Located in Alanson, this attractive house for $436 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Beautiful cozy cottage with 2 bedrooms (king & double bed, along with self inflating twin air mattress in closet - all linens are provided), 1 bath, free Wi- Fi, smart TV in every room, washer/dryer, full kitchen, BBQ, two paddle boards along with two kayaks to enjoy, bonfire pit, hammock for relaxing naps. The atmosphere is peaceful with beautiful views of wildlife, watch boats stroll up and down the river right from the back deck. Dock your own boat with access to boat launch 5 minutes away @ $5, bring your own life jackets. Stroll thru multiple lakes which include Crooked, Burt, and Mullet with endless adventures and historic scenery (swinging bridge, locks, boathouses, etc.). Enjoy local shopping, amazing restaurants, beaches, resorts, golfing, fabulous wineries, fishing, casino, sunset boat tours, river rafting/tubing (7 miles from Petoskey, 10 miles from Harbor Springs, 7 miles from Indian River, 25 miles from Mackinac Bridge, 28 miles from Charlevoix). Stayed at this awesome place NYE 2023 (Dec 31 – Jan 2, 2024) with my GF. Views of the river's wildlife complemented the interior’s holiday décor. The area has numerous attractions during the winter – including downhill skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing. We had a lovely time. Highly recommend during the winter/cold months.

We absolutely LOVE the Cozy Cottage♡♡ This has become our family tradition over Thanksgiving. We look forward to this hidden gem. It's set back on the water. Perfect getaway to relax and unwind and a perfect location for day outings. The house is always prestine and stocked with all amenities and more. We love our morning walks and coffee and so do our pups! Tamara & Jason are great hosts. Very welcoming and helpful! This will always be a place we look forward to going to as a family. Highly recommend any time of year!

We decided to stay at the cozy cottage based on the beautiful photos with the listing. When we got to the cottage we were very pleased to find that the cottage was even cuter than the photos showed! It had everything we needed for our 3 day stay and the backyard was the perfect spot to relax in the late afternoon after sightseeing all day. It was very clean and comfortable. The owners also knew we were celebrating our honeymoon and left us some chocolate and Prosecco which we found to be so thoughtful. Highly recommend this place for your stay! We hope to come back one day to further explore the beautiful area.

Tamara and Jason are the perfect hosts! The cottage was extremely clean and well stocked with all the essentials and more. They even provided a wonderful bottle of wine on arrival. The location was an easy drive to Petoskey, Harbor Springs and the ferry to Mackinac Island. I loved being able to watch all the boats pass the cottage on Crooked River. Very peaceful. I would definitely stay here again. Such a gem!

This truly was a cozy cottage. It was clean, cute, and had everything we needed. Tammy was communicative through the process and it was the perfect location - it felt like it was close to everything! We went up to do some hiking and it was the perfect spot to come back to and relax in the evening. We didn't get to utilize the deck as much as we hoped because the weather was too cold, but i imagine in the summer it is the perfect hang out spot. The bed was comfy, the water pressure in the shower was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time here! Cute and comfortable cabin! The river was calm and sitting on the back deck was wonderful. The boat ride to the connecting lakes was a little longer than expected, but still a lovely location and took nothing away from the cabin and the experience here.

The cottage was adorable, very clean and provided everything you need for a great stay. You really don't have to bring anything except your clothes and food. The beds were extremely comfortable with really soft sheets, which made for a great night sleep. We loved how close it was to Petoskey and Mackinac. We will definitely plan on staying again. Thank you, Tammy and Jason for opening up your cottage to us.

Cozy, clean, quiet and close to Petoskey. This little cottage was just the spot we needed for a girl’s getaway. Tamara is so kind and was so helpful. Their was an issue with the lock box before we even arrived and she called to let us know & she took care of it. She also gave us great recommendations for dining options in Petoskey. The beds were super comfy and the sheets were the softest I’d ever slept on! The cottage, deck and yard area are very clean and tidy. 100% satisfied with our choice.

Peaceful setting! Nice view of river while sitting in the back of house. Loved the setup of house - perfect for our needs. Clean! In the middle of all the good places to visit and bike: Harbor Springs, Charlevoix and Petoskey. Really enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is beautifully decorated and the host provided everything you might need. Lovely seating area on the back deck where you could relax and watch the boaters in the river. TV's in both bedrooms and the living area with lots of viewing options. Lots to do either in Petoskey or Mackinaw area - both are just a short drive away. We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing weekend and highly recommend this home and the host!

