The cottage features 2 large bedrooms both with king beds, a large bathroom with a custom walk-in shower, a spacious, well-appointed kitchen, formal dining for 6, and a cozy living room with a gas fireplace. There are skylights and big picture windows throughout the home for lots of natural light and views of the hapuu fern and ohia forest outside. Beautiful interior with a Hala-kahiki (pineapple) theme throughout the well appointed house. Other that our personal grocery list everything else was already here. Madam Pele erupted the day before one of our birthdays, what a gift! MUCH cooler than Hilo or Kona which, for us, made life more enjoyable. We could visit around the island, come back here to the restful screened lanai (porch) and the comfortable house and not be hot.
WiFi and TV available and worked well.
On demand water heater was great. We literally have no complaints. Hope to get back here again!

This rental is surround by lush flora in a great location to HI Volcano National Park and an easy drive to Hilo. It was a little smaller than it looks but it was just enough for a family of 4. If I have to nitpick, I am not a big fan of the pink paint color but it was subdued enough to not be a big deal. They have plenty of floor cushions in the bedroom closet to make it more comfortable to relax while watching tv at the end of the day. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of bedding. I would recommend this rental if you want to be close to HI Volcano National Park!

The house has everything you need, even if you have littles. Extra blankets, futon, pack n play, nice screened in lanai. We enjoyed our stay. House is clean & well organized with all the extras! Would definitely stay again!!!

Absolutely loved this cottage especially the location. Being from Arizona it was so fun to experience living in a "jungle" for a few days. Very clean with all the amenities we needed. Good communucations prior to arrival and absolutely no issues with our reservation. My only recommendation would be to find a better way to keep salt due to the significant humidity.

We absolutely loved staying at Liko Lehua Cottage. Such a wonderful location in the "jungle" with so much privacy. The cottage was clean and met all our needs. If we ever visit the Big Island again we will definitely stay here again. We have already recommend this place to others.

The place was so nice and located in a rain forest! So convenient to the Volcanoes National Park and nice restaurants. The house itself was well appointed with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of bed linens. The fireplace was a great source of warmth and the furniture was all comfortable like home The appliances were nice, including washer and dryer. I would give this place a top rating! So glad we were able to book a reservation here and stay for four nights.

Location was really great. The house had everything u could need-it was cold when we arrived but gas fireplace and space heaters warmed it right up.

What a lovely and comfortable cottage! Good floor plan, with plenty of room. As the nights were cool, we appreciated the flannel sheets. Did not use the heaters, but nice to have the option. We cooked breakfasts and some dinners— kitchen was well-appointed. Washer and dryer came in handy too. There were a few hiccups with a smoke detector that would go off during cooking (I didn’t burn anything, lol). We learned to just shut the door to that room. TV was a steep learning curve—a few hints written down might be nice. The salt grinder didn’t work. Luckily we had our own salt, but someone else might not. Lastly, there was conflicting info about garbage. One sheet said we had to get rid of it ourselves at the Transfer station (!), and the other said put it in the outside garbage/recycling cans (which were full and overflowing). These were all minor blips—I’m sure we could have reached out to the management, but honestly we were too busy having fun in the Park and in the area. You’ll have a great base camp if you stay here!

We spent three nights at this cottage in Volcano and found it to be delightful and would certainly stay here again. The location was great as it was only a few minutes from the entrance to Volcanoes National Park. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals there. The two bedrooms are very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Even though there was only 1 bathroom for the three of us, it worked well and everyone enjoyed having a walk-in shower. At night it was enjoyable watching a movie on the big TV in front of the gas fireplace. Overall, it was a very enjoyable place to stay and recommend it to other travellers.

We have never been to Hawai’i and wanted to stay by a friends house. The place was well equipped with everything we needed. House was very nice and clean. You are by a National park and a black sand beach.

Very comfortable two bedroom bungalow. The king beds are dreamy. The host provided all sorts of supplies from laundry detergent to coffee creamer. They had a bunch of toys that kept our 6yo daughter entertained. They have all sorts of baby gear for younger families.
Being right next to the park, store, restaurants, and post office was super convenient. Note: The Lava Rock Cafe has better food than the hotel inside the park. Unfortunately, the Thai place was closed while we were there.
The property is about 40 minutes from the
Punaluʻu black sand beach where we spent an afternoon wave hopping.
Volcano can get chili at night. We used the gas fireplace every morning. Cozy!
Also, if you get a chance, check out Kau coffee plantation.
I recommend this property.

Wonderful home - great location!
This is a wonderful cottage nestled in the fern forest. It was well equipped, quiet and convenient for Volcano National Park and the south-east coast of Hawaii. The birds, flowers and trees were delightful and it rained almost every day.
Note: There are not a lot of grocery stores or restaurants in Volcano so plan on bringing food in.
We would definitely stay here again if we come to Hawaii again!

This home has everything you need for a comfortable stay. And a fabulous view from every room!!! The kitchen is well equipped and we really appreciated the warm gas fireplace on cool nights. We loved being just a few minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. There are just a few places to eat and a small, interesting local grocery near Volcanoes NP so if you plan on preparing your own meals you might want to buy groceries before you come. If you are taking the Southern route from Kona airport, I would suggest shopping at Costco and/or the KTA Super Store-Keauhou just south of Kailua-Kona or in Hilo at the KTA Super Store-Puainako. These KTA stores usually have nice selections of meats and veggies.

We found the cottage to be exactly as the pictures in the posting, well decorated and well maintained and well stocked as well. The location was great with Volcano National Park just a 5minute drive and Hilo and the South at a convenient driving distance as well. There are limited but good restaurant options nearby. The best part was hearing the beautiful rainforest sounds every time we stepped into the covered patio :)

The cabin is cozy and surrounded by Hapuu ferns.
Everything, from the kitchen, bedding, to furnishings is first class. The fireplace warms the cabin up very quickly and the small ones in the bedrooms does also, but with the warm bedding we did not need to turn it on often.
