Named "The Verandah" for its distinctive architecture, this beautiful, 2700 square foot, newly furnished and designer decorated home is 300 yards from the peaceful white sand and surf of Marine Beach. The home is located centrally in the prime La Jolla neighborhood of Beach Barber Tract, known for quaint historical homes within a quiet neighborhood. The famous restaurants and amazing shops of the Village are all within a mile to the north and east, an easy and beautiful walk with no need to find parking. The neighboring beach, Wind N Sea, is a short, beautiful walk to the south and is known for some of the best west coast waves, attracting surfers from all over the world! One can sit for hours watching the action of the surfers and even see an occasional whale. Read a good book, catch a nap, or just listen to the surf and watch the sunset from either of the home's two quiet upstairs balconies. Each of the home's 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom, tub/shower, and TV. The master bedroom is large and private with a separate sitting area with fireplace and adjacent office/library complete with desk, printer and best-selling books and DVDs. Fabulous location. We were able to walk everywhere - town, the Cove, shops, restaurants and the beaches! Yet a cozy quiet neighborhood. Beautiful, well-stocked home with lovely furnishings and gorgeous grounds. Very comfortable. A nice home to come back to each evening.

We spent countless hours researching places from San Diego to Carlsbad for 5 adults, and our almost 3 yo and 9 mo old granddaughters. This beautiful home far exceeded our expectations. It’s impossible to list all the highlights, but here are a few: excellent communication and superb hospitality with manager/hosts; ideal walking location to beach, shoreline and LaJolla village; ample street parking; the gorgeous interior of the house and the furnishings with private inside/outdoor spaces to work/read/relax; equipped to hilt; special added details to make this home an epicenter of wonderful family memories! We look forward to the next visit and simply wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

My adult children and husband so enjoyed our stay at the Verandah. It is a beautful property and extremely well maintained. The location cannot be beat - directly adjacent to Marine Beach. No downsides. Lovely.

The house was perfect. Beautiful rooms and a lovely side yard. Bright and cheery with a lovely kitchen and places to eat inside and outside. The yard is a perfect place for a toddler to play and adults to chill. We loved being so close to the beach and all the restaurants and shops in La Jolla. Easy access to all the San Diego attractions.. The property manager Marty was so responsive and friendly. We could not have asked for a better home for our family vacation. It exceeded all of our expectations.

Wonderful house and location. Great communication with the owner and property managers. Walking distance from the heart of La Jolla and the beach. Well appointed kitchen, bathrooms, private balconies, and outdoor sitting/eating areas. Comfortable beds. Plenty of areas to relax, read, and socialize. Easy (free) parking on the street. One of the nicest vacation properties we have rented anywhere.

Great location and beautiful house but it’s set up for a family with children as opposed to three senior couples. Master bedroom spectacular but other bedrooms are very small with small bathrooms.

What an amazing home. Even better than the pictures. The location couldn’t be better. It’s on a quiet street two blocks from a lovely beach. You are also just a few blocks (5 minute walk) to a few spectacular restaurants and shops. The cove, although beautiful, does tend to get very congested and this home balances being just close enough so you have privacy and are only a short walk away.
The house has everything you will ever need and everything is In meticulous condition. Every utensil and kitchen appliance, bikes, beach chairs, linens, etc. All first class. Sally and Jeff, and Anna the property manager, were open, responsive and extremely warm. Like staying with good friends.
Very much looking forward to our return here in the future and I suggest you give this home a try yourself.

We flew to San Diego to join my sil and youngest son on their 3 day walk for a cure for breast cancer. What a journey of support and love and inspiration we shared in (my sister in law calls it) her pink Bubble. We needed a spot close to the grounds and her home. There could not have been a more convenient place for walking to grocery stores and restaurants. Then the beach is just 3 blocks away. We woke up early for the sunrise and started our days with many smile. My children came together from Austin, LA, Amsterdam NYC and Denver - we could not have asked for a more gracious host and property manager. They gave us the tools to fit in like locals- the neighborhood was quiet and restful. We want to return!