Just perfect!
I had a lot of communication with Tammy and she was extremely responsive, and very thorough and helpful in her responses. This property was so well equipped, with so many little touches to make you feel at home. From the very cute decor, to all the amenities, it's like Tammy and Jason are always thinking about their guests. The most recent addition is the awning which helps keep the heat down on those hot days. The location is great in watching the boats and kayakers go by and all of the wildlife. And, the proximity to Petoskey and Mackinaw is great if you want to visit the area. I could go on and on. Thank you for having us. I can't wait to return!

Great stay at the cozy cottage
We don’t have a whole lot different to add than the other reviews, and would 100% echo what they stated about the cleanliness, great communication, amenities and wonderful location of this cottage.
We were in town for Petoskey’s Fresh Coast Classic soccer tourney, and had a great relaxing stay between games with our kids and dogs. The hosts made the stay effortless, and we really enjoyed the great fishing off the dock + very nice neighbors.

Comfortable, Quiet and Very Clean!
This place was better than expected! As we walked through the house my wife said "this is amazing." Very clean, peaceful and well decorated. This was a very comfortable place to stay and we would recommend to anyone. Neighbors were very helpful and welcoming.

Our stay at this cottage was very nice. The cottage was well kept and perfect for our stay. We were here for a ski weekend, cottage was conveniently located to Boyne Highlands and Nubs Knob.

Gem cottage
Beautiful cottage/setting located on a dead end private road on the river. Great location in between charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Petoskey & Mackinaw City!! This home had everything we needed...seriously a home away from home. Perfect home for families, pets and SO much to do!! We enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday & enjoyed the most beautiful snowfall!! We loved going into town & coming back to a peaceful setting to relax. Can't wait to stay at this cottage in the summer months!! It was simply perfect ♡

Wonderful location
This clean, well-appointed cottage has a prime location. Easy access of off 75 and a short to drive to Harbor Springs and Petoskey. The owners were extremely responsive and great to work with. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back in the Summer! Thank you.

Fall color tour
Very nicely decorated and updated. Everything needed was available. Very clean and well-maintained. Nice little town with a grocer, bakery, and a family restaurant, all within minutes of the cabin. The location served us well for day trips to Petosky, Mackinaw, Cheboygan, Indian River, and the Tunnel of Trees. A great experience overall!

We really enjoyed our mini Fall trip to this property. It's in a great location to access multiple destinations. Very quiet. The cottage was clean and well-equipped. The owners were very responsive to questions.

Great place for a quick weekend getaway
I traveled here with my daughter and friend. We had a great stay. Tammy and Jason's cozy cottage was perfect. Sitting on the patio out back along the river watching the boats go by and waving was the perfect way to start our trip. The location was great, as we ventured to Charlevoix, Petoskey and Mackinaw City. We even took a day to drive to the UP and toured the Pictured Rocks. We definitely will stay again and make use of the paddle boards and kayaks. The neighbors were friendly as well. Nice spot on a dead end street.

Wish I Could Give Ten Stars vs. Five!
We stay in many VRBO homes, and most are nice, but this cottage has THE MOST THOUGHTFUL OWNERS right down to a welcome note and a bottle of wine awaiting us! Everything imaginable was there for our use plus extras. (Yes, we replaced what we used but so nice to have things there when you need them!) It is decorated perfectly for a river cottage - so close to the water that we could talk to the boaters if we wanted. Tammy and Jason are very easy to reach and communicate with. Photos on here do NOT do it justice - especially the darling queen guest room that formerly had a twin and a blow-up bed. And clean; did I say CLEAN??? VERY!!! Neighbors are appropriately friendly, the neighborhood is quiet, and you will come away very rested. It is a great location for traveling to the UP, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, Petoskey, etc. So very pleased with everything! Thank you Tammy and Jason!

Owners have thought of everything and cottage was well appointed. We enjoyed light meals/snacks on property and chose to enjoy the local restaurants for dinner but I suspect the owners are accomplished cooks as the kitchen was fully equipped to prepare your own meals if you so choose.
Hydrogen peroxide and bandaids were at the ready for my encounter with the kayaks lol...
We had wonderful weather but in the event of a rainy day there is reliable internet and satellite TV which could save the day.
Owners were easy to communicate with/very helpful and went well above and beyond when alerting us to the fact we left behind a personal item which they promptly shipped back to us.
Also appreciated their sense of humor, Thank you T&J !!
