Nestled on the tranquil southwest shore of stunning Lost Lake, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath cabin promises a serene escape. Ideal for a family getaway or a peaceful retreat with friends. Enjoy the screen porch, sandy swimming area, and private dock for your boat. Firewood is provided FREE of charge for your time spent with family and friends around your fire pit. There is a charcoal grill and picnic table for your use, as well. As a bonus, embark on aquatic adventures with two 10-foot kayaks or a complimentary rowboat (rows, paddles, and adult lifejackets included). Stay connected with our 5G wireless internet, a 43" flat screen Roku TV with Direct Stream TV, Amazon, & Netflix. Experience this affordable family getaway, and you’ll want to come back year after year. Pets are considered at Otter Place for an additional fee of $25/night per dog (with a max of 2 dogs) on a case-by-case basis. Undisclosed pets will be charged a minimum cleaning fee of $200/dog. Otter Place is non-smoking.

The cabin was very clean. Perfect for our family stay. The lake is beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. We had everything we needed including free firewood. We will definitely be choosing this location again.

We had a great time. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was the perfect set-up for the 4 of us. Our host was fantastic. She got back to me immediately when I messaged her with questions for info on boat rentals and other questions. Highly recommended!

Very clean, comfortable and cozy cabin. Plenty of room for us (4 adults). Pleasant surroundings to sit outside and enjoy the lake! Shower was a bit smaller than expected but it worked out well. Enjoyed our time there! Highly recommend this cabin.

We have family that live in the area. The hotels get so noisy and crowded during snowmobile season. This was a nice retreat and didn’t feel crowded.

property was good/ expected a sandy beach and it was not. we still had a great time going other places. told her I needed the door code sent to my cell phone since did not have access too my email on the road- all worked out to to a family neighbor. Would rent again.

We would have liked to have been able to sit on the screen porch and watch the lake, sun rise, sunsets but it was filled with spiders and cobwebs. The cabin was a nice size for the 2 of us plus our dog. I'm not sure how 4-6 people would stay as it is pretty small. The bathroom shower is the smallest we have ever seen. It was nice to get away for a week. We were looking forward to being in the water but it was green with algae so that didn't happen which is no fault of the owners. Overall I would give Cabin a rating of just okay.

The cabin was clean. There was enough room for us. There was confusion with the owner on my check in day. We had to wait to get in. The stay was good after that.

Perfect for Our Needs & Great Host!
“Little Slice of Heaven on the Lake,” AKA “Otter” was the perfect little cabin for our needs. It served as overflow accommodation for family who were reunioning at my brother’s cabin on a nearby lake. The cabin is very cute with rustic decor and is well kept-up. It was spotlessly clean inside. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings attractive. There is a fabulous lake view and a nice dock, and a yard swing and lawn chairs were also provided. It was wonderful to be allowed to bring a family dog, and the host was more than accommodating in this aspect as well as others. Communications were always prompt and cordial. We ran into one little hitch on arrival—a pocket of air in the fuel line for the heater’s pilot light meant some late-night fiddling with an unfamiliar appliance to get it lit and working. But this was a minor hiccup, and the hosts were as helpful as they could be about coaching the way to a fix. We so enjoyed our stay and won’t hesitate to stay here again. Recommended!

We had a wonderful family vacation! The cabin was exactly as described and comfortable for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenage daughters). Other than the wicked storm that blew threw while we were there (we lost power) the week was great. Great location with being right on the water, would suggest renting a boat or a motor for the row boat if you plan to fish. We brought paddleboards and the lake was great for that. We also fished, hiked and biked. Very short drive to grocery store and restaurants so the location was ideal.

Northwoods cabin
We had a great stay (family of 4), cabin was so clean and comfortable. The lake was very nice, we swam, did some fishing and some paddle boarding. There was a lot of wildlife to see and enjoy. It was a great vacation. I would highly recommend staying at this cabin.

Little Slice is exactly what I had hoped. It isn't a "Holiday Inn meets Yellowstone Park" themed cabin. It was super-comfy for the 2 of us during our Fall visit. I found the beds very comfortable, and sheets with a "you know these are really clean" aroma. The kitchen area is a bit of a throwback, but it worked perfectly for us.
The location of this place is easy to find, and it sits within a small enclave of well maintained, and mostly modernized cabins and vacation homes, and all on the lake shore.
Lost Lake is very picturesque, lots of hiking trails in the area, fishing from the pier or use the aluminum rowboat that lives at the cabin.
We are big on Fall vacations, and we enjoyed our stay more than anticipated.

Relaxing, COVID free getaway achieved!
Lovely location so close to town and so much to do and see. The fish weren’t biting but we had nightly duck visits, beautiful sunsets and just a wonderful place to relax and spend a week away. We road tripped to Copper Harbor and it was a perfect day trip. Trails all over that do not disappoint. We’ll be back!

Wonderful, affordable family getaway!
What a wonderful little treasure on a beautiful, clear lake! The lot is gorgeous. The cabin was so clean and comfortable. We loved the sandy beach entry to the lake, and our boys loved swimming right off the pier. We rented a pontoon for the week and spent everyday out on the lake. Our boys caught many fish over the course of the week, many right off the pier! We had a campfire and s’mores every night. It was the perfect social distancing vacation for our family.

Cute little cabin. Very clean and well stocked. Very comfortable for two of us but I think six would be too crowded. Debbie and Al very accommodating. Our one suggestion would be to keep a tarp over a portion of the firewood. We enjoyed our stay.

Labor Day getaway!!!
What a wonderful little get away for the end of summer!!! We enjoyed every minute there!!!! It was very relaxing and peaceful!!!! Very very clean !!! It had all we needed!!!! For a personal touch I had the joy of meeting the owners Debbie and Al !!! Very nice people and very concerned that we enjoyed our stay!!!! Highly recommend staying here for those that are looking for a very peaceful time from the chaos of our lives. Blessings to Al and Debbie!!!! Thanks for letting us stay in one of your cottages!!!

Great Getaway
Cabin was extremely clean and cozy with many nice little amenities like slow cooker, Chicago Cutlery set etc. Was wonderful to sit on our own Pier early morning with coffee and have a fire in our own fire pit at night. Great getaway

Best week ever
Our family of 4 had the best week ever at The Otter Place! The cabin was perfect in every way. The cabin had everything we needed to relax and just enjoy the lake and each other. The days were spent fishing and swimming, while our young sons jumped off the dock. Evenings were spent grilling and sitting around the fire pit talking about how much we were enjoying ourselves. The cabin is close to everything but on a quiet culdesac so it feels very private and remote. The hosts stopped by to make sure we have everything we needed and were gracious enough to offer some dry kindling after we struggled to get a fire going after a rainy night. We have already started figuring out the week we can go back next year!
