Tiny apartment with misleading listing

The hot water, anir conditioning, and internet worked well.

We reserved an apartment with three beds, and in the case of this one, it meant rolling a bed out from under the sofa. There was only room for the two beds to be right next to each other and no other space in the living room. There were ants on the floor and a dead salamander under the bed. There were only enough chairs for two people and the apartment was clearly designed for that. The washing machine had to be manually spun and drained, which was a nightmare.

Great location, fully equipped apartment

Great location, the apartment has all the facilities, the kitchen is fully equipped.

Apart from the bed, there wasn’t any place to lounge. I missed a comfy chair or something like that.

Great stay next to Pelourinho

From the moment the booking was confirmed, the host provided a list of points of interest close to the property and in Salvador and communicated really well the check-in process. The flat itself is nice and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen and comfy beds. All in all, highly recommended and great value for money.

The stairs going up are fairly narrow and if you’re carrying bags (or a pram and a baby in our cause) you’ll need to do a bit of juggling.

Apartment-good quality but needs some attention

This is an apartment, called aparthotel, but, basically, it is an airbnb. It was very clean, well equipped, and everything worked.

We were here in winter and the living room/ kitchen was unbearably hot. The air conditioner is downstairs so the cool air does not rise and is trapped in the downstairs sleeping area, PLUS, all windows face north, making the upstairs very hot. Also, there is no furniture or closet... Nowhere to put or hang clothes or suitcases.

Nice place to stay, close to Pelourinho

Close to Pelourinho historical centre. Very clean and good facilities (A/C, equipped kitchen etc.) Easy to access on arrival. Host was good with communication and sent lots of useful information before arrival. Comfortable bed.

Internet connection dropped a few times and wasn't strong enough to maintain video call. Shower doesn't get very hot. Didn't feel very safe walking around, but I think that was true in other areas of Salvador too.

Great value, secure building

There were some very nice touches, like a great separate laundry sink and drying rack, and a water filter, so we did not have to buy bottled water. The building itself is very secure, and you can simply take an inexpensive taxi back home in the evening. The apartment was very clean. The Wi-Fi was above average. A good value!

There was no furniture other than the beds we slept in and two chairs in front of the counter, and no closet or cupboards, which necessitated us putting our possessions on the floor and and the dishes in the oven, which we did not like. The area of Salvador where we felt comfortable walking around after sunset with a police presence is very small, and this apartment did not appear to be within it, from our point of view. The air conditioner in the bedroom did not really reach into the kitchen / second bed area. A decent grocery store is too far to walk with heavy grocery bags (but taxis are cheap and quick to arrive with Uber or other taxi apps).

Clean, perfect condition, organized, good value!

We really enjoyed this apartment. Everything is in perfect condition, comfortable, and clean. Self-checking was easy, well explained and organized. The host replies quickly. The building itself feels secure with several locked gates. It is not too far from the center if you don't mind walking a bit (10-15min). The place itself is not too noisy. We appreciate the water filter device, the AC, and the whole apartment itself. Wifi works great, kitchen has the basic to cook. Good value for the price!

Everything was great, but if I could suggest to add shelves to put the dishes on, cutting knives and something to make coffee. Maybe shelves in the bedroom also. But other than that, all was perfect!
