About this condo rental
Maui Sunset Resort is one of the premiere resorts in all of Kihei. The grounds are landscaped with golf course style grass, bright orange flowering plants, and tall tropical swaying palms overhead. Our condo is ground level, so you can walk out on the patio and be only steps away from the large pool and hot tub. Tennis courts are also nearby for those that want to play a round of tennis with the Pacific ocean in the background. And for the children or the kid in you, there are two shuffleboard courts close by. When you are ready for grilling an evening meal, there are outdoor BBQ grills to use. Our condo, on the ground floor is ideally located on the oceanfront end of the resort, you are a 1 min walk from the patio to Sugar Beach, and you can enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean from within the condo. This unit is also our largest condo on Maui at nearly 1600 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Completely remodeled in 2019, the entire condo has high end finishes from floor to ceiling. It comes fully furnished to meet all of your vacation needs. Enjoy dinner at the large eat-in island inside and your evening beverage on the patio. You will also enjoy the plush, comfortable beds, free WIFI, and Smart TV’s for an evening movie. Alongside Maui Sunset is the longest beach on Maui, Sugar Beach. With a nearly 5 miles stretch of continuous sand, Sugar Beach is a great beach for a morning run or a romantic evening walk. In the mornings, the snorkeling off of Sugar Beach is one of the best kept secrets in all of Maui. Only 50-100 yards off shore you can see colorful coral, marine life, and if you’re lucky, the famous Maui Hunu (turtle). Also experience the famous tradition of outrigger canoeing off of Sugar Beach with the Kihei Canoe Club., where you can take part in an invigorating circuit off shore. If windsurfing is on your agenda, the afternoons are when you will see more of the water sports enthusiasts off of Sugar Beach. Within walking distance of the condo are restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores, while Costco and the airport are a short 20 min drive away. Kihei is also a great central location for any of your day trips around the island. Kaanapali is a 40 min drive North and Wailea is a 10 min drive South. This place was amazing! We loved being on the first floor, so the kids could play on the grass right by the condo when they needed to burn off energy. It's at the end of the building too, where it's quiet and you have extra space. We walked down to the beach several times, used the pool and hot tub, and played with the beach volleyball that is in yhe ottoman. I had kids ages 5-17, plus my parents, and we were all comfortable and happy with our stay. There were 6 beach chairs and an umbrella next to the washer if you are wondering what the current state of beach gear is.

The condo was big enough to accommodate our family of 9, with easy access to the beach and pool for the younger kids. Kitchen was well stocked for all of our needs.

This was the perfect place for my family of seven. The unit was so spacious and had everything we needed. The pool and grounds were immaculate. The unit is at the end so very quiet with beautiful sunsets every night. The location was great too. Centrally located to all so nothing was too far of a drive. Highly recommend!!

Good spot overall, the kitchen items were a little dated, and need upkeep on the knives All in all I would stay again, makes up for it with the location to beach.

We were two families (4 adults and 5 kiddos). Place was spacious enough for all of us. Being in the ground floor was a big plus. Kitchen had all we needed. Would stay again.

Large property on corner unit. Plenty of room and lots of kitchen items that made it feel like home. Beds were comfortable. Beach accessories were great! We enjoyed our week in paradise!

I love everything about this place, everything is close the pool, tennis courts and of course the beach, you can wake up early and walk to the beach and see the sunrise or the sunset and if you go early you will get to see the turtles.

We have stayed in many units at Maui Sunset and this is by far our favorite. It is nicely remodeled with an open kitchen and plenty of seating. The rooms are laid out nicely with space for couples and kiddos. It is an end unit away from the public park adding to privacy and quiet. Booking, check in and check out were easy. We look forward to returning.

We enjoyed our time immensely in this condo. We could see whales from the lanai with binoculars. The Condo has 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, one with a hall bathroom. One of the rooms has two sets of double size bunk beds. The bottom bunks are very low to the ground so my 40 something and 50 something friends, chose the top bunks. They both stated the beds were comfortable.
Parking is free and we were able to find parking somewhere each time we arrived. The parking spaces are a bit tight.
Location is excellent. You can walk out to the grounds from the Lanai. It's nice to eat outside.
We had a problem with our water heater. The owners immediately responded and got someone out to replace it. I was impressed at how fast they responded.
Overall a great, spacious condo. Everyone enjoyed their stay and would be very willing to return.

Great location. Love the first floor walkout to the pool/ocean/everything!! Accommodations were as advertised and other people staying here were very friendly. Opportunities….check in process was tough as we were on the move 9-5. 1. The after hours and security folks seemed anxious to help but didn’t deliver right away. 2. Leave a little extra toilet paper. You don’t have to clear out Costco or anything but a couple extra rolls would go a ways. 3. Island center bottom drawer isn’t seated properly to the actual glides and just falls out when pulled out.
We had great weather and fantastic adventures. Now we’re off to Kaui!!

We loved our stay in this condo. Such a great location with a huge kitchen and lovely ground level patio. The hot water tank alarm went off during our stay and owners promptly got help. Kitchen was quite well stocked for cooking - only missing a large frying pan.

Overall a great place to stay. There were some minor issues such as the hot water heater beeping when using the washing machine, towel racks and shower curtain rods falling down, and shower curtains not reaching the floor. But overall, a nice place to stay. Right on the beach and very nicely maintained grounds. Only 0.5mile from shops and restaurants and about 1.5miles from downtown Kihei. Great location.

Took 4 friends for a girls getaway. House was steps from the beach with a wonderful view of the sunset every night. We were all up early to walk the beach and have coffee on the porch.

Amazing location and condo for a family vacation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The owners were very responsive and made coordination of our stay very easy. The condo was very clean and all amenities were easily accessible. The location on the ground floor made for a very pleasurable stay for our multi-generational family. We loved how close the beach and resort amenities (pool, tennis courts etc) and the beach were. We will absolutely be returning for our next Maui vacation!

Sunset paradise!
Great location! Can’t beat the view and grounds. Worked out wonderfully for our multigenerational group. Unit gets used hard and that reflects on some of the furnishings but all in all, we were very happy to call it home during our stay.

Overall, we enjoyed our time here. The only complaint I have is that the cons in previous reviews were not addressed prior to our stay. Yes, the property was a little "dated", it also was wonderful to step outside our door, walk to the beach, or to the pool or hang out on the grass.
The beach was a bit "rough" but not unusually so. We found swimming beaches nearby, the sunsets were amazing and the walks on the beach in the morning could not be beaten.
We had a toddler and young children who could safely run all over the grass and were easy to supervise and be safe. We traveled several places on the island and it was easy to get around and was a quick trip almost anywhere.

Three couples were in our group and we all found the condo to be perfect for what we needed. There were a couple of issues, remote control to lights/fan in two of the bedrooms didn't work properly and there was only one useable beach chair. But we contacted the owner and the issues were taken care of quickly. The tennis court does obstruct the view of the ocean from the condo, but it was just a few steps to get around the court. The beach here is very rocky, but good for walks and whale watching. Restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores and a good beach to swim and snorkel at was close by. - The complex security guard was a jerk. I'm trying to think of a nicer way to put it, but can't. Every time we talked to him he made us feel unwelcome

- The other guests/residents were not very friendly. I don't think I am imagining it, but the (older) residents treated us like we shouldn't be there. I have stayed other places in Hawaii and felt the Aloha, but that was not the case here. This is not a criticism of the hosts, but I would not stay here again (especially with kids) because of this. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 4 kids from 2-13. We are (in my biased opinion) a pretty quiet and well behaved group.
