definitely return in the future.

We went for a small double room, which was a little tight for two people but was fine for a few nights stay. Would probably go for a slightly bigger room in the future. Can't really fault much else to be honest!

If your happy to be confined to your room this is fine but unfortunately it’s not for us.

The property is lovely and the place is spotless with easy access to the town.

We did not like the impersonal nature with no one to greet you on arrival, having breakfast in the room and no use of an outside space like the garden. we did ask about the garden and if we could sit out as it was lovely weather but we’re told no. we also felt we had to go out early so the room could be serviced. we like to interact with other guests even if it’s just in the breakfast room but this is not possible here. The photos of the property can miss lead you into thinking you have access to the lovely garden.

Perfect location for short trip to visit family had everything we needed.

Perfect location to the old village. Continental breakfast brought to the room good choice and variety. Room was clean and comfortable.

Had a lovely pleasant few days.

room was clean and comfortable,small but everything in it including a small fridge with fresh milk provided every day. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were very pleasant.

Excellent....would definitely recommend

I think this was the cleanest place I've ever stayed. The staff were very friendly. There was plenty of breakfast and it was all very fresh. The basket of fruit and box of biscuits on arrival was a lovely surprise. Great location for walking into town/the beach.

If I'm being very picky, I would have preferred a bit of choice on the time of breakfast but it generally worked out well given the timings of when attractions opened on the island.

Excellent stay. I would choose the Fernbank again.

Breakfast was good. Staff were excellent and extremely friendly and welcoming. The Guest house was very homely and welcoming. The Room was lovely and all the facilities were good. The location was excellent and quiet whilst within walking distance to the High Street and Local Amenities. Felt more like a home away from home.

Breakfast, although Continental could have a bit more variety like Boiled eggs and other items, not just the same menu everyday. For stays up to a week, this becomes too repetitive.

A wonderful escape with great views

I liked how quiet it was and the garden views. It’s a beautiful place if you need privacy and a serene place away from the city noise.

none so far really; maybe the beds could be a bit softer but honestly a great stay. The ladies bringing the breakfast were friendly and wore smiles always

If we had to stay in the hotel for any length of time it would not be a comfortable place to be.

Hotel lovely very nice swimming pool. Breakfasts were very good.

Even better than expected - a fantastic stay. Superb location, filling cooked breakfast (prepared as requested) and clean room and amenities. It's hard to imagine there could be a better place to stay in Shanklin.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy very hot weather when we stayed and the lack of air conditioning made things a bit too warm in the room at times but we were supplied with a fan and of course opened the windows so it wasn't too bad.

Cannot fault anything , it was ideal and very relaxing.

Breakfasts were very well cooked and the service from Di and Sam was excellent

Our hosts Graham and Liz were very keen to give every guest a welcoming stay. Helping with luggage, parking, booking meals at restaurants. The pool was always immaculate and lovely garden to sit in

Lovely stay would come back to a bigger room

Clean and comfortable. Cleaned daily

Tv didn’t always get a signal. Kept knocking our ankles on the wardrobe as it was so close to the bed.

My second stay at this hotel and I would return

The hotel was very clean and covid safe. Good vegetarian breakfast and a lovely fresh fruit platter, served in a beautiful airy conservatory. On the last day it was warm enough to eat breakfast in the gardens. The room was very quiet and comfortable, only slight disappointment was that I’d asked for a bath but due to a change of ownership this request had got lost. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The swimming pool was a bonus

Swimming pool was cold when we went in but that might of been because it was early the shower cubicle had a few stray hairs I think we were the first to use it that morning so maybe not cleaned properly the day before

As a big guy,the bed for a superior room was too small for a couple. That said,I would go back in a second !!

Superb

Staff were very friendly and Covid aware. Recommendations on local places to eat and drink were extremely helpful considering some of our pre planned restaurants were closed on certain days due to Covid restrictions. Lovely location, close to Shanklin restaurants, pubs; as well as comfortable walk for us to Shanklin Chine and beachfront - although the inclines may not suit everyone. Morning breakfast provided lots of variety and was a great way to fill up before long days of sightseeing around the island. Rooms were very clean, with extra precautions taken for Covid - rooms left vacant for a period of time between guests; keys/TV remote in plastic bags when you arrive because they've been disinfected.

The bedding was a little heavy for our tastes. Going into winter, perhaps the majority of people prefer the heavier bedding but for us it felt a little like the sheets were weighted. Due to this only being a short stay, we didn't get around to requesting whether other bedding was available, but I'm sure the owner would have been accommodating if we had.

Very enjoyable, relaxing stay with very friendly staff.& superb breakfasts. Highly recommended.

Breakfasts were excellent particularly in garden . Not every hotel can do a perfect poached egg but they can here ! Staff very friendly and helpful. A warm welcome . Comfortable cosy room . Very clean and with excellent safeguards during coronavirus situation . Felt safe. Excellent location.
