Relaxing, clean, and peaceful
About this house rental
Enjoy one of America’s best rated small towns in one of its best rated accommodations. Blowing Rock Bungalow is a bright, clean, comfortable, cozy, enchanting, and relaxing to stay. Only 1.5 miles from the center of Blowing Rock and across Goforth Rd from Blowing Rock golf course. Blowing Rock Bungalow is located on 1/2 acre (where deer are seen frequently) above this delightfully quaint town filled with boutiques, restaurants, hiking trails, beautiful parks, antique stores, and a village green where children can play as adults relax under the gazebo. BRB is minutes away from the town of Boone, home to Appalachian State University, the Blue Ridge Parkway and its vast offering of nature trails. For the bargain shopper, the Tanger Outlet is just a few minutes away. After a day of mountain excursions, enjoy the sunset, wildlife, and mountain views from one of the two back decks or stone patio or curl up with a good book from our library in front of the floor to ceiling windows. Other nearby activities include Price Lake, Tweetsie Railroad, gem mining, Moses Cone Park, the Blowing Rock, Zip Line, and many activities for the whole family. Additional information: This bungalow is easily accessible from the circular driveway - with plenty of parking space available. The property extends from the 'bear box' metal trash container on the right of the property (level to the street) to the rhododendron bushes on the left side. No steps to climb! Cozy, Bright, Comfortable, Clean describes this two story, two bedroom, two bathroom bungalow. Second bedroom is tucked away at the base of a spiral staircase. A 4 foot wide wooden staircase (exterior) connects upper and lower decks. With two queen beds, a double futon and a twin air mattress, this bungalow is able to accommodate a total of 6 people. Enjoy your complimentary cup of coffee or tea, and breakfast bar on the back porch or the kitchen table overlooking Grandfather Mountain. Relax on Adirondacks on the stone patio with the fire pit or play games in the large back yard with friends and family. Hiking, golf, and the outlet mall are all nearby. Boone is a 15 minute drive. Brochures and maps are located on the coffee table. DVDs, games, and puzzles are inside the coffee table. If you are ambitious and enjoy walking, you can get to to Main Street along Sunset Drive. We provide light snacks, water bottles, sodas, oatmeal, coffee, creamer, tea, and other beverages. If you have a special request, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you! Check in and Check Out instructions: Text me with any questions: Nancy 919-604-4680. Calls to my number go directly to voicemail. Messages on the Air BnB or VRBO apps can be delayed up to 24 hours. Firepit: After removing the cover, follow instructions on the side of the firepit step by step, to light it. Please allow it to cool and then replace the cover after each time you use it, so it does not get wet. NEVER USE WOOD, STICKS OR PAPER, AS THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. The gas propane tank ignites and heats up the rocks inside the pit. Lights on back deck: The light switch on the left of the refrigerator will turn them on. To use the light beside the back door on the upper deck, there is a pull chain located on the side of the bulb. Heat/AC: White remotes on the walls of bedrooms and family room are used for air conditioning/heating. Adjust them in 2 degree increments by touching the ‘too warm’ or ‘too cool’ buttons until they gradually reach the desired temperature. If they are set more than 2 degrees from current temperature too quickly, air vents will close. Toilets: Please flush only toilet paper. The septic tank gets clogged with any other items, including tissues. Trash: Pick up is on Tuesdays and cans are located in the ‘Bear Box’ on the side of the driveway, close to the street. Security: Two outdoor cameras are on front and back porches for your security. Lights on front porch and at the driveway automatic turn on at dusk and go off at dawn. A motion detector light is located by the basement door on the lower left side of the house. Indoor Activities: If the weather is keeping you inside, check out the Watuga County Recreation Center at 231 Complex Drive, Boone. (828-264-9511) In the family room coffee table and TV stand, you will find board games and puzzles. Outdoor Activities: Hammock and a yard game are located in the lower level bathroom closet. Hooks for the hammock are on the lower level deck. Across Goforth Road: Walking on Blowing Rock golf course cart paths after 7 pm, Trails behind BR Conference Center. CHECKING OUT: Set the two Mitsubishi heating/AC units on the main level and the one unit in the lower level bedroom at 78 degrees in the summer and 61 degrees in the winter. Please empty all indoor trash cans into the kitchen trash container, tie bag, and place the bag in the outdoor trash can in the ‘bear box’ on the driveway by the street before checking out. Please remove only sheets, pillow cases, bath mats, and towels and place them on the laundry room floor. Please empty coffee grounds and wash dirty dishes and leave them on a towel on the side of the kitchen sink. Turn off the back porch lights if you used them, along with all other lights. https://www.travelawaits.com/2559580/best-things-to-do-in-blowing-rock-nc/ How To Spend A Perfect Weekend In Beautiful Blowing Rock, NC

We had a very pleasant stay at this cute bungalow near Blowing Rock and Boone. It was clean and well-stocked and very convenient to the areas we would be spending time in over the weekend. Our communication with the owner was efficient and timely. We enjoyed our time here very much!

This is the second time I have chosen Nancy's place to stay, it's just that good! The house had some minor improvements since the last time I stayed. Love that the kitchen is stocked with everything you would need to cook and the yard is perfect for pets or sitting out and enjoying the view/weather.

Great weekend trip to Blowing Rock and Boone. The house was convenient to downtown and all the restaurants. Very clean and neat. Just as described during the booking process.

