Passable
The apartment is fine. The coffee in capsules was nice.
There is mould in the bathroom and it smells in the bedroom as it's been a studio apartment.

The location was very good. No breakfast included.(could be arranged, but we wan't) We were very delayed, waiting for a transver. (Not from Whine Inn) But: - 3 days , no cleaning, not met the host. Just to get the key. - Handle from the douche was not good fixed at the wall, it loses. - There was a permanent smell from the sewage system..... -The bed was very soft and cracking.... - We left the room at 10.30. Seen nobody.

Our stay 24th to 30th December 2022
It was very close to the beach, which was ideal as we were surfing. There are also some nice places to eat very close to the apartment and also along the beach. The host communicated with us well and was friendly. We stayed over the Christmas period and the host was helpful and informative with local opening times for this period woth shops, restaurants and public transport.
The bed frame was so creaky that we couldn't actually sleep at all, we had to move the mattress on to the floor just to sleep the first night. We did however manage to fix this the next day by rubbing surf wax along the frame and the ends of each wooden slat, a solution that my partner came across and it worked a treat! This stopped the bed creaking for the rest of the stay. The mattress also kept sliding forward as it was too big for the bed frame. We only had one small pillow each, there didn't appear to be any spare pillows available. I think having two pillows each is pretty standard and would make a huge difference to make things more comfortable. The room didn't have a nice smell, it smelled really musty and possibly damp inside the built in wardrobe. We had to keep the wardrobe doors open to prevent our clothes from smelling bad. The shared kitchen was equipped for most things except there were only two drinking cups for hot drinks, and these weren't entirely fit for purpose as they didn't have handles. I would be concerned if the appartment had a full capacity of guests for there to be enough for everyone to use. We couldn't find the kettle until one of the existing residents in the other rooms had put it out one day. There is no oven but we managed without this for our stay, the toaster also doesn't really work properly, we had to hold the lever down to keep it toasting. Otherwise the bread just pops straight back up. It was very noisy outside most nights. There is a busy street that runs through the middle of the square, so it gets really loud if any large vehicles pass through at all hours of the night. I did expect there to be some noise though due to where it is. In regards to the area, I personally wouldn't stay in Carcavelos again to surf. I found the sea quite polluted with trash and I'm certain this was also what caused me to have a sickness bug during our stay.

Avoid this place
Room was ok. Close to the beach
The cost of their shuttle service both ways would have doubled the cost of the stay. Very disappointed their posting wasn’t more clear on that. Very hard to find the location as directions were not very clear. Despite the beach being close, I would not recommend staying here.
