Location was beautiful despite being in rainy season. (It would be lovely when the sun comes out!) The staff was very nice and the food was great as well! The rooms were a beautiful retreat away and I would gladly recommend to friends and family!

Unfortunately given rainy season, there was unideal weather. The resort offered “activities” but almost all of them could not actually take place because of the rain and wind. That was disappointing.

Traumhafte und super gepflegte Hotelanlage. Unser Zimmer (Ocean View Villa) war wirklich ein Traum. Die Ausstattung war super und der eigene Pool ein Highlight. Es gibt jeden Tag verschiedene Aktivitäten, denen man sich anschließen kann (Yoga, Fitness, etc.). Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Die Speisekarte könnte etwas abwechslungsreicher sein für längere Aufenthalte. Das strikte Verbot Lebensmittel (Getränke, Snacks, etc.) mit ins Hotel zu bringen.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting in Ninh Van Bay and the rooms are very elegantly designed with stunning views. The welcome lounge is a nice touch and the water shuttle is a fantastic welcome to the island. Hiking to the secluded stream was a good little excursion but the private pools in the villas are better for relaxing.

The main issue with the resort is the restaurant. While the food is ok (but not amazing) it is awfully overpriced. We “splashed out” on our final evening by getting the private dining setup on the jetty (around £35) which was lovely, but then to end up paying £175 for a meal for two with one cocktail and one glass of wine each is excessive. For that price you’d expect Michelin star quality food and unfortunately this didn’t cut it for quality and especially service. As an example, one of the glasses of wine we were served tasted like rancid port, we informed the waiter that the bottle had been open for too long and upon checking it she told us it’d been open for 20 days. That’s an OK mistake to make in a cheap and cheerful restaurant but when you’re paying top dollar you expect more. The staff at times were a little overbearing - when I’m in the middle of eating I don’t want to be interrupted to be upsold spa treatments. The villas do not by default have keys you can lock them with which we found a bit unsettling but we had no issues. But due to the “rustic” design the inside was not sealed from outside so there were plenty of geckos in the room at night, whose loud croaks would wake us up each night! Also while we were staying there was renovation work being done to the pool area installing new decking which a) we weren’t told about and b) weren’t apologised for. Work started at 7am and also woke us up as it was right outside our villa and in a normal 5-star hotel you’d expect some kind of apology for the inconvenience at least if not also a token of goodwill in a free cocktail or something similar. Ultimately this hotel lacks the polish you’d expect from a true 5-star resort but if you come prepared to accommodate for that then it’s perfectly fine. And make sure you’re ready to overpay for food as there aren’t really any other options!

Loved the vibe of the resort, very relaxing and truly a retreat experience. The staff was attentive and welcoming. My butler Ngan was very helpful and accommodating, giving advices on the resort and our transportation arrangement etc. The room is extremely spacious and comfortable with relatively new facilities.

+ The transporting boat (from lounge to resort) can be renovated or even upgraded to a bigger one as it was shaky some time. This should really be considered as part of resort’s facilities and your overall “experience”. I’d seriously consider this especially if traveling with elderly/children. + Food menu is acceptable in terms of pricing but can add a bit more of variety.

Location and unique vibe. Very friendly staff. Close to nature.

Not warned about only being allowed to order food and drink from hotel facilities. Got expensive and feel we should be allowed to bring and consume simple snacks.

We had an incredible experience at An Lam, where we stayed for our honeymoon. The location is amazing, as well as the staff and the equipments.

Everything is exceptional! Thanks to the resort for having me and my family a very well spending times here

Not a thing

The resort is beautiful, quite and directly in the jungle, with a lot of things to do, we stayed 4 nights, our villa on the beach was fantastic and very luxourious.

A little too expensive considering other luxus hotels in Vietnam and the poor quality of the sea. The resort is very clean, but if you walk on the beach on the left or right side of the resort, you can find a lot of dirty on the beach or on the jungles (old plastic bottle, shopping bags, old boxes et cetera). The resort shold take care of the environment also around the resort and request and ask the lifeguards who spend most of the day looking at their mobile phones to clean the beach a little further away from where hotel guests bathe. In the sea immediately in front of the three beach villas, it is unfortunately not possible to bathe well because there are many shallow rocks that prevent swimming: this should be communicated when booking. In addition, the sea is not blue or light green as it appears in the photos (perhaps the sea is like this during other seasons) but dark green and in the afternoon murky and with no visibility. We spent 4 days in this beautiful resort.