This cabin was the absolute cutest and perfect spot for our family that includes 2 young kids and a dog. The layout is great and gave the kids their own space on the bottom level. All the amenities and essentials we needed. Decorated and furnished to be so cozy. We enjoyed the quiet area, close to the golf course, outlets, downtown. We will be looking to stay here again!

My young kids and husband took a weekend trip to the mountains, and this property was perfect! It had a great Mountain View, when the fog finally cleared, and was the best
Location to anything we needed. The kids loved the spiral staircase, and the house had everything we needed! We will definitely be back to this home in the future!

We loved our stay at the Blowing Rock Bungalow and would definitely book it again. Located in a lovely neighborhood and close to in-town shopping and restaurants as well as the Blowing Rock landmark. Lots of nice updates and our accommodations were excellent. Easy check in/out. The only negative (and it's a small one) is the lack of a dishwasher. It wasn't a problem since there were only four of us, but might be an issue with a group of six. We used disposable plates and cutlery, and everyone pitched in with kitchen clean up, as we did quite a bit of cooking. Easy morning breakfasts, lunches out during the day, and dinners at home followed by movies and board games. A fun, relaxing weekend for all of us. Thank you for the lovely accommodations, Nancy, and we look forward to another stay in the near future!

We met our adult daughter and son-in-law in Blowing Rock for the weekend to visit our Grandson, who has just started App State. We found this property to be well located and lovely. The setting and view over the back yard were so nice and private, yet in a neighborhood. The home was comfortable and cozy, well stocked, and exceptionally clean. The owner was wonderful and easy to communicate with; she made our stay a pleasure. I would definitely recommend this home in Blowing Rock!

Excellent location, beautiful accommodations. Would have been helpful to list the no shoes policy as my elderly family with orthotics were uncomfortable without proper support. Really enjoyed our stay overall. Thank you.

Great location and beautiful big yard
Very kind and flexible owner who offered us early check in and late check out. House is not fancy and is small. No dishwasher or drying rack so clean up is a bit tough. Good for 2 people but tough for a larger group.

Nancy's place was a lovely get-away for us. The house itself is cute, VERY clean and cozy. My daughter and her cousin loved playing outside in the large yard and I could easily watch them from the windows in the living room. Nancy takes the extra effort to make sure her guests have everything they need. We came away from the weekend refreshed. I will definitely book again!

Very comfortable and unique home with beautiful Mountain Views and a nice yard which our kids and puppy enjoyed. Host thought of everything to make the home cozy and comfortable. She also posts notes all around the home with specific and helpful instructions. The only downside we experienced was the first floor bedroom was very cold due to the cold temps outside so we didn’t end up using that room. Also the water doesn’t get very hot in the upstairs shower but the downstairs shower was perfect due to proximity to the heater. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here.

The unique octagonal home is in a great location with a nice size yard. The home is within minutes of downtown Blowing Rock. The view of grandfather mountain from the living room and off the back deck is great. Perfect for a nice sunset view. Suited for two couples space-wise. We did not use the downstairs area but the spiral staircase could be a challenge for some. Would stay here again.

Perfect getaway in Blowing Rock
I cannot say enough good things about Nancy and her beautiful cabin! The cabin has everything you need and is beautifully decorated. The location is perfect- so close to Blowing Rock and surrounding areas, yet you feel like you have your own retreat "away from it all". We loved that we could bring our golden retriever with us. The dog and our kids LOVED the HUGE back yard and fire pit. We cooked most meals at the home and it had everything you could need. Beds were very comfortable. We had a blast counting all of the adorable black bear decorations in the cabin :) We went to Hawksnest twice for snow tubing, went hiking along the Blue RIdge and had lunch in Blowing Rock. All so easy to get to. Nancy was an amazing hostess. She was flexible with our check in times and even saved us as my son left his school issued computer charger plugged in. She had is shipped to us right away. I highly recommend Nancy and her cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and fun mountain trip

For context, we visited in January while there as still snow on the ground and temperatures were between 15 and 40 degrees.
The house is clean and well appointed, it is located five minutes from downtown Blowing Rock. The shape and structure are interesting, there is a lot of light, especially in the living area. One thing we missed was a dishwasher, as we usually cook and eat at home.
We weren't impressed with heating either, as the system consists of three wall mounted units that can be adjusted in two degree increments at a time (they'll shut off if you go higher). As the house is kept at 59 when guests leave, it took a good six hours for the house to come to a comfortable temperature. The unit in the living area just didn't seem to be able to heat the large open area and kept shutting off, so we bought a space heater and that solved our heating issues. The downstairs unti is newer and had no problem heating the bedroom.
We really enjoyed the backyard as our five year old could go sledding right at the house, then run in to warm up. Decor was very nice as well, and it had a decent assortment of games and puzzles, as well as dvds and books.
Overall a pleasant experience that could have been excellent if we didn't struggle with the heat. We might come back again, but bring a space heater this time around :).

Cutest cabin in prime location!!
We loved our stay at Nancy’s cabin. She was so responsive and accommodating, providing sleds for the foot of snow we got and also allowing us to leave later until the roads were safe to drive on! She also provided so many snacks, waters, coffee, creamer and even dog treats. Location is fantastic - private, but just a couple minutes from downtown Blocking Rock!

While it didn't turn out to be a post-covid visit after all we still had a wonderful family time with my daughter and son-in-law(in the house with us) and my granddaughter and her fiance (Blowing Rock residents)
The house gave us a perfect home base for a long overdue gathering. Thank you!