Conversely, it was so nice to spread out in this large home and enjoy private time. The upstairs balconies are perfect for this! The location is phenomenal - we walked the short two blocks to the beach multiple times - no major streets to cross which is a huge plus! In addition, there are numerous great restaurants (El Pescador, The Taco Stand, and Small Goods) within a 5 minute walk from the house. This house offers it all, yet is in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Finally, it is obvious the owners take tremendous pride in ensuring their guests are well taken care of. Their attention to detail is much appreciated and will ensure future guests will be as pleased as we were.

Fantastic property!
Everything about this house was great. It was a perfect layout for my family and loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom and it's own TV. We thoroughly enjoyed the easy beach access - only a 5 minute walk. We also were able to walk to several delicious restaurants as well. The communication with the owner and property manager was top notch and the welcome fruit basket upon our arrival was such a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful House in Lovely La Jolla
What a great spot! The house is as-advertised with excellent beach access, all the amenities, and plenty of room for our group of 5 adults and 2 kids. The property manager was helpful and attentive and even provided fruit and coffee for us upon arrival. We had a fantastic week enjoying the beach, the nearby tide pools, and restaurants in La Jolla Village from this well-located beach house. Thank you!

Family vacation in La Jolla
Our family (6 adults, a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old) loved staying in this beautiful home!
The property was very clean, very well organized and stocked with everything needed to move right in and relax.
The location was great, just a block or two from a very nice beach and less than a mile to all the shops and restaurants in downtown La Jolla.
The communication and check in was seamless. Thanks to Marty for answering our questions and for the bowl of fruit on arrival.

We were a COVID bride and groom and wanted to get away for a delayed honeymoon and first anniversary. The owners were fantastic from the time we connected until we left the property. The attention to detail is most noteworthy. They did it all. The beautiful home with plenty of books, blue nautical decor and blue skies thanks to the numerous windows and skylights in the house made our stay just awesome.
We loved the decks, the outdoor spaces and the very short walk to the beach to watch the marine life and sunset helped us make great memories.
OMG. We were very excited to see a large basket of fruit welcoming us to a kitchen that Martha Stewart would covet! It included everything utensil, sets of china, pots and pans that we needed to make home made meals to eat at any one of the beautiful tables throughout the house and outside.
The bedrooms were so cozy and made us feel at home. Our owners suite included the entire top of the house with two decks that we used often. It was soooo lovely and made us feel at home.

The house is more spacious than the square footage indicates and the outdoor living areas are so conducive to gathering as a family at the end of the day. The fully stocked kitchen/bathrooms/outdoors are another indication of the high level of service you can expect from the owner and management. Wonderful beach escape
From beginning to end, this beach house is the perfect escape for any family. The house and reviews are totally accurate. Such a special location two blocks from private-ish beach with gentle waves and soft sand. Great morning walks north and south along the ocean. 5 minute drive from all the fabulous area restaurants.
House itself is beautiful and private, clean and comfortable. Lots of space for kids to online learn with sufficient WiFi. Enclosed yard with soft turf and nice furniture for outdoor dining and exercise.
Host is communicative and helpful and house has all supplies for beach and living. Couldn’t have had a better happier week away from the Northern California smoke and fires. Will certainly be back!

Beautiful home two blocks from the beach!
We had a fantastic time in this gorgeous home - walking to the beach, taking bike rides around town, playing tennis on the public courts just a few blocks away, hiking, cooking meals, and more. The home is beautifully decorated, well organized, clean, and filled with great natural light. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces - the front yard has ample space to eat together as a family or lounge and read. Highly recommend!!

Paradise!
My family and I (6 adults in total) spent two weeks at this property in January 2019. Located minutes away from a beautiful beach, this house has everything one can desire from a vacation home. Each bedroom has a separate bathroom that was fully stocked with toiletries and luxurious towels. The family room is so spacious that the whole family can gather and play cards, watch tv or just talk. The kitchen is state of the art and comes with all the china, glasses and pots and pans one could need. Furthermore, there is a binder with useful contact information, restaurant suggestions and tips on getting the most out of the stay. We so enjoyed the farmer's market on Sunday morning located a few blocks away in the school yard as well the Mexican restaurant down the street that we walked. Vons grocery store is just a few minutes away as are many great restaurants. Many thanks to Barbara and Sally who were so responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. I can't recommend this property enough and I would definitely book it again.
