Over all not bad could use some more blankets available and better trash bags. But the views make up for anything we would complain about.

We loved it ! We went to LS FEST Car show , this is our fourth year . It was the perfect place to stay for our family to be together all in one place . This has been our best trip yet !

Enjoyed our stay, very responsive property manager!

Everything was nice except the temperature. The thermostat was locked and could not be changed. My family burned up and lost several nights sleep. Just miserable for us. I am sorry to have to put in writing. We did not call property due to time constraints with family visiting and changing their plans. Just didn’t work out.

We were looking for a relaxing spot to getaway and within close proximity of Mammoth Cave. The Doc House was perfect for our needs! The bedrooms were comfortable for the adults (two couples) and there was ample room for the six kids. The back deck offered a great, quiet view of the lake, and was excellent for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The access to the lake was simple enough, and provided for some fun activities for the kids (geode hunting primarily). The host answered our questions and access to the property was a breeze. Overall, the Doc House was a great spot for our short getaway!

Really great place to stay, this was our second year in a row staying here for New Years. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to get away for a nice quiet trip to relax and unwind. Great communication with Property manager. Very clean, well kept, and well stocked house.

Wonderful location - we visited both Bowling Green & Mammoth Cave and is about 30-40 minutes from each! Beautiful views of the lake, nice to have two living spaces and a kitchen that was easy to cook in! A great place to spend a couple of days even in November!

Very happy with our stay! We had a little trouble finding the place at first (Google gave us incorrect directions) but after we talked to the property manager she got us to the right place. House was great, we loved being able to bring the dogs too!

Had a great time. Barren River Lake located just down the hill. Super quiet and dog friendly. Spent the evenings swimming and floating around in pool floats in the water to cool off.
Access to the water can be tricky if you have really young kids but not at all a problem for tweens/ middle schoolers. Bring water shoes bc the shore line and bed of the river is rocky.
Great split on 2 levels with a small kitchen on bottom level that could definitely accommodate 2 families, teens, in-laws, etc. All the modern amenities needed to help wind down at night (smart TV, Wifi, etc)
Mammoth Cave National park about 30 - 40 min away. Bowling Green about 30 min. Nashville, TN and Abe Lincoln birthplace a little over an hour. Glascow (Ralphie' Fun Center, Walmart, Restaurants, etc.) about 20 min away. Paradise Point right around the corner - great spot to stop and get the 411 (showing my age here...lol) on things to do in the area - the people are great!

I've been going to Barren River for 32 years. Each year our family gets a little bigger. This year we just needed a little more room so we rented Beth's lake house. The house was amazing. It was super clean and very spacious. There were plenty of towels, sheets, blankets and every kitchen appliance you could possibly need. Along with all the things you need, the view is everything I wanted. The twinkle lights at night were beautiful. We really had the best time ever!! Thank you so much again Beth!

Fantastic Place to Stay
Wow, it was amazing all the way around. Beth was on top of everything and so very sweet. The property and home was clean and welcoming, didn't lack for anything. Very appreciative that it is dog friendly. The view off the porch was wonderful and the breeze great. A must visit - Paradise Point, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast Sunday morning and it's just a fun place.

Nice house, owner, and manager
We liked Beth, the owner, and the DOC house overall.
Pros: Beth's communication was quick. Check in was easy. Check out was pretty easy too. Neighbors were friendly and helpful. The house is nice and has a great deck for adults to hang out when young kids are inside asleep. The area is pretty quiet. Skipping rocks at the lakeshore with the kids was fun. Everything in the kitchen worked pretty well. Beds were comfortable and clean.
Cons: Locked thermostat is annoying. We could request a change, but at midnight the first night our friends in the upper floor were too hot to sleep well and did not want to bother anyone. The canoe rental was much more difficult than we have experienced at other lake house rentals. Hard to haul the canoes down the stairs, and you're not supposed to use the dock which covers most of the usable shoreline. The lake shore is no good for swimming - especially with young kids. Covered up by the dock that you're not supposed to use.
But its a nice place overall, and Beth and the owner are helpful and nice people.

Family Reunion on the lake
Our group of 10 had a wonderful week together converging from multiple locations for an overdue reunion! The house had a great upstairs kitchen, family room and deck to enjoy together. Based on previous reviews we brought extra folding tables and chairs to allow us all to sit together for meals indoor and out. We were disappointed to find the bunk beds were "unsleepable" as they were free standing and wobbled with every move resulting in 6 of our group sleeping on air matresses....the two bedrooms however were great.
Otherwise we loved the swimming, golfing, location and companionship of the visit and were blessed with wonderful weather. The manager Beth was very responsive to our needs.

Beautiful Place, Great View!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house had plenty of space for my husband and I and our 2 kiddos. It was cute, clean, fully stocked, and had an awesome view. Beth was very kind and accommodating. I loved the extra little touches! We rented a kayak which was fun for my husband and the kids. There were several great restaurants and lots to do within a 30-minute drive...Ky Down Under in Horse Cave, Lost River in Bowling Green, etc. We highly recommend "Dock House" and plan to return in the future! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Place was nice, but wouldn’t stay there again.
The property was clean, spacious, and in a nice location but the layout of furniture made it hard to hang out as a group - which is a big deal when going on vacation. On the main level in the living room there is 2 person loveseat, and a lazyboy recliner, then in the background was a 4 person kitchen table. So, in the evening we all couldn’t fit in the living room together because there wasn’t seating for us all. The downstairs had a similar arrangement... A big couch with a sectional is really needed. Also, the stools around the kitchen island are wayyy to tall, so when trying to hang out there you it’s very uncomfortable because your legs are about as high as the kitchen island surface.
