Personal top, sehr freundlich!! Lage toll!!!

Fleur de Lys is a beautiful hotel in a prime location nearby city center. It’s very safe and had fantastic and nice staff. The beds were comfortable and were well kept. Breakfast was also really good!
The beds seemed a bit old so we’re a little lumpy. I wish towels were switched out every 2 days, but I understand the lack of demand for this. I wish the bar was open as well.

Location was great for museums and picking up car rental.
Breakfast included and was well stocked and fresh.Choice of fruit, juice, toast and hot items. Staff were helpful and smiley.
Rooms were basic and old but clean and well maintained.
They booked an airport pick up taxi for us.
Restaurant was closed, area was a bit scuzzy after dark.

Super value for money. We used it for one night stop over. It could be loud if you have noisy neighbours and the train starts beeping at 4.30am but I had ear plugs and didn't hear it...I'm a very light sleeper! Breakfast was okay but didn't expect much given the price. Can't complain, can't go wrong for the value here
Great stay.
Could do with sound insulation between rooms but it just depends who you have staying next to you.

The evening before check out, I applied for a taxi reservation to the airport at 6 AM. But the taxi didn't come. In the morning that day nobody was. The receptionist lied. I was very upset that the airport was late.

This was our 3rd stay at Fleur de Lys! We love this hotel for the friendly and helpful staff and unique setting in what seems like a mansion turned into a place to stay. I believe they remodeled rooms since our last stay. Comfortable beds and bedding. Full breakfast is included. Location works for us as we like to explore the city a bit and learn more about the people and history. Close to the National M useum and Theatre. Highly recommend.

Really nice hotel in a very nice location, I stay here every time I'm spending more than a short overnight in San José. Facilities are basic but clean. The hotel is beautiful. Breakfast is simple but good as well.
Beds could be more comfortable. Comfortable enough to get a good sleep but not the highlight of the hotel.

Nice comfortable beds. Great showers
Noisy squeaky fans can be heard below. We had a corridor room and it was unfortunately noisy.

This hotel was incredible! The property, decor and style of the hotek is gorgeous, it looks very fancy and has a lot of charm! The staff was so helpful, very friendly and the breakfast was of great quality. The rooms were beautiful and super clean, and we even got a balcony which was an unexpected but welcomed surprise. We kept talking about how great the shower was, the water pressure was awesome! The location was very good. San Jose can be a bit scary especially during the night, and we felt super safe (two young women) to go out and get dinner even after dark. It is close to all sights and many delicious food places. The highlight of our trip was how helpful the staff was: we accidentally dropped a quite expensive face wash from a ledge onto a part of the hotel roof/balcony below us and we were surprised with how quickly the receptionist and housekeeping helped us retrieve it! They didn't have to go out of their way to help us with our silly mistake, but they did so with a smile! 10/10 would recommend. I would stay here again!
The breakfast could have been stocked a little better: they were out of toast and coffee, and when asked if there was any more bread they did not bring any out. However, the rest of the breakfast was super yummy and quite filling, so it is still worth it for this price!

Noisy (a train!) and uncomfortable and almost no window. The room is not worth of what I payed.. I asked for a supreme room (68usd) because I wanted to rest, and directly asked the staff if it was calm because I wanted to sleep (the noise of the train started at around 5 and you can listen cars too), she told me there was no problem. I got a backache, the bed is hard, unstable. One soap. The window is covered, so, you don't get natural light. The carpet was dirty and with spots and the Wifi has no good signal in the room. Towels are old and the faucets are old and don't work well. The lobby was nice enough to think the rooms will be ok. A

The manager was very nice and so was the breakfasts
Unfortunately I didn’t get the room I booked online, when I asked for the room I booked and payed for the woman behind the desk said she couldn’t help me. So I got a small, dirty room (very dirty bathroom) and I had NO hot water in the shower. There was no room service, no restaurant in the hotel and they had construction work in the room next to mine so from 06 in the morning they were making so much noise I couldn’t sleep. I still payed full price for this even know it was not at all what I booked. When I complained about all these things, I got an apology but no refund. Too bad.

Beautiful interior, kind and helpful staff, close to museums and China Town. Reception staff was really keen to help with phone numbers etc. and also with things that were missing in the room. We were allowed to leave our luggage for a week after checking out when travelling onwards. I am sorry to write a bad review because the place has many good sides to it, but they really need to be accurate when it comes to what they offer.
Photos are not accurate. Below second photo is our suite and third and forth another suite, that is pictured at booking.com. This trip was a special one for me, and we had some very specific needs. Some of the main reasons why I booked this hotel was the buffet breakfast (only thing you can help yourself to is toasts and coffee/tea), an on-site restaurant felt practical and safe (it is closed) and having a spacious room with a working space etc. When we arrived our room was not available because of an overbooking due to guests staying longer since their plane was cancelled. I can understand this, and we were upgraded to the superior suite which was not ideal for our needs, but ok.(No window though, only and tiny interior balcony.) The following morning we were asked to move to our suite, and when I had time to check pics and what I had booked I realized it definitely did not meet our expectations. There were no bedside lamps and only one bedside table because there was not enough space in the room. No chairs, no desk you could use since the tiny fridge was on the desk. I was told by staff that the definition of a suite is two double beds. This is also incorrect in the description. Some staff discovered that day that the room where we were staying was "a suite". I recommended the description/photos are corrected on booking.com, but they have not changed anything since our stay. This is also incorrect in the description. Some staff discovered that day that the room where we were staying was a suite. It did have two double beds and they brought us lamps that could barely fit the bedside table and an armchair that was also difficult to fit into the room. The breakfast room was tiny and when there were groups there was not enough space to sit, people were sitting in on the lobby couch etc, service was very slow when many people and on our last day we were no one got cheese, they had probably run out if it. Portions were small for Costa Rica.

This is a super cute spot! The building itself is beautiful, and they have so much art decorating it, you feel like you’re walking through a gallery on your way to your room. All the rooms are named for flowers, which is such a charming little feature. The staff was kind and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty. The room was simple, but that’s all I needed. Very clean and comfortable. The hotel is a short walk from the national theatre and parque central. It’s a great location that seemed to be in the middle of plenty to do. I wish I’d had more than half a day there on my way back to the States!

I had to postpone my stay by one day. Fortunately, I got a direct answer that it was no problem at all. Even on the day of travel, I received a message 2 hours before my arrival at the hotel that they were waiting for me. When I finally arrived, nobody knew anything about the booking, there were no free rooms and since it was already Saturday evening and the whole city seemed to be fully booked, I had to walk to a hotel nearby where I had to take the only room still available - which was of course the most expensive room. I can understand that it's not so easy to postpone a booking, and if I had been told in advance, it wouldn't have been a problem. But to get the confirmation just before my arrival and then to arrive there and be told that they don't know anything about my case ... not cool at all.

The building looks very cool and has nice colonial aesthetics. For the price we payed it was fine. If I'd stay there again, i'd invest in a suite, since our standard room was really small.
When we arrived for breakfast, no one was there - had to wait good 15 mins for someone to arrive.
