About this house rental
Come experience Old Florida in our circa 1957 Mid-Century Modern home! It boasts open living areas with the bedrooms on one wing of the house. A glassed in lanai stretches across the entire back of the house. The floors are original terrazzo. There are many vintage furnishings throughout the house. You will enjoy the large kitchen with original working cooktop and oven. It is well stocked and very pink! Flamingo House has two bedrooms. The master has a king sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen. Between the bedrooms you will find a beautiful vintage tiled bathroom that has been recently updated. We also have a laundry room/half bath combo, and we recently installed an outdoor shower! There is a full sized sleeper in the living room as well as a roll away bed. The sofa on the lanai is quite comfy as well! You will find the laundry and half bath off the kitchen. In the mudroom you will find plenty of chairs and toys for the beach. We even have a sifter for all the sharks teeth you will find at the beach! There are many public beaches close by. Manasota Beach is about 3 miles south of us. It has bathroom facilities and public parking. Blind Pass Beach, 8 miles south of us, is a state park with free parking, bathhouse facilities, and wide beaches. There are several excellent public beaches on Venice Island, including a dog beach.

Spacious home with retro character! Mitzi has thought of everything her guests might need & gave us great suggestions for restaurants & activities! Everyone we met (several neighbors,sales clerks,even the cashier @ carwash) was friendly! Being bird watchers, we loved the Audubon rookery,which is nearby & all the egrets & storks that frequent the neighborhood!We hope to return.

Location was perfect. Close to amenities. Short drive to public beach parking. Outside shower to clean off before going inside. The home is like stepping back in time. We enjoyed everything about it.

The house was very clean and maintained very well. It appeared to have original working appliances (stove and oven) and a very unique decor. The house was more than spacious for our family of 5.

This property suited our life style. It is near beaches, golf courses and a 5 star biking trail and many restaurants. We also enjoy the open concept inside the home. The owner is very easy to communicate with.

Awesome house. Had a small problem and the property owner responded immediately even though it was the middle of the night. Would recommend to anyone. They owner left a detailed book with beaches and restaurants that was very helpful. Will stay here again.

Mitzi was a great host. Communication was excellent. House was exactly as described. We found house very comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was clean. Tv is streaming only. Netflix included. Outside shower was great and outside dining area comfortable. Car port was nice because it was shaded. General area was beautiful. Very scenic we enjoyed our visit.

Cute, retro house. The neighborhood was very quiet and nice. Close to beach, restaurants and shops.
All the amenities we could need. Lots of great books too. Very thoughtfully maintained. Not fancy or glitzy. Old-fashioned, clean and cute!

My husband and I really enjoyed this rental, so much so we are renting for 3 months next year. Number one for me was the beach and beach ferry! My husband loved the surrounding golf courses. I also really enjoyed the Shamrock biking path on the Venetian waterway. The rental exceeded our expectations!

We enjoyed the Flamingo house we stayedinit for 30 days. Mitzi is so nice and kind. The house is located in a great neighborhood near amazing beaches and great restaurants. The house had beach chairs umbrellas and bikes so we could use on our stay. They have a ferry pass so we could go in for a ride. And the shower out side is a great idea so we could wash our self and the kids so we didn't get sand in the house.
I would recommend this place.

The house is much nicer than the pics! It is furnished and decorated in mid century, Old Florida. I absolutely loved this home! Having washer and dryer very convenient! Outdoor shower was much needed!! Location was great- we used the neighborhood ferry to go to the beach. Even though there was red tide during our stay, this beach is just beautiful and not crowded at all! Perfect for anyone who doesn’t care for crowded beaches:) We also went to Caspersen Beach and found a few small sharks teeth- that was a great day at the beach as well! Overall a great stay!

Excellent property, excellent owner!
This is a great house, very clean, with very cool retro decor in a great location. Rooms are spacious and the house is well-stocked with towels, linens, cookware, etc. In addition, Mitzi was very accommodating with a special request we had, which was very much appreciated!! Highly recommended!

Family vacation
The home is in a nice neighborhood. Close to several of the best beaches. Manasota Key and Blind Pass were absolutely beautiful and within 15 minutes of the home. The Venice pier was about 10 mins away along with Casperson Beach and the restaurants Fins and Shark's on the pier. The house was decorated so uniquely. The outside shower was a huge plus. The only thing I can say is the plumbing in the house needs some work and Mitzi already has a plumber looking into that.

Spring Break in the Flamingo House
What a great place to stay! Fun with the decorations and retro look. Very clean and easy to use. Plenty of towels, good kitchen supplies and plenty of space to spread out. It was great to have beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, etc to use, saving us having to bring them along. Very quiet neighborhood and a short drive to multiple beaches. Highly recommend it!

Girls weekend
We all had such a great time in Florida for our girls weekend! We loved having a kitchen and laundry room! There was everything we needed for the beach and more. The pass to use to take the ferry to a private beach was so perfect! The retro decor was so fun too! Definitely recommend staying here! We also got so much info for things to do around the area!!

Perfect for our needs!
501 Flamingo was just as we expected, and perfect for our needs; the price is appropriate for the accommodations. We needed a place to stay that was close to family in Englewood. This place was just right, comfortable and clean. We did not end up using the ferry pass to the beach, but it was nice to know we had that if needed, and not too far away. Mitzi was very welcoming and prompt with communication. We would definitely rent this home again! Thank you!

Mitzi the owner was very attentive and responsive and even left us some fabulous fresh roasted coffee. If you like vintage 50s/60s style you’ll love this property.

The decor has a new vintage vibe. We loved having the bikes to use and the house was stocked with everything we needed - even a special delivery of some local coffee for our stay!
