The wifi is non existant and was charged extra for using all the facilities of the apartment ie rooms and balconies.I was not told i had no acesss to other bedrooms and for this i was billed.Just like the other review where someone had guests over and was billed for it.So if booking for 2 just be aware you cannot have use or you will be charged.And make sure you have plenty of data for your phone as the apartment is full of dead spots.

Spacious apartment in a well Located neighbourhood

What a wonderful visit we had exploring this small island, enjoying excellent food & meeting wonderful people. The condo was comfortable, clean & ideally located. Sarah was a wonderful host & very understanding. Hopefully we will visit another time.

Fabulous apartment which was more impressive than photos show. Good communication with owner. Location excellent for closeness to centre and good transport around nearby for travel around the island.

The location of this property was ideal as it is in a pretty central location. It was a short walk to many shops, restaurants, and supermarket. Staying at this property is a great way to experience Madiera .

Excellent location, walking distance to everywhere. Lovely big apartment. Very clean and well presented. Sarah was a really nice host and communications were excellent. We would recommend this place to everybody. A lovely holiday and a great experience. Thank you.

This is a lovely apartment beautifully decorated and in an ideal situation lots of restaurants nearby and close to the town centre there are several small balconies to enjoy the sunshine ….. it’s perfect

Sarah's apartment is spacious and very well equipped. It's also got a view of the water front and it's located in what we consider to be in the best part of Funchal. Sarah was easy to reach and always responsive. We had a great stay and will stay here again on our next visit.

The apartment was very spacious and very well appointed. The location was excellent with the harbour very close and lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

Sarah’s organisation was great, from our taxi driver meeting us (and returning us to the airport) to where to eat on our first evening. The apartment is just as it is described on the website. The beds and bedding were comfortable and the decor welcoming. We love to cook and the kitchen was well equipped. The location is great - fat enough away from the city centre to be a bit quieter at night, but closes enough to get in and out to the shops and activities. Could not have been better! All in all a great family getaway to a friendly and beautiful island full of sunshine and gracious people. We will return!

Nice well equipped spacey apartment in Funchal 15 minute walk to centre and shops. Supermarket and bars close by. Would recommended this as a wonderful place to stay.

The apartment is spacious, clean and conveniently located. However, there is a camera located directly inside the door to the apartment, which the owner uses to remotely monitor your movements. We had told her in advance that our family would be arriving first and then another family would be arriving a few days later. We gave precise information on the number of guests. However, Sarah accused us of having more guests in the apartment for more days than we had disclosed. She was wrong and later backed off, but it was VERY unpleasant for us to be wrongly accused of lying, by email, by someone we had never met. The other event that was a huge turnoff for us was that we offered to pay an additional amount we owed, in advance, through HomeAway, but Sarah declined and instead insisted that we pay her friend, in cash, at the airport as a condition to getting the key to the apartment. That added an element of stress upon our arrival at the airport that was most unwelcome. In none of our other rentals through HomeAway have we had such negative experiences. Together these interactions with the owner cast a pall over our otherwise wonderful stay in Madeira. We certainly would not rent this apartment in the future.

We enjoyed staying in this lovely and well equipped apartment. Sarah was very helpful and even left us a fob to enter and leave via the garage, although we didn't have a car with us, as I have a bit of a mobility problem. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone. Thanks Sarah!

Sarah was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend this property to anyone thinking of visiting Madeira. It is perfectly placed for visiting Funchal central 15 min walk), or alternatively the Hotel district, where there are lots of lovely restaurants. Also a short taxi ride to Doco Do Cavacas, where we had swim in rock pools and had a lovely day. Also Worth walking up past the cable cars and there are lots of little side streets and Squares to spen a lovely evening enjoying. The apartment had everything you need and has balconies (5) that get the sun all day. A lovely place - thanks Sarah

