It was obvious the house was in need of professional work, DIY was very obvious. This four bedroom house that sleeps 11 only had three forks. The kitchen was very sparse, but large. It was a good the store was close that we were able to stock up on plastic and paper products. Unfortunately, this was our Thanksgiving meal with the family. However, the space was large with a beautiful backdrop.

The draw of this property is the dock and you cannot even hear the road noise from the back. Unfortunately, the renovations are incomplete, the interior lighting is abysmal, and the deck is unwalkable due to the bird poop. If the owners power wash the deck, clean/replace the sofa, replace the kitchen flooring, and add more interior lighting - this place can shine.

The original address we opted for while booking on June 10 2023 was something and Then on July 21 morning around 7 AM , I received an email saying that the original property which I chose would not be available and another option would be available. And at this instance, me and my friend's family were already on the way and in no ideal situation to take a look at the alternate property wisely. We had taken a lot of effort choosing the first property keeping kids and families in mind. The description in vrbo claims that it has a waterfront deck open and shareable. But when we took our kids to the deck especially to the long boardwalk, we noticed it was shaky and broken(as attached). And also , there were issues like the bathroom located near the kitchen did not have the latch for closing it from inside. There were no porch lights, it becomes even worse when we are having toddlers. The location had an image of the extended walk on to the bay. When we wanted to go to the deck another person didn’t allow us and told its his property. We did not find basic kitchen groceries I.e. salt, sugar, etc which usually we get after check in. The master bedroom bathroom didn’t have a latch. There were parking issues. There was wrong charges charged to my card while booking and I was told that would be refunded immediately after check out but it had been now more than couple of weeks but no refund is processed.

The inside was huge and beautiful. All of the bedrooms were big. The master bedroom upstairs was perfect and loved the master bathroom as well. Definitely would stay again.

House was nice, looks like the owner is making some improvements. A Washer & Dryer would be nice. Also would recommend more the one dish towel for the kitchen and maybe extra bath towels in the closet. The place has a lot of room. The bedroom had sliding doors that open onto a second deck overlooking the bay. It was beautiful at night. The kitchen is large which makes it great when your cooking the whole time you are away. The best thing was fishing and crabbing off the pier. Over all we had a great time and would recommend this place to stay. Communication with Kathleen was great, she answered all my question.

My family did an extended weekend at this property. Brought the boat down and tied it up at the dock for the stay. We used the public boat ramp which was just down the street, in walking distance, and a very nice ramp. The pier/dock at the house is sturdy with enough tie off points to secure boat (we have a 21'). you could tie off multiple boats if needed. Plenty of water to get in and out, even at low tide. Close to Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel which offers excellent fishing. We caught a few fish off the dock as well. This would be a prefect property for a guys (or gals) get-a-way fishing trip! We also enjoyed swimming off of the dock; bottom is sand, not all muddy and yucky like some places. House if very spacious, lots of room, comfortable. Enough off-street parking for 4 vehicles. There is also a marina 2 doors down which features a restaurant and small bar (Willoughby Fish House). You can also enjoy a free air show from the Naval Base across the water. Not quiet but cool to watch. We could hear base play the National Anthem in the AM, reveille, and retreat. Lots of cosmetic defects but everything functional. If they fixed all the cosmetic defects and made a few simple upgrades (better grill, permanent ladder on pier, added a washer/dryer, fish cleaning station,) , they could double or triple the price. This is a bargain for a waterfront property with a dock on navigable water. I would defiantly stay here again (especially at this price point).
