Wonderful place to stay, nice place and location. Hosts were responsive.

Nice and quiet location, able to park on street every night. Fairly cozy for two adults especially the bed. Upgraded bathroom, everything needed in kitchen. Suggested to get a new Keurig or a larger drip coffee maker.

The property is clean, well appointed, and offers a convenient location for the Ballard area. The hosts have thought of everything to accommodate the traveler. One suggestion would be to leave instructions for the use of the Keurig coffee maker. It did not work sometimes. Overall, I highly recommend this rental.

My husband and I enjoyed everything about our stay. The two levels enabled him to make early morning coffee and hold zoom meetings downstairs while I was preparing for the day upstairs. A small deck upstairs with glider chairs overlooks the delightful patio below, and the chimney tops above, a welcoming respite at the end of day in the beautiful landscaping. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and very walkable to nearby eateries.

100% a superb location. walk or bike in any direction for something to see or do. The VRBO was clean and lovely. I felt safe in the neighborhood. It was also obvious that the hosts put a lot of thought in making sure we had what we needed.

Very clean, within walking distance of places we needed to be, excellent communications with owner. Would definitely try to stay again if we are ever in the area.

We used this space for my extra family that we could not fit in our home for the weekend. It was a great space and owner was very kind and friendly. Very clean and great location. We would definitely use it again.

Great location and property. Would absolutely come back!

This is a nice property, close to town. The owners did a good job of providing activities around the house and Bikes, Backpacks, Chairs to make it comfortable. The stairs up to the bedroom are rather steep, and probably not the best for older customers.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this location. It was very clean and attractive. The patio area and little deck were a bonus. Nice neighborhood and very walkable.

We loved our stay in Ballard! We were in town for a week and were able to easily walk to several bus lines to go into downtown Seattle, Fremont, and further into Ballard. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and I loved all of the personal touches to make us feel at home. The patio and deck off the top floor were great for enjoying coffee in the morning. Thank you for being such gracious hosts!!!

We stayed here while exploring Seattle and the surrounding area over a long weekend. We did need a rental car to get to most of the places we wanted to visit. The property was clean, comfortable, and fit our needs perfectly.

Beautiful property at a great location
The hosts made an exception to their no-children policy so my kids could come visit their great-grandparents and it was a lovely stay. I would not recommend that other people ask for this exception, as the unit is indeed not well-suited to hosting young children, but for a single person or couple this is an absolutely lovely place.
The upstairs unit gets very hot/stuffy in the afternoons but cools off quickly with a box fan conveniently provided to put in front of the sliding door to the balcony.
The location can’t be beat. It’s a 5min walk to the beautiful Locks, and is on a quiet street set back from the bustle.

I'm a local moving back to WA due to a job change. We needed a temporary place to stay until moving into a rental house in another Seattle neighborhood. We stayed here for about one month. The rental unit is at the back of the property, tucked away in a nice quiet spot. If you're driving, parking can be a bit tricky at first but you'll get the hang of it (not unusual for Seattle). The area seems to be pretty safe. I felt comfortable walking around. We cook a lot and having a full kitchen was awesome, especially if you're going to be somewhere for a whole month. I loved the outdoor seating. The rocking chairs on the upstairs deck were my favorite.
The owners were responsive to our needs and easy to reach via VRBO/text message. So there was no air conditioning when we stayed here (there should be now, or very soon), and we were unlucky enough to be in Seattle during the extreme heat wave (record breaking 106+ degree weather!) But the owners did what they could to make sure we could stay safe in the heat, which I appreciated.

Location: Perfect! Easy walking distance through nice neighborhoods to restaurants & bars, grocery stores & cafes, public transportation. You do not need a car if you stay here, but if you do have a car, parking is always available right in front of the property.
Neighborhood: Quiet, pretty, safe -- an ideal place to stay.
Accommodations: Excellent!
The kitchen occupies the lower level and is fully equipped with anything you could need. I cooked every night and found nothing lacking.
The bedroom/sitting room & bathroom occupy the upper level and were fantastic! The bed is comfy and is tucked into a little alcove that makes it one of the coziest places you could ever sleep. The loveseat (which converts into a bed) is equally comfortable, and the view through the sliding glass doors is of hedges and trees, making you feel like you're in a secluded, private space. It was too cold for me to sit out on my private deck , but there were chairs and a table out there to use had I been braver, and the deck would be a great place to sit in the evening to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set. (The yard and patio below are lovely as well and would be a welcome spot to unwind at the end of the day.) The bathroom is spa-like -- a large shower, a heat lamp, a generous assortment of soaps and lotions available -- I felt spoiled!
The overall attention to detail in this space is impressive. There are so many little touches that make it feel like home, only better. Especially with regard to lighting (flameless candles, faux fireplace!), you can tell that a great deal of thought and consideration went into designing the guest experience.
I live in Seattle and stayed here during the tail end of a home improvement project. I highly recommend Gwyn's place as a stay-cation spot for anyone local who needs a little break from their loved ones, especially during the colder, wetter months. :) I also highly recommend it to anyone visiting from out of town if you want easy access to the highlights of touristy Seattle while staying in a local neighborhood that allows you to experience real Seattle. The next time I have family or friends visiting from out of town, I absolutely will recommend Gwyn's place. (She's a very considerate host, by the way, who checked in with me periodically during my stay. Even though I didn't need anything, I appreciated it!)

Gwyn and Sean were so nice and welcoming. I stayed in this place for 3 months and we had no issues! The location is great, great outdoor space, and nice little home. Having a washer and dryer was a huge bonus too!