We've just come back from a 5 day break in Funchal and we stayed in Sarah's lovely apartment. It's beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. There are 4 stunning bedrooms and 2 lovely bathrooms and there is everything you need. The kitchen is so well equipped you would be able to cook a big dinner for many people! There are many balconies although if you wanted to sunbathe you might struggle as the sun doesn't reach them all with the tall buildings around. I would definitely stay in Sarah's apartment if we went back to Funchal again. We used the taxi driver Sarah recommended and he was lovely, showing us a couple of towns on our way to the airport. He was £30 euros each way. The only negative is there is a barking dog which can be a little irritating but it didn't disturb our sleep so didn't bother us too much. Funchal is quite expensive, so eating at some of the little side streets works out to be much cheaper. It's also very hilly so your calf muscles will be put to the test! If you're thinking of staying in Funchal, this apartment won't let you down! Thankyou Sarah for your excellent communication and gorgeous apartment.

This was a wonderful stay. We loved the apartment and Sarah was very helpful. The location is perfect for Funchal - literally, it is ideal location. ONE THING TO CONSIDER - the place does not have AC. That was zero problem in June for us. However, it can get warm in Madeira, so keep that in mind if you book during July and August. But if that is not an issue for you or if you are traveling during moderate temperature months, I highly recommend this place.

Great location not far from the centre, even with the hill on the way back home that people mention, no need for taxi's unless you have a serious mobility issue, but Madeira is hilly. The apartment was fantastic, clean and everything you would need, the internet access does disappear in certain rooms though due to size of apartment and walls. The location is also easy access to what is known as the Hotel area where there are other Bars and restaurants, so you can go to town one night and the hotel area the next night without needing a taxi. Sitting out on the balcony in a morning and evening was pleasant even with the new building work going off for the new hotel opposite. In all we had a great time and could not have found a better place to stay. The pickup and drop off offered by Sarah also worked like a charm.

The apartment is incredibly spacious. Even with 4 of us there was room for qiet space. The layout is a little strange as the largest balcony for afternoon relaxing is off one of the bedrooms. Our only complaint is there’s nowhere to sunbathe.

stayed in January apartment is a short walk from the harbour & the centre of funchal 10 to 15 mins for all the shops & restaurants but is in a very quiet location for a city beds are very comfortable (best we have had in funchal for 15 years) & there is a small supermarket at the end of the road you can see it from the balcony they have a good selection of all essentials & fresh bread every day back balconies get sun in the morning & front in the afternoon we will certainly be returning to this apartment

Exactly as advertised - so much room - spotlessly clean throughout. Bedroom with long balcony felt like a suite. Excellent shower with so many settings - didn't try them all !! Good choice of dvd's and books. Close to a number of really good restaurants - our favourites were Casal Da Penha and Beef & Wine - both no more than a 4/5 minute walk away. Pleasant walk into town down a steep hill - we always went through Santa Caterina park and had a taxi back (6 euro). Didn't hear any noise from other occupants except a dog barking for endless hours on the ground floor - you wonder why dog owners can be so insensitive to other people. This is no reflection on Sarah (the owner) but it was a bit of a pain at times especially in the evenings. The taxi service organised by Sarah worked really well - John even took us on a short tour of his home town (Santa Cruz) on the way back to the airport. Excellent communication with Sarah prior to our stay.

Stayed at Sarah's apartment from 23rd - 30th October 2017. Was expecting the odd shower and clouds but Funchal had a heatwave and every day we were met with blue skies and soaring temperatures. We made the most of the weather and explored all the main visitor attractions. Then at the end of a tiring day we came back to our lovely apartment. This is the biggest apartment I have every stayed in and my two companions were thrilled with their bedrooms, bathroom facilities and all the luxury of staying in a well loved home. All the beds and bedding are of a superior quality and Sarah provides a plentiful supply of towels and beach towels. We did eat in on many evenings, but there are numerous lovely restaurants a minutes walk from the apartment. For able walkers the centre of Funchal is 10 minutes away. A truly lovely apartment and great value for money.

Loved the apartment. Fabulous and very spacious, with several balconies, so you can always choose whether you want to be in sunshine or shade. Very clean with very comfortable beds and good bed linen. I have never slept so well! The walk into the centre was just about 10 minutes, so a great location. Would definately book again.
