The people upstairs are awful. The amount of noise the toddler made running and jumping all day was honestly frightening at times. Not to mention we would wake up between 5-6 am every weekday morning when someone up there would get up for work and stomp around. The kid also was smacking our window with sticks one day and when we came outside we saw he had destroyed one of the bushes out front. Definitely needed to be cleaned better. The shower was gross, the floor might have been vacuumed but the vacuum was broken so it hadn’t been effective for who knows how long, and there was someone else’s hair and dead bugs on the ceiling. Most things weren’t stocked and we ran out of other things quickly during our 2-week stay. The sheets were so scratchy we had to go out and get new ones. I was pleased with the amount of small appliances and cookware in the kitchen. Also the property manager was very quick to bring us a new vacuum when we found the one we had was broken.

Every morning at 7:00 a.m. sharp we woke up with the kid and adults upstairs above our apartment. And then all day long kid running, playing, and or crying. No soundproofing between floors.

The good: Very clean The bad: Confusing location. The description of the unit as a “house” is misleading. It not a “house” but a non-separate downstairs unit of a house. The upstairs occupants were noisy. In fact, I had to call Customer Service to ask the owners to stop the noise. Once that call was made, it was quiet and I began to enjoy my stay.

I get it, a basement apartment will be a bit small. However, this comes equipped with a child size table and chairs. Shower curtain needed a good cleaning.

Very clean. Well supplied kitchen. Slippery dark driveway on a hill, not great for arrival after dark in the winter; not salted or cleared. Water in shower only warm, doesn’t get hot; not great in winter after being outside. A lot of loud pounding and banging above in the daytime, assuming children live upstairs; not loud at night though. Very bright Christmas lights outside the bedroom window made it hard to sleep. I asked that they be turned off and was told they would be. They were not. The second night I went and unplugged them myself. The location is great, walkable to the shopping area.

All features of this guesthouse--the location, the accommodations, the amenities--helped us make the most of our 8-day visit as "temporary residents" of Gig Harbor! The living spaces and fully-equipped kitchen provided much more flexibility than a hotel. The other permanent residents of this property (two families) were friendly and welcoming too. We would happily return to "The Nest" and recommend other travelers to check it out as well!

My visit started in January and the short daylight and rain made parking on the street rather than the driveway unpleasant.
The unit was clean, well-stocked and the neighbors seemed safe. Those things are more important to me so booked another stay!

When I had concerns or questions about my stay the manager responded quickly to resolve issues including not having a place to easily hang my bath towels to dry even when it required the maintenance person to come and install new towel bars. WOW, how nice!

We had a nice stay! Perfect location for us as we were visiting family that lives a couple streets down. Nice and cute place! Comfortable environment, nice kitchenette, nice furniture, relaxing colors and nice light fixtures, etc. The couche could be upgraded to something more comfortable. The bed definitely needs updating. A washer and dryer available for use which is nice - 2 laundry pods were provided. Dishwasher available - 1 pod provided Amazing view!! The only suggestion would be replacing the bed. Communication through the app was great, a code at the door instead of a key was really nice to not have to worry about who has the keys.. Very clean! Thank you for giving us a great stay at Gig Harbor. Merry Christmas!

I didn’t love anything about this stay. The furniture was not comfortable, the sofa is trashed, the air mattress had a hole, the local manager wasn’t available to help fix the problem , the closet door fell on my Son. The air mattresses that were delivered to replace the queen with the hole came with no way to pump them up, so we had to go buy batteries the next day. We lost three nights of sleep during our 4 night stay….

My only criticism would be the noise from upstairs but I knew that going in from other reviews. The kids up there quieted down by 9-9:30 and didn’t get up til 8 so it was fine for me :) otherwise a great stay.

It was nice to stay here. I had to buy a new tv remote and a Chromecast device because otherwise I couldn’t use the tv. Which sucked. But otherwise it was great! It’s a downstairs apartment and yeah you can hear people upstairs but that’s totally understandable to me! Great location too

No parking. You have to park on the street. And walk up stairs to reach the unit. There is a family with young children living above the unit. The children run amuck starting at 6am. You will hear yelling, crying, banging, and noises that make you want to call Child Protection Services. The unit itself is very small. The cave of a bedroom has a very uncomfortable bed. You'll spend the entire night listening to all the movements upstairs. The very small "kitchen" is unusable for any kind of meal preparation. The electric stove showed signs of use, and was not clean. There was insufficient cooking untinsils. It appears the owners took the gardener's living quarters for this entire apartment building and tried to turn it into a VRBO. Be warned that they failed to convert this space into anything resembling a vacation condo.

Only drawback was lack of privacy due to other tenants walking by frequently so had to keep curtains closed much of the time. Beautiful view and amenities. Really great bed.
